  1. I'm about 7 months post and my face is progressively getting drier and drier. To the point that I'm putting aquaphore on my face at night, which is pretty gross. Most days I make the 64 oz water goal but not 100%. Is anyone else having this issue? It sure doesn't help the wrinkles I'm getting on my neck and face from fat loss.

    Dry dry skin :(

I was reading about that last night. Ordered some orange fish oil packets on amazon today. I'm really hoping it helps. My husband and I noticed reddish dry spots on my neck today.

    Self pay?

I self paid with a personal loan. Outside of marrying my husband, it was the best thing I've ever done. There's a bariatric "center of excellence" in Kansas City that is $11k for sleeve. They were amazing. I was far too terrified to travel out of country myself. Lots of people do with great results though.

    Dry dry skin :(

I'll have to try coconut oil tonight. It's getting ridiculous.

I told my husband this morning that I can't wait to have a Spanx fire! Sent from my SM-T550 using the BariatricPal App

    September 2016 Sleevers!

Woah, I didn't know that. I guess I should find that out ASAP. I'm almost a month out now. Sent from my SM-T550 using the BariatricPal App
  7. The subject of regain has been bouncing around in my head as I approach my surgery date. I like everyone else have a big fear of going through all of this only to have my own brain sabotage me years later. I have been looking into a lot of types of therapy and support and wonder if anyone here has tried out hypnotherapy?
  8. A man who is pre-op in my bariatric support group told us his surgeon wants him to do 3 months of bariatric Vitamins before surgery. I thought it couldn't hurt to start on some myself, I'm about a month out from surgery now. I know the fusion chewables are popular but they're the hard chalky type, I can barely eat those now yuk. Can anyone recommend a good gummy type? Sent from my SM-T550 using the BariatricPal App
  9. My understanding from everything I've read is lower starting BMI's lose at a slower pace. I am at 35 myself, and am fully prepared for this to be a longer haul than some others. Sent from my SM-T550 using the BariatricPal App

    Bariatric Vitamins

Thanks ShelterDog64! That's super helpful. My fear is buying an expensive Vitamin that won't agree with me after surgery. I'm going to look into those Patches for sure. Sent from my SM-T550 using the BariatricPal App
  11. My sleeve date is September 15th, so to make recovery easier I unfortunately attempted to quit caffeine cold turkey. I normally have about 2 cups coffee in the AM and maybe 1 diet coke during the day, so not a huge amount. Once I hit the 24 hour mark I basically got the flu. 7 hours of feverish vomiting and pounding headaches ensued. I asked my husband to kill me please, luckily he didn't. I finally threw in the towel and drank a soda last night. STEP DOWN....please don't make the same mistake I did! Sent from my SM-T550 using the BariatricPal App

    Quitting caffeine

Thanks for all the advice. I talked to my coffee lady today and we're going to do 1 small coffee each day for a few days, then half-caff for a few days and then all decaf after that. I wish I wouldn't have even tried that this weekend, oh well live and learn. I really hope to stay off of it for good this time. This is probably TMI but my doc has been telling me for years that quitting caffeine would reduce the cysts in my breast tissue that cause me pain around that time of the month so might as well. After caffeine it's on to sugar, which I don't think will be quite as bad.

    September 2016 Sleevers!

Yep, September 15th in Kansas City!
  14. I just found out that the reshape dual balloon can actually qualify as the 6 month medically supervised diet program requirements for insurance approval of the sleeve or bypass. Has anyone had any experience with this device? I'm interested but it was just FDA approved last summer apparently so there's not a ton of information out there on it. My problem, like many others on here that fall under BMI of 40 is that I'm quite certain that my BMI will be too low after 6 months to even qualify any longer for the surgery but it's a tempting idea.
