Yeah, shorties get the perks when they are young, but we pay for it when we are old. My mother was 5'0" until she got osteoporosis. Now she is 4'6". I think they are trying to pass a law in Texas that if you are under 4'6" you have to ride in a booster seat in the car. My mother asked me if she is going to have to ride in one. LOL

Cheri......I am so sorry you dad has Alzheimer's. It sounds like you have a real loving family. Hopefully everyone will do their part in helping your parents. Janet, You should have taught my nutrition class today. We talked about everything you wrote. I haven't gained or lost. I am having another metabolism test on Friday. This one is free.....Yay! My last test was a year ago. She wants to make sure the 1300 calories is still my resting rate. I am sure Dr. Davis will make an adjustment on my plan. Great, you can get those stress lbs off. Yep, that grass is never greener than our own. Apples, I guess you are gone, but you will be missed. Have fun with the kiddos! Laura, I would love to buy a spinner. I will have to hint to DH that he needs a new suitcase.

I think you are right. I take FM medication and bp medication. The dr told me the bp med I am on causes weight gain. I have been counting my calories and protein, but I haven't been monitoring my carbs. I need to go back and stay under 50 carbs a day like my shake diet. I forgot that you eat a lot of calories to maintain. We all have different metabolisms. I will probably buy the Optifast products today to supplement my new food diet. I don't think I am ready for a totally food diet. Great, thanks for the carb reminder! Janet, thanks for the pep talk! Apples, you and the gang keep me in check . Thanks for letting me vent. Okay, I walked.......gotta go shower.....go to nutrition class.....weigh.....babysit. Will check in later! HUGS!

Thanks! I just got in from walk #2 for the day. The rain and skeeters are gone........just sunshine and a nice breeze this evening. Apples, how many calories do you eat a day? I just don't understand why I have to eat so little and lose so little...it is not right!!!! I think I took off the 2lbs I gained last week. I will know tomorrow. I am eating eggbeaters for dinner.....gotta keep it light.

Well, I am back from doing the eye thing. Just took a minute or so. I didn't even have trouble driving with dilated eye. Great, I crochet. I found the best blanket to crochet trim around is a thermal receiving blanket. Also Leisure Arts sells a book full of trims you can crochet and then sew them on. I am making a blanket right now with three strands. It is so easy. I bought it online from Annie's Attic. They have the best patterns.

Good Morning! i am heading out to get my eye zapped.....taking the scar tissue off my lens. I also have to take my mother to get ingrown eyelashes taken out. It looks so painful, but she is a trooper. I take her every month. I walked this morning....boy, it was hot and humid at 6am. I will check in later!

Cynthia, I am glad you found your way back. Congrats on the 80lbs. Reading about your dad was so touching. I know you must really miss him. My dad passed away in 96 just a week after their 49th anniversary. My mother is still living. She is 86. I can't believe you have only had 2 fills and lost so much weight. I have lost 81lbs, but I need to lose at least fifty more. Sounds like your food choices are really healthy.....except ice cream. I guess we all have our guilty pleasures. I know I have mine......cake!

Mine is 1300. Sucks! So, if I eat 1300 I just stay the same. You know, I may need another test. That was a year ago. I am trying to eat 800-1200 a day and walking 60 minutes(30 in the am/30pm). The walking is taking a toll on my back . I think my shot has worn off. I don't want another one because it slows down weight loss, but if the pain down my leg keeps up I might have to get it. Yep, as we lose our AC thermostat temp goes up. My DH is colder than me. At least we can agree on the temperature now. I made a dessert today. Sugar Free pudding with fresh strawberries, a banana, and a handful of blueberries.....topped with sugar free cool whip. It is yummy! It is not on my diet, but it is a good choice.

Aw.....that is sad......so very young. MY last 24hrs I said I would have an unfill and eat, but I would have my last supper with family and friends. Apples, we missed ya! Sorry you have vertigo... that stuff is a real pain in the a$$. Julie, HUGS for you today! Pain is hard on men.....they are fixers, and when they can't fix the problem they get frustrated. Your DH loves you very much. He just wants to fix you. You know I had several surgeries within a few years and my DH was very frustrated. Then he had several surgeries and evened the score. So, now we moan together. Later gang!

Kimaly, Congrats!........Awesome!!! crzytchr,.........you can get on track again. Sometimes STUFF gets in our way and we get derailed. Congrats on the 14lb! Good dogs.....Congrats on getting to Onederland! That is my goal this year. Oneday.......I am glad you are hanging in for support. I know you must be stressed to the max with your job. Hang in there!! Well, I just did half of my steps this morning........skeeters and all. Boy, they are bad! I overate yesterday.....not bad stuff, just too much. So, no weigh change except I did lose the 2lbs I gained last week.

