  1. OOPPPSSS!!! Sorry, I thought I was posting in Mississippi. I live on the Gulf of Mexico. Way, away from Oregon. Have a great evening.
  2. Starting my adventure with this procedure next week. Is there anyone here from the coast? Are there any groups down here?
  3. Hi, I am on Tricare and got my referral approved yesterday. I go next week to a required seminar, then on to the doctor appointment. Tricare used to not pay for the lapband, but they do now. It's real easy. You pay a co-pay $12 for doctor visits, and depending on how long you stay in the hospital, a maximum of $25. I was approved for 4 visits, but the more I read about this procedure, I see where 12 visits may follow the surgery. Humane told me, the doctor will request more visits. I'm sure it will all work out.
  4. This is a great thread. Do you think people with higher BMI do the pre-op diet? I know mine is 43.
  5. Believe me, I wasn't trying to be rude or crude. I have more reading to do. Thanks for all the imput. Have a great day.
  6. Ok, yes I am new here, but I got great news today. My referral was approved for the Lapband. I go next week, to an one hour seminar, then the doctor appointment will follow. My question is, this pre-op diet, does it cause you to just empty your insides? Like when you get ready for a colonoscopy? Complete cleanout. I know thats crude, but I don't think there is no better way to put it. I am so excited I found this site. Great questions, great answers. Lots of points of view and opinions. I have struggled with weight since 7th grade and I am now 47. Now, it is my time and I feel the lapband is what I need to help me take control. Hope to get to know alot of you and have you all walk with me, down this new road to a wonderful, new life. Darlene:thumbup:
  7. Any comments on this doctor? Anyone?
  8. Just wondering if anyone has any comments on a Dr. Snow in Mobile, AL?
  9. One of the doctors I might see, in at Oschner Hospital. Is there anyone here, who has had the lapband done here?
  10. I live down on the coast.
  11. My name is Darlene, which someone is already using, but please call me D'. I am being referred out for the lapband surgery. I have researched gastric bypass, seen the good, the bad and the ugly of that surgery and have decided against it. Several cousins have had the lapband surgery and are doing great. I'm anxious yet ready. I have been heavy since 7th grade. And am just tired of carrying this weight around. I have tried Weight Watchers for 2 years, lost 25 lbs and put 15 back on. I have tried over the counter meds, but each time my heart felt like it was going to jump out of my body, so I quit taking them. I have alot of questions. So get ready.
