Scale
Same. I am staying far away from the scale for at least a week/ week and a half. I know if I get on it will be with expectations. And I am certain my body is still retaining a ton of Water. My only priority is making sure I don't have to go to the hospital again and healing at this point. Once we get this out of the way then we can focus on the losing aspect. Gastric sleeve Nov 7
I was honestly scared to death I was going to damage myself drinking too fast. I have a 64oz Water bottle I ordered and I small cup I marked at the 4oz line. I make sure my cup is always full and I'm able to get around 66 oz a day. Just sipping my life away lol. I got afraid in the forums that I was going to be sent to the hospital for dehydration. So I made sure that's the first priority. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Gastric sleeve Nov 7
@@Marisa*sleeve I was truly miserable for the first while doing the liquid diet. I think it sends your body into shock just changing your diet so abruptly. I was getting horrible migraines and I was beyond moody. It gets better. I think your body just needs to adjust. I feel like staying hydrated is probably the best thing you can do. Also the clear liquid "lift" Protein drinks got me through (also much cheaper then isopure) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How soon does weight loss begin?
I was sleeved on the 7th and I think I'm going to stay away from the scale until the swelling goes down and I'm feeling more myself. I don't want to focus on anything but healing properly at this point. I will end up driving myself crazy if I start weighing at this point. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Shoulber pain
Hello! I too was sleeved on the 7th and I honestly had no way to be prepared for the pain in my shoulders. My stomach was sore obviously but damn that gas pain was just horrendous. I don't think I'm out of the woods because I'm definitely still a little sore but stretching my arms out and moving them as much as I can. My heating pad has been my savior since I got home! Congratulations on your surgery! I hope your getting better! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Anxiety and depression
Everyone heals differently and adjusts to changes individually. Keep your eye on the prize I was sleeved November 7th and I had one mighty melt down about it after the fact. Easier said then done but you know why you've done this, and this time of pain is such a small portion compared to how much your life is going to improve. Side note for some reason I didn't expect to wake up in so much pain it's so overwhelming. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Insurance paying for protein drinks....
I'm sure this has been asked before but this post is a decade long lol. But I just applied and it said thank you for registering with insure nutrition. Does this mean I have been approved or shall I still be standing by expecting a phone call or email? This is very cool thanks for sharing this little bit of knowledge, I never would have thought this was an option. now that I posted I realize I definitely didn't look hard lol. Hindsight is 20/20 I'll tell you what. Thank you again!

Finally sleeved!
I was sleeved 11/7 and the first day I was so in and out of it I don't think I had much time to even consider how much pain I was in. Now yesterday before I got to go home I had a little meltdown because I hadn't slept well the night before the nurses were coming in constantly with shots getting blood work etc. on top of that the gas pain and the soreness in my abdomen was just too much I was SO ready to go home. I am feeling a thousand times better in my own bed not having to be strapped up to several things that I need assistance with just to use the restroom. There truly is no place like home! Im so happy your doing well! Congratulations friend. Sending healing energy your way! You will do great! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How long does it usually take to get surgery date?
My entire process took approximately 4 months I began my journey in August and I'm getting my surgery done November 7th. Call your insurance and ask them if they will be requiring a supervised diet & how long to get an idea for your situation. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Vitamins during clear liquid diet/mushie diet?
I can't find the answer to this question anywhere so here goes. Is it okay to take your Vitamins while your stomach is still healing? I would think the capsules may trouble the new sensitive and healing stomach? Is this true? If so how long until you can begin taking capsules? Thank you! A sigh of relief
I have been approved by my insurance and my surgery date is set for November 7th. My birthday is November 5th and I truly can't think of a more beautiful way to welcome in a new year for myself. I am so incredibly excited and ready for this new beginning. I have been so terrified of the insurance company pulling this out from underneath me that now that I have the okay I feel like the weight of the word has been lifted from my shoulders. Waiting for insurance approval....
So I got a call back today and they need additional information about my weight loss attempts in the last 12 months this put my mind at ease a bit because it wasn't a "denial" but I still have a wicked pit in my tummy I'm not going to lie Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Waiting for insurance approval....
And let me just tell you something. I'm not a Patient women. I'm losing my 'effing *hit man. I'm on day 10 of waiting and trying to be a normal human about this because I feel after how long it takes to do all of this from thought to right now I would be a world class champion at the waiting game but now it's so scary to think that it could all be extended that much longer or this could really be it. I'm so ready for this to be underway I am ready for the next chapter of my life to begin. I'm terrified of being denied. Is it normal for it to take this long? I'm freaking out guys. K that's all. just needed to vent. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I need someone to ease my mind (money matters)
I'm under blue cross blue shield my co-pay for my hospital stay is going to be $2,500 (I checked and checked again and this is indeed the correct amount.) I will also be paying 15% of what it takes to perform the surgery during my consultation I was told this wouldn't be more then $3,000 dollars. I have a massive pit in my stomach. I understand a copay will be expected upfront, but if I'm going to be expected to pay the rest of this upfront I'm probably not going to be able to get this for up to a year. Does anyone know if payment plans can be made in something like this? Any experience anyone can offer to help ease my mind? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Advice from ex smokers?
Hey guys! Just posting an update I am on day 4 now and I am doing better then I think I thought I ever could have. Day two was an absolute train wreck for me emotionally but all in all I want this surgery to better myself more then I've ever wanted anything in my entire life. It's keeping me motivated. My only complaint is as expected this change has driven a definite wedge between my friend and I but I have to keep on reminding myself that I need to stay focused.
