  1. learning how to eat being restricted but will get unfil if needed.
  2. Hey Ellie, I go to the same support group. I'll look for you there.
  3. I am so glad that I found this site. I learned so much from everyone. I just had my 5th fill Monday and feel pretty restricted. Food gets stuck, I get chest pain and have reflux or regurgitation. I will give it 2-3 weeks to see if the band loosens up and then see my doctor for an unfil if needed. I'd rather be able to eat food than protein drinks which I did today to get protein in. But I will heed what everyone says about fututre problems. Thanks to much and good luck to everyone here having lapband issues.
  4. It's one month later. Is anyone still there? I've had 5 fills and have finally got restriction but it's hard to get the food down now without feeling chest pain. Any one with the same issue
  5. I HAD chest pain before and after my fills so I don't know if I'm actually restricted. I know before I was eating too fast or not chewing enough, but after this last fil I know I'm not.
  6. Hi Everyone I was glad to come across this site. It's nice to talk to people who are in this for the same amount of time. I was banded on 1/28 and just had my fifth fill and finally feel some restriction. I was getting very disappointed. I just had this fill so I can't make any sense of my eating patterns right now. Sometimes I can eat alot and sometimes only a few bites and then I get bad pain in my chest. I have increased my exercise. Usually walking outisde or the treadmill. I would like to get into bike riding too. It's just hard to motivate myself sometimes. It's easier to rest.
  7. Thanks for the help. This morning I only took 2-3 bites of egg and had chest pain. I chewed it well and took small bites. I stopped eating and started again when the pain resided. I probably shouldn't eat after the chest pain but I felt 3 bites is not enough to make me full. Any ideas about this? Thanks
  8. HI, I don't feel any food passing down into my stomach. Today for example, I just had a small portion of eggs. I ate a couple of bites very slow and thorough and then had chest pain. I couldn't believe it happened so fast. I took a break and then ate the rest of the eggs. I think something is wrong with this picture. I think I should be able to eat the whole egg portion and then feel full without chest pain. I can really use some insight. This is my fifth fill and I finally am eating less, so I don't really want to have any taken out. What are your thoughts. Thanks.
  9. I just had my 5th fill on Monday. Since then, sometimes I can eat alot and other times only a couple of bites. When I can only eat a couple of bites I usually have to throw up to get rid of the tightness and chest pain I feel. Is this restriction or what is it. Appreciate any specific examples of what it feels like to be restricted. I really need help and don't want to call the doctor just yet. I've been able to get 5 fills within 3 months and would hate for him to want to take any cc's out.
  10. Jenny I really appreciat the details of only being able to take 3 - 5 bites without throwing up because I am doing the same thing. Although tonight I ate chicke and salad with no problem I only had my fill 2 days ago that led me to this major decreased eating. Do I need to adjust to this fill, or will it always only be 3-5 bites befoe throwing up. I open this to everyone on the site. Thanks
  11. Hi Everyone It sounds like we're all in a similar boat. I had 4 fills with no restriction. I did feel chest pain at times but the doctor said this was because I wasn't chewing enough and eating slow enough. I just had my fifth fill and I'm not sure I'm having restriction because I'm still having similar symptoms. Is it that the food gets stuck in the esphogus - but I don't understand why it wouldn't go into the smaller stomach. Is that because there's food there from the last time you ate something. I'm really puzzled and if anyone out there could tell the difference to me between stuck and restriction, I'd appreciate it. Since the fifth fill I have been eating much less, feeling chest pain like before and having to throw up to get rid of that stuck feeling. If there anyone there with some guidelines are of restriction and how you feel and what heppens to you when you reach restrictionl. Thanks so very much.
  12. Hi Girls, I know exactly what you're talking about. I'm in bandster hell too. I have no restriciton and have had 2 fills. I am having my third fill tomorrow and hope to get some restriction at leas to give me motivation to watch what I eat. Everything goes down now. Let's hang in there until restriciton. I hear it really works once you get there Caryn
  13. Girls I've been going through the same thing. I'm having my 3rd fill tomorrow and hopefully the doctor will "fill it up: like you said. I hope I'll be out of bandster hell. But I'll have to follow with 2 days of liquids so I'll really see when I return to food. Lets hang in there until we reach the sweet spot everyone talks about.
  14. I am finally getting my third fill tomorrow. I hope for some restriction as I have none now. I'm thinking I have a really big band and anything can go down right now. Hopefully the doctor will be generous with his cc's. Let you know. Caryn
  15. I wanted to give a shout. I was banded on 1/28/08 and am having a hard time keeping the weight off I lost on my liquid and mushy diet. I can pretty much eat anyhthing with no problems with the band. No PB or slime yet. I hope I make it okay through the weekend,. I go for my third fill on Tuesday. Anyone in the same boat?
  16. Hi everybody. thanks for your posts. It's still a trying time. I'm struggling with watching what I eat. I have trouble drinking water and get disappointed in myself. I am starting anew today. I will do good on my venture on ""a new lifestyle"". But oh how I wish I had restriction.
  17. Renee I know exactly what you're going through. Maybe you can update me so I know what to expect. I'm hoping for restriciton at my 3rd fill so I can eat less than I am now.
  18. Bibo I was worried I damaged my band from eating also. The doctor gave me a sipp test to calm my nerves. There was no damage or slippage and I had shoved 2 pieces of pizza into my mouth. So it is unlikely you did any damage. But if you feel unsure you can talk to the doctor, I would call them with any of my concerns and they've always been helpful. Good luck. P.s. changed my user name to cowgirl.
  19. I've been wondering how others are doing. I was banded on 1/28/08 and am 2 months post. I've had 2 fills but have no restriction. Where are others in this process?
  20. April I know exactly what you're going through and I chalk it up to not having restriction. I eat too much of the wrong things also. I stopped losing weight once I introducted food back into my diet. I had a good day today after gaining back 4 lbs from my liquid diet. I had no choice if I didn't want to gain my weight back. So just hang in there. I find that when I focus on having protein, either liquid or food that helps alleviate the cravings for carbs. I dread exercising and it takes me hours till I force myself onthe treadmill. So I am at the same point as you and know exactly what you're talking about. Let's all try to stay focused on why we got the band.
  21. I will be honest. I am not at my sweet spot 2 months post - op and I've been eating regular foods. The thing I fear is gaining back the 30 lbs I lost on my pre and post liquid diet. I already gained back 4 lbs. I am back on track and have to use willpower to help me through. Too bad I was never any good at the willpower thing. Anyway, just don't gain like me. It is very upsetting.
  22. Shortgal Good luck with your vacation. I know it's hard. I can eat the same as you. It's been 2 months for me and 2 fills and no sweet spot yet. All we can do is try to "diet" (can you believe this) until we reach restriction. The main thing is not to gain any weight back. Hang in there.
  23. KAT817 I don't know how I did it but I was able to paste my ticker on another thread following your directions. Do I have to transfer it to every entry I make in the threads or is it supposed to follow my entries? Anyway, I am still in bandster hell. I have had 2 fills and still no restrictions. I was disappointed to hear on the other site that it can take 9 or more months to get restriciton. How do I hang in there. The food keeps calling my name. Talk to you soon and thanks again.
  24. Kabinz I'm so glad to see that you finally got the restriction you need. How many fills did it take you. I've already had 2 and am very frustrated now. I'm gaining back the weight i LOST on my liquids and am very upset. Do you eat out at all or just at home? Than
  25. Kat Thank you. I'll try it. Caryn