I finally found a chicken salad recipe made with Greek yogurt by Jillian Michaels. It has 145cal, 8fat, 6carbs, 13protein. I haven't made it yet, but it looks yummy. Eva, the halibut sounds yummy. I love fish. Janet, congrats on the weight loss. I did almost 8,000 steps today. I hope it shows on the scale. Laura, love the pic of Nelson. He is such a cutie. Joyce, is your son in the military? Enjoy your visit. Phyl, I saw your precious pup on FB. I think you made the right choice. Great, you made me hungry reading about the grilled fillet....yum! Judy.......I would get an unfill too!

Charlene, when you eat real food don't just limit the quantity. Check the salt content. Your apparant weight gain could be from water retention. Also, if you're combining carbs with meat protein, you'll store the fat. If you don't have the carbs, the fat gets metabolized and used up. That's why its protein first then veggies and maybe a little fruit when you're in the weight loss phase. You even have to limit your whole grains because they still do break down into sugar, often have salt in them, and they're often combined with things that have fat, which you then store as well as the water. Thanks Cheri! I do think some of it is water retention due to carbs. I have always had a problem with water weight. Usually my weight goes down about 3lbs when the fall comes. Meanwhile, I will watch the carbs. Linda, yeah, I haven't made the chicken salad yet. It has grapes in it so I might just cut the light mayo amount in half. Grapes make it so moist.

Julie, you would be a recluse in Texas if you stay in when the skeeters are out.....just kidding. Our city is really good about spraying, but we had one downpour after another, and they really haven't had time to spray. Off works for me, but I have to use a lot of it. Has anyone ever used Greek yogurt instead of light mayo for chicken salad?

Hey gang! I had technical difficulties yesterday and could not post. Great, glad you are going to get the test. It is helpful. I am in a program with Dr. Davis, but he doesn't charge as much as your surgeon, and I see him at least once a month. He has switched to Optifast. I checked out the bars online...whew! they are expensive. I think I will just eat food and finish up my protein powder. Joyce, did you get a slight unfill? I know about that pb'ing all too well. I tend to eat too fast and then if I don't burp......here it comes. I am like a baby........I have to get the gas out or the rest won't go down easy. Janet, thanks for keeping me accountable. I am journaling now. Linda, yep, Lifestyle......that needs to be my new word I say as i am going to sleep at night. Laura K, glad your DD got her furnitue. Okay, I gotta go bathe in OFF before I walk. The mosquitos are swarming from all the rain we had. Later!

I had technical difficulties yesterday. I am back up and running for now. Yep, I gained 2lbs. I ate too much during the 4th. I had stopped journaling since I started back on food. I am back at it now. Wow, it is the weekend again.....and rain. Yesterday another tropical system moved in. Hopefully, it has moved on. Okay, butterflies, we want to hear from you. How's it going?

Great, I think I paid 125.00 I may have gotten a small discount. Dr. Davis thinks it is important to know your resting metabolism . That means I can only eat 1300 calories a day to maintain my weight and eat at least 200 calories less to lose. Also, exercise is key. I think I had to fast for four hours before the test. The test last about 10-15 minutes. I think it is a valuable tool.

Janet,Yep, I gained two lbs. Well, I ate meat all weekend long. Yes, on Sunday I ate a cupcake......there! you got it out of me! But I don't think that caused it either. I have been eating too much. In class today she said when we plateau and go up and down it is probably time for one of those breath tests. It will tell exactly how many calories I should be eating. I am going DOWN this week!!!! Even if I have to ride my bike for three days. Another tropical system is moving in and three more days of rain. ugh! Linda thanks for the pep talk. It is definitely a lifestyle, and if you don't think so just try eating too much......lesson learned, but probably not the last time.

Love your pics. Sorry you had to freeze, but it looked like y'all had a lot of fun. I am getting ready to go to my mother's. I made her chicken salad with grapes and pecans and chicken pot pie. Then I am off to weigh..ugh! Got on the scale this morning and I think I gained 2lbs. I just can't eat BBQ brisket and expect a loss.

Laura, You are so right about travel memories for kids. We had so many kids we couldn't take big vacations, but I did send them on school trips. My friend took her DD to Europe every year to a different country. Now, her DD is a buyer for Academy and travels to Europe and China several times a year. I think all those memories paid off. Now, living in Texas I know a little bit about rednecks. They spend their checks mainly on BEER, BEER, and more BEER! UGH! And then fireworks.
