  2. Sleeved 11/9/16 HW: 260 SW: 242 CW: 159 Sizes: (pre surgery) = size 2x and 20W pants GOOD-BYE LANE BRYANT! (currently) = s/m and 6 pants HELLO EVERY STORE IN THE MALL!!! I FINALLY BROKE 100 although the weight is slow.slow.slowly coming off now. I'm okay with that (most days)... I still choose protein 1st, limit carbs, and weight train a few times a week. I don't log individual nutrients but stay mindful of popular concerns (protein, carbs, water, fat, activity, etc). My body doesn't seem to tolerate some things as easily as it did before - I no longer eat pasta of any kind, have difficulty eating rice and bread is severely limited. I don't miss any of it except the sushi rolls... which I still have, just only a bite or two rather than a roll or two !!! LOL Pre-surgery I would indulge in ice cream every.single.day. I have absolutely no desire for ice cream or brownies anymore. I use vanilla premier protein instead of creamer in my morning coffee... The 2nd best decision I made was to hire a personal trainer. Besides building muscle, it's rebuilding my confidence. It's helped in becoming more social and it's holding me accountable - it's an investment I'm thankful I can make and one that addresses many areas within - physical and mental. I feel so much better in my clothes, too! It's very encouraging to see the progress of others. I've picked up a lot of tips from these forums and find many things about them to be useful. I do however, try not to get caught up in comparing myself and my journey to everyone else. It took a good long while for that to sink in my head - not everyone moves along at the same pace. In the beginning it was sometimes discouraging for me (I'm a wee bit competitive). Hind sight, I'm where I need to be and am moving along just fine. I.Am.Happy.

  8. I often order from the appetizer menu or get a cup of soup. When I have a choice, I like "tapas" restaurants so I can order small bites. I too take home a lot of leftovers.

  16. I absolutely LOVE this stuff! Mint chip is my favorite, too - I also like the lemon. My store is always out of the birthday cake so haven't been able to try yet...

  19. I was self pay too. For me, even the cost of the Protein shakes is far less than my iced coffee addiction! I made daily stops at Starbucks / Dunkin' Donuts, etc which really adds up. Coffee was my liquid crack - I could not function without it - if I could intravenously take it, I would have. Now, I don't eat out nearly as much as I use to and when I do, I'm not ordering an appetizer/meal/mixed drinks but a much smaller order. I also agree with @reree6898... Plus size clothing can be very expensive so being able to shop the sales in the 'other' departments has been nice (although, I can see myself wanting to buy more as I lose more..). I didn't realize all the little 'things' I treated myself to to overcompensate for the misery I felt being so overweight. It definitely adds up. It is an investment for sure, but if I can live a little longer, know I'm healthier and be a lot happier then, I'll ride this out and repay myself a little at a time.

  21. @rubia72...I was sleeved by Dr. Dietrick on Nov 8th! How are you doing? I had an uneventful / easy surgery and was going along just fine... until now...I've met that dreaded stall and it's really playing with my mind.
  22. I am in Tampa too!! I haven't had my surgery yet - I am scheduled for November 9th with Dr. Dietrick. Very excited (and nervous). I'd love to hear how your surgery went and how you're doing post-op.

  24. November 9th! YIPPEE!!! This pre-op diet is killing me! I hope all the others are right when they say the headaches and nausea eventually subside.... Definitely excited nonetheless.
