Fighting Family for Your Right to Eat Healthy
Just text a friend that gets FS and is a shake junkie. She gets the pre made Premier shakes at Walmart. Wish I qualified for snap. It would help a lot! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Fighting Family for Your Right to Eat Healthy
Ugh. @@Universoul_D Oh lord... No that does not mean they get to use most of the stamps! My understanding, is your going to progress, it's Soup now, but soon you need puréed foods. Ohhh I hear that SOME Protein shakes are covered by FS! I'm not 100% sure on this. If it has NUTRITIONAL values rather than supplemental values its covered. I would try to buy a couple and see if they pass. Those boogers can get expensive! Everyone seems old enough to make their own food and make their own money to get food. Time to lay down some law. Fighting Family for Your Right to Eat Healthy
You must have teenagers in the house... Honestly, I think the only thing you can do is sit them all down and make them understand that you are doing this for your health, not for fun. And while you do understand that they are hungry monsters, they need to leave something for momma bear. And seeing they enjoy broth and Jello soooooo much, maybe that's all that will be allowed into the house from now on. No more pizza, chips, soda, etc. and if they don't like it, they can go to a friends house and eat. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Abdominal binders. Are they worth it?

Why such a long process? (Rant)
@@KristenLe guess they rather pay my emergency room visits for the sever pain. But then also not want to pay for the pain meds that I need. I was supposed to be on Celebrex but those boogers are $300!!! Naturally the insurance didn't want to pay for that. I'm sure mines will be the longest track possible. Because my coverage is Nj health care. All they wanna do is give me a damn flu shot once a year but I can bet my life if I had a penis they would pay for me to take a pill to get it working Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Why such a long process? (Rant)
Why does it take so long from first appointment to surgery day? Can't all these tests be done within a couple of weeks? Papers don't go to insurance until all requirements have been met. Obviously, if you have a very high BMI and all the health issues that come along with it you need this surgery. What's with the proof of other methods tried? Yeah, I had a gym membership. Could t go anymore because it was just to damn painful (back and knee issues) but how do I PROVE that I actually showed up? I've told my PCP when I have gone on diets, but who's to say if she ever actually marked it in my charts? For all I know she thought I was making conversation. I k ow for a fact my insurance does not cover Optifast or any type of diet aid or pills. Cause it's cosmetic. HOW exactly can they prove I did or didn't drink slim fast or did the south beach crap? I'm still a long way from my first appointment. And after hearing it could be up to a year before a surgery date is rather discouraging. Hell, anyone can lose weight if all you have is broth and Jello. (Did that too for a couple weeks) lost and came right back because I got HUNGRY! it's insane all the "requirements" Feel free to add your own rant. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Deal breaker.
@@UpandAtom you are absolutely right. After posting this and seeing just how many ARE able to have coffee even if it is decaf or even a coffee flavored Protein shake. (Tricking the mid) it will be worth it. I created a short list of pros. 1. being able to breathe when walking. 2. BEING ABLE TO WALK MORE THAN 10 STEPS! 3. Arthritis pain will be reduced. 4. Being able to spend time with friends and family and not worry that I can't keep up. I have missed out on so many outings because I don't want to hold them up. 5. Lowering the risk of heart problems, blood pressure etc. (I have none of these) 6. Being able to buy clothes that don't look like a clown wiped his face on. MOST IMPORTANT. 7. Being able to watch my sons go from young men to husbands and fathers. Again, I want to thank the entire community here. Each and every one of you have given sound advice and always willing to answer questions and concerns. The level of support here is tremendous. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Fat feet. WARNING: gross photo included.
It may seem impossible, but it looks like you are definitely retaining water. How is the health of your heart right now? My feet weren't very big, but after losing only 23 pounds, I can definitely tell that they have lost volume on the top, and even in my ankles. I now have to tighten my sandals around the ankle because my ankles and feet are so much thinner than before. My exact thoughts. I was thinking about congestive heart failure. Definitely no issues with my heart. I was surprised too ... So was the cardiologist. Being 350lbs one would expect something wrong there. But, Thank God, no issues, not even a slight murmur with my heart. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
