  1. July 22nd.....getting close!!....and pre op diet sucks.....2 week liquids for me....fallen off the wagon a couple of times and ate a salad.....never thought I would feel guilty about a salad with fat free dressing....I'm at 671 calories today and I feel guilty....there's just something wrong with that! LOL
  2. What's the name of med?Emend. That's an anti-nausea med. Odd he ordered something that expensive. I'd hope you have ZERO nausea! That's what I said! After paying $50 for a pill that retails at $130 I better not have any nausea!!
  3. My surgeon said he will TRY to do it in one surgery. I've not had any slippage or other reason to think there would be a lot of scar tissue. I'm praying. 4 more days!!!
  4. What is the patch for? my doctor called me in one pill that I'm supposed to take the night before surgery. $50 after insurance for one pill!!
  5. I have my surgery next Friday and plan to return to work the following Thursday. That will only give me 5 days to heal but it's a desk job. I'm hoping it will be enough!
  6. Day 7 of the liquid diet here. I can't stand the canned chicken or beef broth so I went and picked up WonTon broth from the Chinese take out. It's great! Also I find that if I make my own sugar free jello instead of the snack pack one's it is much better. For the constipation mentioned earlier, the Smooth Move tea is perfect. Not too strong. No cramps. We can do this!
  7. I picked up some WonTon broth from the local Chinese take out and let me tell you after 6 days of sweet, it is deliciously salty!!
  8. I'm scheduled for the 22nd also! I am half way through the 2 week liquid diet....UGH!!!....No one has said anything about blood thinner shots though...as a matter of fact they told me not to take my daily baby aspirin for this last week before surgery..... I'm getting the revision surgery from lap-band to sleeve...hopefully....My doctor said he will try to do it all in one surgery...fingers crossed!
  9. Thank you for your response. That is exactly my situation! I have been told all along one surgery and now at this last appointment he says, weeeeelllll...probably two....My insurance approved one procedure and I've not had any other surgeries other than having the band put in two years ago so I am praying it all happens in one.....I made it very clear to my doctor that I didn't think I'd be able to take time off of work or get a second approval from my insurance company. My doctor said he does mostly 2 surgeries because only 1% of sleeves leak if done in 2 surgeries compared to 4% leaking in one procedure. I said I would take the 3% risk. If he takes this out and doesn't sleeve me I will feel like I have wasted all my sick time, endured weeks and weeks of liquid diets and undergone 2 surgeries to end up right back where I started from 2 years ago. I wasn't too worried about this procedure until he told me this and now I'm very stressed about the whole thing.
  10. I went for my final doctor appointment before my surgery on July 22nd today. My insurance has approved me for band to sleeve revision all in one surgery. I remember my doctor mentioning when we first discussed revision surgery that it is done in one surgery unless there is a lot of scar tissue or something. I didn't think too much about it because I've never had hernia surgery or gall bladder or any other abdominal surgery other than the lap band. So today he tells me that most of the time the revision is done in two surgeries! I am really upset. I can't take time off work and burn up sick time, money, energy etc on a third surgery! So I guess my question is how many of you were told it might be two surgeries and woke up sleeved? Do most doctors just say that to cover the behinds?
  11. I buy the tea at any grocery store. Smooth Move. They are wonderful!
  12. I'm converting from the band to the sleeve. I will be on vacation from June 25th to July 4th. Then I start my liquid diet on July 7th and surgery on the 22nd. I just started a new job and I only have a few days sick leave. The plan is to have surgery on Friday come home from hospital on Saturday. Sunday is my birthday! Then it looks like I'll need to be back to work on Wednesday! It's a desk job so I hope this isn't too optimistic of a plan!
