  1. I haven't made any of these, but I love Serious Eats website.
  2. I would guess you qualify. If employer is paying for the coverage it would sound like you qualify. See if a letter from HR would resolve the matter. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I am scheduled for August 4. I am so excited and so nervous.
  4. Please take your sleep apnea seriously. If you are not breathing when you sleep, you are not getting sufficient oxygen to your organs. It can lead to heart failure and kidney failure among other problems. My mom died at the age of 57 largely due to untreated sleep apnea.
  5. Sounds like you are covered. I got lots of different answers when I was trying to figure out the requirements of my insurance for approval. I'd ask for a copy of your plan. Might be able to get it from your HR dept.
  6. Nutritionist said that if you get dizzy or lightheaded to sip one cup of broth (not low sodium)
  7. Take your shoes off. Slouch a little. One inch is the difference of an entire point on my bmi. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Going in today to schedule surgery and I am nervous. I love the before and after pics. Any stories on how much better you feel? Pains that are gone, energy levels, etc? Thank you for the support.
  9. I know it's difficult for me sometimes to be good when my wife decides to diet. When she became pregnant it was difficult to cut back my alcohol and sucked that we couldn't both belly up at a bar like we used to. I still very much loved my wife. Maybe you focus more on your own intake and let him focus on his own. Sounds like he was supportive since he was there with you to get the surg and was considering it himself. Maybe you find you have a hubby 40 lbs overweight that still very much loves you. I'd go to Vegas. You battle the temptation, you got the tool. I would be a little more generous when he slips. He doesn't have the tool. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. My pre-op nutrition appt is tomorrow and I've grown so anxious. I needed to see this. Keep up the good work. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  11. Look, I love to drink, and I haven't had surgery yet. It's half the reason I need the surgery. The way you describe it, you are hurting yourself at a much faster rate than ever with food. Weening ain't enough. If you care about your health, and the surgery shows you do, talk to someone. No judgment.
  12. Well, Cigna did me right. I'm approved for August 9-10. My doc's office said that they had to put a specific date on there or it would have been denied. They also said that it would be good for 6 mos. Does anyone know if that means I can't be scheduled before that date?
  13. Your body fights losing weight. It's part of the reason we all find ourselves here. You'll overcome it. Just keep it up. And, when you've dropped your weight start to point out hubby's love handles. Or talk about the cute guy from work.
  14. Mine was just submitted in the past couple of days. This is my first post. Hope to be having surgery before the end of July.
