  1. Day 2 of the liquid diet down. I am struggling but I am making it. I didn't realize how much energy food actually gives you. Day 1 wasn't so bad, but by 6:30 pm today, I was ready to sleep. I stayed awake but I feel drained. Is this normal? Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App

  9. I am at the surgeon's office right now waiting for my surgery date. They told me that I may have messed up my surgery because I had put on 20 lbs over the past 17 months due to the fact that I gave up a long time ago. I thought this surgery was not gonna happen. Now I am scared that it really may not happen. Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App

  11. My preop appointment is Tuesday 9/13. This is when I will be given my surgery date. I have been excited since this has been such a long journey. Now I am started to get nervous. I am worried that something else is going to get in my way and delay me again. I am keeping my fingers crossed that there are no more issues. Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App
  12. How do they test it? With blood or urine? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App My surgeon does a urine test. I believe most others do as well. Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App
  13. @@sandeeb, Preop appointment, when I meet with the surgeon, go over test results and be given my surgery date. Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App
  14. I was also initially tested as part of my initial labs. My surgeon requires 2 months nicotine free so I quit in July (as soon as I found out my surgery was approved). I believe he will test again either day before or day of. Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App
  15. @@KristenLe, I'm gonna PM you Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App
  16. @@KristenLe, isn't your preop in like 6 days? Mine is in 5, my anxiety is kicking in again..... Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App
  17. After the delays I have dealt with I can't believe Preop is almost here! I will then have a date!!! I can't wait!!! Still keeping fingers crossed that he still has room on his September schedule! Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App
  18. This and Baritastic Social are my support groups. Because of my work and school hours, I don't have time to attend in-person support groups. Granted, she shouldn't lie but why are you worried? Not trying to be mean but everyone becomes successful in their own way. Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App
  19. @@Marissa.Ann.C Thank you. I started this about 2 years ago as well. Got denied once. I am now just waiting for preop to be told my surgery date. As long as nothing else happens, I will be having surgery before the end of September. Good luck to you! I hope everything works out for you this time!
  20. @@Djmohr, Yes I am aware of that fact. I am just hoping that my body will tell me when I eat something that I shouldn't have. I understand that it sounds strange, but it may be what keeps me from going backwards again. I agree that both are going to be hard work. And you are absolutely right, the best way to decide what is best for you is to do research and make an informed decision.
  21. So with the few hurdles that I had to get over, my preop has been moved to September 13. I will receive my date then! The surgeon's office said I am still looking at before the end of September!
  22. I am still preop, but I chose RNY because of the higher rate of weight loss. As strange as it may sound, I also believe that the dumping will be helpful. Knowing that I can get that sick will keep me from going back to any of my old habits.
  23. Maybe! Sent from my SM-G530T1 using the BariatricPal App
  24. @@KristenLe, my surgeon is Dr Vithianathan (University Surgical in Providence). Medical says that I am a candidate for a home Titration study. That will put my on an APAP instead of the CPAP which is fine. I am back on the preop schedule for 9/13 unless they can squeeze me in sooner. Surgery will be within 2 weeks of that!! I am back to being happy!! Sent from my SM-G530T1 using the BariatricPal App
  25. sleep study was done at New England Pulmonary and Sleep Clinic in RI. I will be making phone calls tomorrow to figure this all out. Something just doesn't seem right at all. Sent from my SM-G530T1 using the BariatricPal App
