  1. I still go to the movies. If I want a snack I bring it with me. Either a protein bar, box of raisins or nuts. I always bring a bottle of water. In the past I would need 2 or 3 now I am lucky to drink the 1 during a movie.
  2. Lots of useful information in this thread. I am 6 months out and from reading this thread I think I need to eat more. I did notice that depending on what it is I can eat more and I do get hungry at times now.
  3. Hmm I don't think I ever had the cookies N cream milkshake from there. Thanks for posting. I am using the premade premier protein shakes at the moment but will keep this in mind if I need/want a change.
  4. OK some background. I am pre-op just started my 2 week liquid diet on Monday for my surgery date on December 6th. I had my preadmin testing at the hospital yesterday then I had to go to a class about the surgery. In the class, we were told to make sure our Protein powders/protein drinks after surgery contain whey isolate and not whey concentrate. Now the information I got from the nutrition classes specifically gave pictures and names of acceptable Protein Drinks. Why did they have Premier Protein on there (which is what I ended up getting) if is doesn't have whey isolate? (I checked ingredients as soon as I got in my car and got my shake) I am going to get my notebook out again this weekend and make sure I am not making this up. I know the one appointment they girl specifically told me to try premier protein in chocolate. I already shelled out all this money for these shakes so I will be drinking them no matter what.
  5. I too am a tax season person. I pushed to get everything done for THIS year as if I couldn't get it done by December (my surgery date is December 6th) I felt I would have to wait until after April 15th.
  6. I have never told my fiance. He asks at times and I blow it off. I ask him what he thinks I weigh. He always says WAY more than I really am but I have never told him. I expect him to find out on surgery day as I am sure the beds at the hospital will be the beds that weigh you.
  7. Lemon in your Water to help flush out some water. How much weight do you need to lose?
  8. HI Kristin May I ask why your mom does not want you to go to anyone at Virtua? I am using Virtua - Dr. Wasser in fact and I just got my surgery date December 6th. I chose Virtua because it is convenient for me location wise and they have monthly support group meetings. That and they covered under my insurance. My friend used Dr. Neff and loved him. There is actually an informational meeting before the support group tomorrow night at the Moorestown location if you wanted to check it out.
  9. December 6th here - I already joined JANUS
  10. I am really trying to resist some awesome sales right now. I have my cart full and came here to see what other people do. My surgery date is December 6th and I was thinking of getting some pants now while there is a VERY good sale going on. AHHHH
  11. Only thing that comes up is a musician. I would love to join.
  12. HI there I am in NJ, I just finished everything you are about to go thru (tho the support meetings were not a requirement for me - I have been going to them every month) I just got my surgery date - December 6th and my surgeon is Dr. Wasser. We have very similar stats.
  13. Hi everyone I finally got my approval from the insurance and my surgery is scheduled for December 6th. WOOHOO
  14. I have been warned about this. I am usually cold at work as it is I do not want to even think about what it will be like after surgery. On the other hand at home, my fiance always wants an electric blanket and I am usually hot when I sleep so he will love that, or maybe not if I steal all the covers. LOL
  15. HI everyone I am currently waiting for my surgery date and a billion things are starting to pop into my head. Right now I have this whole allergy/congestion thing starting and it made me think... What can we take when we are sick? Obviously NSAIDS are a no no but what about mucinex, nyquil and other cold or illness go-tos? I don't think I will be able to take anything in pill form right?
  16. I hear alot of this in my support group meetings. I drink alot of Water now - almost the only thing I drink besides unsweetened ice tea. I am afraid of this happening to me after surgery. (I will find out my date next week) anyway does adding lemon to the water help? Or would I need to get those drink powders - I try to stay away from artificial sweeteners and everything I see has either aspertame or sucralose in it.
  17. I heard from the girl at the surgeons office. she will be calling me next week to setup a date. She thanked me for being patient. HA I don't feel like I am being patient tho I am trying. LOL
  18. I got my approval letter from the insurance company!!! YAHOO Now just waiting to hear from the surgeon to find out when
  19. I felt like a criminal when I had to get my prednisone refilled a few times, you should have seen me go round and round with the pharmacist on that. The dr. changed my dosage but according to the "computer" I wasn't due for any more. I can only imagine what it would be like for pain pills.
  20. Congratulations, I am playing the waiting game. My insurance says its takes 30 BUSINESS days for an answer.
  21. I am hoping for a November date but as long as it is this year I will be happy.
