  1. I just got back from getting my 4th fill. Dr Davis numbs the port area before putting the fill in. I asked how much I have now and he said 5cc. I asked Dr. Davis about when the new"Big Medicine" was coming on and he does not have a date yet. I also told him about LBT and how all of you love the show. He said to tell all of you HELLO!
  2. DONNA.....I won't be on chat today.....I have to go to Houston for a fill. I NEED HELP!!
  3. awesome weight loss! Contrats!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. I have had several Pelvic ultrasounds. I drink a bottle of water on the way there and start on another when I get there. I never drank 40ozs and usually one bottle is enough. Don't go to the bathroom before the test or you will have to drink all over again. The test does not take long. I always warn them that my bladder is over 50 and they better hurry.:biggrin:
  5. Well, join the club. I have been going back to old habits too. It has stopped my weight loss. I go to the dr for a fill tomorrow. He will not be pleased with my loss. Oh well, maybe the fill will jump start me. Also ever since I PB'd last week I have a pain where the port comes out of the band. I think if the band had slipped I would be vomitting.:w00t: Hopefully, everything is okay. Long, every day is a new day on the lap-band journey. So, just wake up, and start anew. PTL! We are here for you.
  6. There are two threads you might like. "I am here to help" under Buddies/Mentors and "Hey, 50& over gang, we have a new spot". Everyone is really helpful. Come join us!
  7. I am hoping to get another cc on Monday. Bye the way, Donna, thanks for setting up the "July Butterflies" chat room. I think it will be a help to all on this thread. For you who haven't plugged in to chat room it is 1pm eastern and 8p on Monday night.
  8. AWESOME! Now what size band do you have and how many cc's?
  9. I have noticed that anxiety and stress seems to make the band tighter. When I PB'd the other day I had just brought in alot of heavy sacks from the grocery store. I sat down and ate a Lean Cuisine of fish. Two bites into it and it was stuck.....lasted for an hour. I usually eat the whole Lean Cuisine without a problem. So, maybe rushing around, lifting, and being stressed does have an effect on the band. And flooded Houston streets during rush hour is STRESS!
  10. Dr. Davis is conservative too. I had thought he would be aggressive since he wanted me to only eat a half a cup of food six times a day. He also favors bypass for those with a higher BMI. I need a sweet spot too. After PBing yesterday I realized I do have restriction, but not enough to be satisfied with a half a cup. I have a 10cc band with 3 fills and 3cc. I go on Monday for a fourth, and have an appt for November. Hopefully, when we get a couple more cc's in our bands we will start feeling satisfied. I do have an issue with head hunger and eating too fast. I am still thankful for the band. It did take away the gnawing hunger I would get, and then shovel all kind of bad food in my pie hole. For myself, usually when I get 90 days into a diet or weight loss journey I start falling back into old habits. Thank God, I have all of you for support. Support is vital to success. Hang in there! We WILL reach our goal!:thumbup:
  11. WHOOHOO!.....YOU GO GIRL!:thumbup::thumbup:
  12. I buy my Protein Powder from Bariatric Advantage online. I also buy their lap band chewable vitamins(lemon flavor). They have sample paks you can buy.
  13. You must have been close because a window came up with your name on it while we were talking.....try again tomorrow. Missed ya!
  14. Thanks for the reminder. I couldn't find my papers from the dr. I did drink water and then I had cream of wheat for supper. I am still sore right where the band is placed. I will stay on soft stuff today.
  15. CONGRATZ! ON THE 75LB. Okay, how many calories are you eating? Give me a sample of what you eat in a day. I need help! By the way, I got a flu shot yesterday. Then I came home and ate a lean cuisine..two bites into it and yuk! pb'd. It lasted for an hour. I am so sore. I think some of it is the flu shot. I don't know when I am going to learn to chew , chew , chew. You would think that I would have learned my lesson last week. I have never been one to throw up unless I am deathly ill, but yesterday I was praying that food would come up. It is so painful. Okay, TMI.
  16. So, what do we do?....click on chat and put in July Butterflies? I haven't been in the chat.
  17. Right. Again, I think it is good to take the time to know if you are really serious about the surgery. Maybe I did have a questionaire. I remember not answering several questions. I think they gave it to me before I went in for the consult. I had a consult, blood work, and was weighed all at the same time.
  18. Wow! 2HRS? My psych evaluation was about five minutes. They just want to know why I wanted to lose and have the surgery. They do this basically to satify the insurance and make sure you don't have serious mental issues. Don't worry. I think it is good to go through a process. It gave me time to make sure I wanted the surgery. Of course, It took me 6mos. to be approved which was a little long.
  19. Well, I have had a few colon surgeries....so you can imagine the problems I have had. Anyway, I take Miralax everyday......recommended by my colon surgeon. When you take in 60g of protein a day....you need help. Miralax is safe to take everyday. Yes, it is 30 bucks for a month supply, but beats the alternative which is diverticulitis. Also, don't forget fiber! Actually, not eating as much food has helped me alot.
  20. Phyl, my heart goes out to Janet and her family. Please tell her I am praying for them.
  21. CONGRATS! ON YOUR AWESOME WEIGHT LOSS! I eat a mozzarella stick with thin sliced FF lunch meat wrapped around it. Be sure and chew. It can get stuck. It is a 100 cal snack.
  22. congrats on hitting onederland! Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. CONGRATS ON THE 16! I could be 180 and have to wear a 16. Oh well, I will get there. I am glad the visit is going well. I'm sorry your parents got sick. I know they are proud of you. Well, my daughter is having back surgery on Oct 23rd. I will have to take care of her and my new grand daughter for at least 3 weeks. I know this will jump start my weight loss. I am not used to getting up every 3 hours to diaper and feed a baby. I hope my back holds up. This will be a challenge and a blessing. I just want my 32 yr old daughter to get some relief from pain. She is my baby. One more week till my 4th fill. Boy, do I need it!
  24. Go back to the beginning. Have you gone on the pouch test? I think it is somewhere on LBT. I know I got it from phyllser. She posts on this thread.
  25. Joiful, don't beat yourself up. It sounds like you have been dealing with other health issues and that can get in the way. 190 and 5'6......sounds good to me. Of course I have over a hundred lbs to lose. Have you tried just walking 30mins a day? And eating 1200calories a day? That is what my doctor recommends. He also wants me to eat 60grams of protein a day. It is working for me. I walk in the morning....and not fast. I journal my food which keeps me in check. It is slow, but at least I don't have that gnawing hunger I used to have. After your surgery you will be able to get back on track. Keep reading the posts, and get plugged in again. Maybe something will be said that can help.
