  2. I'm just coming up on 3 months post op and I have a really hard time eating chicken. I used to love chicken pre op but now no matter how I prepare it, it just doesn't agree with me. My stomach seems to have a hard time digesting it and I get that stuck feeling. At first I thought it was because I'm eating too fast but consistently I feel the same misery eating slow and small. Anybody else notice this pattern with chicken? Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  3. Hello Everyone I'm about a month post-op and I've had leg cramping nearly every night since surgery. My doctor suggested I up my salt intake in the evenings by drinking bone broth but that doesn't seem to be working. Has anybody else experienced this? If so any suggestions on how to manage this? 4. I had surgery on the 13th as well. Congrats. I've been eating yogurt too. How much is too much? Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  5. Are there any bariatric support groups in your area? Someone involved in one of those groups may be able to recommend a therapist. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  6. Thanks for you response. It's great that you are in much better health. Fortunately I'm not suffering from any comorbidities like diabetes, hypertension, etc. I'm trying to get ahead of those things before they bite me in the ass. Congratulations on your success and cheers to good health! Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  7. I'm scheduled for surgery on the 13th and trying to plan my post op diet. From what I've been reading it seems as though it takes quite a bit of time to drink a Protein shake after surgery. For those of you who mix your powder with milk or almond milk, do you put it on ice to keep it from going bad? Do you keep a stash in the fridge and only pour out a little at at time? Do you have an insulated shaker? Thanks in advance for your help!
  8. OKCPirate thanks for the tips. I'm glad to hear you are doing well and I do agree diet is the main factor is in all of this. Thanks again for taking the time to post.
  9. Congrats on your progress! Hearing your story is motivating. At my heaviest I was 340. Between 2009 & 2010 I lost 100 lbs through diet and exercise but over the last few years I have been unable to maintain the loss and gained nearly everything back and thus past September I weighed 322. Over the past few months I've dropped down to 305 but now I'm up to about 310. I'm looking forward to having surgery and days of feeling overall good health. Thanks for posting and good luck. 11. That's incredible! Congratulations. I'm 39 and have been overweight my entire life as well. It's definitely taken some time to accept that surgery is something I should consider but I'm glad I've reached this place and I'm looking forward to better health. I wish you continued good health. 12. I'm scheduled for surgery on the 13th and I am curious about results for men who started out around my size. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  13. It's not surprising that a lot of folks suffer from depression after wls. Many of us have used food as a coping mechanism for years and after surgery that primary way of coping is gone. Feeling depressed may be a result of not being able to use food to regulate your emotions. It might be good to seek help from a counselor or support group. 17. What size Blender Bottle do you all recommend? 20oz, 28oz...? Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  18. I'm still pre op, but we recently bought a Brezza baby food maker that steams and blends in one step for our 9 month old. I'm totally planning on using it for the puree stage. The instruction book has some great recipes and I'm sure their website has some great ideas. There are a lot of combinations I wouldn't have considered such as a turkey prune puree and other interesting combos. It's great because you can put veggies and raw Protein and cook it all together. 19. Hello, I'm starting out at about the same weight. How have things gone for you? Lowest weight? Saggy skin? About how tall are you? Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
