  1. Hi! I got approval with NHP in about 2 weeks time. I had a bmi of 40 with sleep apnea as a co-morbidity. I had the surgery on 8/11 and have lost 34 pounds thus far. Good luck with the approval process. I hope you hear soon. The waiting was tough but once you get the approval things move rather quickly. Where are you having the procedure done? I had mine through Brigham and Womens at Faulkner Hospital. Dr. Neil Ghushe was my surgeon.
  2. How was your approval process with Neighborhood Health Plan of Mass? The waiting is killing me????????????????????????????
  3. Has anyone used Neighborhood Health Plan Insurance? I just slid by with. BMI of 40 and sleep apnea. I'm waiting on pins and needles until I hear back. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  6. @Amyd103- what insurance do you have? Luckily, does not require the 6 month supervised weight plan. What happens when your BMI is borderline already and then I lose weight for the pre op...? I'm a nervous wreck until I know I have approval. I'm sure I'm not alone
  7. I'm borderline on my BMI ( it's 39.5)My insurance (NHP) covers the surgery if your BMI is less than 40 but with a comorbidity. I'm going to do a home sleep study to see if I have sleep Apnea. I'm just a few pounds shy of a 40 BMI, if I'm able to reach the necessary weight to up my BMI, will the surgeon submit that number to the insurance company or the lower one? Im not sleeping until I hear of an approval from my ins company. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. I've been trying to gain a few more pounds. Which weight do they submit to the insurance company? I'm assuming it would be the highest one. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. I'm being tested for sleep Apnea. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Does anyone know if NHP is difficult in getting approvals? I have a BMI of 39.7 I'm having an at home sleep study done but I'm worried if it comes back negative for sleep apnea. Thoughts?
