  1. Try raising your arms over your head. It helped me.
  2. Sounds like you had an awesome time. I am looking forward to being 60lbs lighter. I am trying to follow your lead.
  3. I got a little fill on thursday.....I ate a hamburger patty with no problems...then I ate a low fat cheese stick and I felt restriction. I would rather go slow too. Getting an overfill scares me. I did find eating hard protein takes care of my hunger. I eat eggbeaters and they are low in calories and high in protein. Hang in there!
  4. If we journaled our food, exercised everday, and ate at scheduled times we could lose 10lb a month......oh yes, get a handle on our "head hunger". The stresses of life come upon us , and the first thing we do is ignore our journey. We didn't get this way by being disciplined and thinking only of ourselves. It is tough, but I think if we continue to support one another through LBT, we WILL reach our goals.
  5. My goal is to lose 10lbs a month.....I know that is a lofty goal, but the nurse told me that the Dr. would like for me to lose 10lb a month. Maybe she thought I was a bypass patient. Anyway, I only have ten more days to lose five lbs. I will try my best, but I won't be upset if it is only half of that. Being upset only makes me eat bad food.
  6. I know I have a 10cc band, but I am so confused due to the fact I had air in my band when I went for my first fill. I had restriction, then after they took the air out, I didn't . Anyway, I have been three times and I think I have 3cc now. I am going in Oct and Nov. I should reach good restriction then.
  7. Yea! My internet is back up and PTL! after six days we have power restored to our home. I went to see Dr. Davis today and got another fill. He said I only had 1.5 in my band and he put more in....I am not really sure how much I have now....maybe 3cc. I don't feel any different than before today, but I do know it may take a couple of days to feel the restriction. I kinda feel like you about the eating. I usually eat eggbeaters in the morning, then a cup for lunch and a cup for dinner. I get three snacks in too. I just have to journal or I can go over on the calories.
  8. Hey Bandsters! My internet just came back up and guess what?? I have power!!!!!!!!! Thank you God!!! I went to see Dr. Davis and he gave me another fill. I guess I was wrong about the amount in my band. I only had 1.5 cc and he put 1cc. It didn't do much, but I would rather take it slow. I am going for the next two months for fills. Once again, thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.
  9. I guess all doctors have there own guidelines. Dr. Davis just saw me nine days ago and wants to see me tomorrow for another fill. He said I just don't have enough restriction. I agree. I think I have 3.5cc now. I have set up appts for Oct and Nov for fills. Maybe, after tomorrow I won't need them. I have a 10cc band too.
  10. Thanks, JM. What's the scoop on your banding? Are you getting closer? After tomorrow, I am getting serious again with my new lifestyle. I really need the support from all of you. When I am not reading the posts, I get off track. I was thinking about joining the food addiction group starting at the Methodist Hospital. I think I am really addicted to food. My dad, Lord rest his soul, was an alcoholic and maybe I have that gene. It is a day, by day, battle. Well, I will post when I get back from the fill.
  11. Thanks Janet. Yes, it is still warm, but a front came in the day after the hurricane, so it has been in the sixties at night and eighties during the day. I know, I am so thankful. It just breaks my heart to see all the devastation. I have been through hurricanes before, but I think this was the worst as far as damage. Not one signal light in our city of 60,000 is working. Power poles are laying in the streets. 8,500 power people have come here from all over the US including Canada. Surely things will get better in a few more days. There are over 2 million customers without power. Thank God, I bought that generator.
  12. I can tell you where a few of us went.....we ran from IKE. I still don't have power, but just got internet. It is pretty bad down here in the Houston-Galveston area, especially Galveston and coastal towns. I am going tomorrow for a 3rd fill. I hope to get closer to a REAL restriction. I still can eat a cup of food at a time, and I know I shouldn't be eating that much. My dr wants me eating half a cup six times a day.
  13. I just got internet back a few minutes ago, but no power....we are on generator....bought that for Rita three yrs ago. It is devastating. Three or more towns were wiped out. They were east of Galveston. Many have died.....the first responders have not finished going through Galveston and the other towns. The eye wall went past us....high winds....a few tornados. Praise the Lord, we only had a little roof damage. I came back on saturday, but did not have a phone or internet until now. They put up new poles today, maybe we will get power tomorrow. Gas is hard to find and food , well, it is slim pickings. Lines are long, but the people are strong. Thanks for prayers and keep them coming. So, needless to say with all the drama I did not stay on program. I ate what we could find, and of course, I drank alot of Water. Before the storm came I had lost 4lbs ....only to find them when we got out of town. I am going for my 3rd fill tomorrow. I am hoping this will give me the help I need. I did Pb today on a low fat cheese stick with thin sliced ham. Boy, that hurts! Once, again, thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. I missed all of you!
  14. Yeah, I missed it. I love Biggest Looser. Maybe I will get back into Dr. Phil. Well, I got my tuna, water and protein shakes ready again for IKE. This time I think it is the real deal. We are under a voluntary evacuation, but tomorrow it will be mandatory. I guess we will board up. You guys please pray for our area(Texas Gulf coast). Well, I think this second fill has helped a little, but I still can eat a whole lean cuisine without restriction. Is that bad?
  15. I had a fill yesterday. My doctor gave me a numbing shot....then put in 2cc. I did not have any pain. I was on full liquids the rest of the day and soft food today. I can start back with a normal diet tomorrow. I am going back in ten days for another fill. I think altogether I have 3.5cc fill. It helps a little, but it won't help with the head hunger. Just write down everything.
  16. Janet, with me.....the band takes away the physical hunger, but if I am bored or anxious.....that hunger is hard to tame. What helps me the most is to write the time and what I eat or drink. And if I go too long without eating, I eat the wrong foods. I am hoping a couple of more fills will give me a fuller feeling. I will vote . I think it takes care of 50% of my hunger.
  17. Well, I just got back from my second fill. I found out I only had 1.5cc the first fill......no wonder I was so hungry. He put 2cc in and wants to see me in 10 days for another fill. Now, maybe I can see some REAL loss and not be so hungry. He wants me to only eat a half cup per meal or snack. Janet, I am going to make some more of that bean soup tomorrow. I am hooked on that stuff.
  18. It will definitely help your appetite, but this is a lifestyle change. Keeping a food journal is essential to weight loss. I am going for my second fill tomorrow because the first one did not do a thing. I have kept myself in check by journaling everything that goes in my mouth, and also starting an exercise program. I think it may take three or four fills to reach a "sweet spot". I would not have been able to keep my calories to 1000-1200 a day if it had not been for the band.
  19. I am doing good.....and I am struggling. I just don't have restriction....can't wait to get a fill on Monday. I did eat the pure Protein Bar. I think it is a good source of Protein, but the calories are a little high....and it has that malitol in it witch makes me have gas. I joined Curves. Gonna start on Monday. Yea! I care about you too!
  20. Thanks! I will get some.
  21. I had the same experience with my fill. Now, I have 3.5cc and I am so hungry. I am going in next Monday for a second fill. I have to journal all my food or I will go over on calories. I can eat anything. SCARY! I even gained a pound over the weekend.
  22. Yum! I bought a sf dk chocolate mochaccino pudding. Where do I get a pure protein choc bar?....what is the brand name? How much protein in it?
  23. Janet, I just found those sf banana with fudge topping at the store.....they are awesome. It is hard to believe it is on 60 calories. I am so glad Jell-o is has come out with new sugar free puddings. I am like you .....I can't give up my WW fudgecicles. I save them for my last snack in the evening.
