    Messed up

I'm 6 months post open and i still have a hard time with meat. Causes me great pain, and i even throw up the only relief I can get then is to take some baby gas drops. I've heard you can have some serious repercussions if you overdo. Sent from my SM-J100VPP using the BariatricPal App

    Regretting Surgery!

I'm struggling getting the 60 gr. Protiens are you supposed to get more than that? Question= has anyone had to fast for bloodwork after the surgery? If so did it throw you outta whack? Meaning. .. I had my surgery in May and got pretty much past all the nausea and vomiting but a couple days ago I fasted for some bloodwork and they took out 13 tubes of blood since then, I've been feeling sick, no energy, having hard time eating again everything makes me nauseas and hurts my stomach. What's wrong with me? Sent from my SM-J100VPP using the BariatricPal App

  9. Get your classes done first, after the classes the certificate you get us good for a year, then you can schedule all the other things. The classes usually give you a format of what needs to be done and when. Sent from my SM-J100VPP using the BariatricPal App
  10. There are times you reach a plateau don't panic, just keep working your new tool. You'll get there. I have heard conflicting things on what and how much your supposed to eat. But I have talked to my daughter who had the Bypass surgery over a year ago, and what worked for her. She said to eat 800 calories a day and your 60 grams of protien a day. I keep a daily food journal and my daily counts, it helps me stay honest. Sometimes i go over but try to stay as close to the suggested counts. I had my surgery in May and since my journey began with the classes before surgery i have lost 83 pounds. Wishing You the best ! Sent from my SM-J100VPP using the BariatricPal App

    Sigh pre op urgent care

A little confused if your nausea and vomiting is before surgery or after surgery. If it's before surgery you need to make sure there is No virus or infection is going on. Have you seen your primary care doctor to find out. They may have to delay your surgery for your own protection. But don't panic you'll still get there. If the nausea and vomiting is after surgery, I would suggest baby gas drops. And sugarfree popcycles. Praying for the best for you. Sent from my SM-J100VPP using the BariatricPal App

I had the bypass last May I've lost a total of 80 pounds since the beginning of my journey. I like lipstick lady already, she sounds like my daughter life without her would be boring as hell. Complicaions

I've been having great progress since my surgery in May, but I'm my last bloodwork they discovered that I'm now showing signs that suggest Hypoparathyroidism, they told me to take some calcium. Which I have begun, their only other instructions were that they would monitor it and keep an eye on that. Just wondering if its something to be concerned about, or am i blowing it out of proportion? I had my surgery in May and I'm getting stronger get and better and skinnier everyday. And I'm 62 I wieghed 377 pounds when i started my journey i wiegh 300 pounds last visit. I had several health issues when I began this journey, in fact pre l.p. I was still in a wheelchair but now I'm walking on my own, still going to physical therapy and getting stronger everyday. I have COPD and even that is getting better, when I first began I was on oxygen 24/7 now I'm only on it in the evening and as needed. I have psoriatic arthritis and that is still outta control, but thier changing my medication and that is supposed to help. Having the surgery was the best decision I ever made, wish I did it sooner. 19. My husband has added a little banana and peanutbutter to the vanilla shake, it was really good plus you get extra protiens from the peanutbutter and bannana. I have also added the flavored smoothie mix to the shake which also adds to the protein counts, tastes like berrybor strawberry. I have also added a little coffee to mine was good. Conflicting info!

Debd80 I have no idea what type surgery you had. All I can tell you is what I've been doing which has been working for me. I had the bypass in May when I began I weighed 377 I now way 304. I keep a daily food journal, keeping track of my daily protien intake and my daily calories. I keep my daily calories at 800 and my protiens at 60 they at vary up are down a little but i keep it as close as humanly possible to those numbers and so far so good. 21. I had the bypass in May was having same issue , the Ground hamburger in little portions I tolerated fine but everything else I had same reaction. I keep a food journal and noticed it's mostly chicken causing me to vomit. I introduce it slowly back in, shredded pork went well because it's cooked really well. 22. Andre, What is your calorie intake a day? I'm keeping a food journal keeping track of my daily protien counts as well as my daily calorie count, they should have given you guidelines to go by. Check with your doctors mens may differ slightly than women's. I try to keep my calorie intake at 800 a day i may go over slightly some days, and my protien daily count at 60 I believe I adjust that further down the road, I had my surgery in May and I'm still losing slow and steady about 3 pounds a week plus or minus. I was 377 pounds when I started my Quest I weighed in at 304 pounds this morning. I've increased my exercise a little bit everyday too. Sent from my SM-J100VPP using the BariatricPal App
  23. Purchase some baby gas drops before hand they help along with the pain med liquid Tylenol with codeine. Remember don't drink from a straw you'd be surprised at how many people don't do that. Sent from my SM-J100VPP using BariatricPal mobile app
