  3. I really anticipated I would get more clear signals when to stop and how fast to eat. I've never thrown up but can easily eat a cup of sugar free pudding or half cup of a Soup. I notice when eating meals I pause and wait for hiccup and then stop. But I don't feel "full" and I often feel "hungry" I swear my stomach even growls - I think I fall into that dreaded is my pouch too big - have I sprung a leak??? Would I know? I know everyone has different criteria but at 9 days post op I'm allowed soups- and some mushy textures after 3 Protein drinks and of course stay away from sugars and such Thank you for your advice in advance- other than a raging allergic reaction to steri strips and insomnia and 2 days of volcanic acid reflux (I feel this has been better than anticipated) Starting weight 270 Total loss 27 lbs Post Op loss 11 pounds Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  6. Sleeved on 25th. What are your daily Fluid and Protein goals? Also I've been noticing this strange pain at the top of my stomach - like an acid like gurgle??? Can you relate? Is this normal? I open one capsule 2 times a day and mixed into pudding for acid control Thank you for your help! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. I had surgery around the same time as you. I was really excited with week 1 and I haven't lost any weight week 2. So there it is - huge investment and huge change and it's still going to take time. I know for me the sooner I accept this - the better will be. Good luck hang in there! Sleeve

I'm so sorry- the tightness in your chest (although) may seem strange is a feeling people experience at the top of their stomach (according to my Surgeon) so I would think perhaps you are having access inflammation at that point - the cause would be another speculation at this point. Really the only advice I would give if it really becomes bothersome just go to the ER and don't wait. It could be a problem better helped sooner rather than later? I had surgery the same day and I'm returning to I guess my new normal and although I have some discomfort I'm not experiencing pain much anymore. Speedy recovery and well wishes Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  18. One week from today I have surgery and today was my preop - with the exception of 2 spoonfuls of pb butter and 2 broccoli florets I've been excellent on the liquid diet. So I was hoping for a big number today .... 3 pounds ish - that's it!! I was totally jaded and thought "great ~is this a thing of signs to come"- trust me I have weight to loose - felling a little salty - been on preop for 9 days - been on ketogenic diet during medical supervised and lost 6 lbs total Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Sleeves and PCOS

I have PCOS and I gained weight- honestly I wasn't trying too at all. So the goal became maintain- I had to diet to maintain. Trust me I can't loose weight- during weight loss supervised visits I ultimately lost 2lbs. :/ However between my last weight loss appointment and surgery I had 3 months. (Surgery is next week) during this time I started planning what changes I could make to really help me post-op. I discovered the Ketogenic Diet. So I thought I'm going to start trying it now. Honestly I hadn't ever tried this diet before and it seemed different. I have PCOS and 2 kids with Autism and I've lost 10 pounds. Now I know I've lost weight on the liquid diet so I'll have to see how much tomorrow. Metformin ultimately helped me treat symptoms of PCOS and loose weight- perhaps talk to your PCP about that. But I have learned for me - I can nearly zero sugar in my diet that includes artificial sugar or I won't loose at all and will slowly gain. Best of luck. I never binged really and was a fast food eater - but a total emotional eater I am. We on this board know BMI is complex thing and it doesn't always translate into this person just eats junk and doesn't try. Keep your head up Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  22. I got a call from my surgery coordinator- that my urine analysis showed slight Bacteria but it always does. I don't feel like I have a UTI - am I alone here anyone else. Of course labs showed prediabetic (but that's not new) surgeon wants my PCP to "sign off" that he knows so I can proceed I'm a PCOS may 25th sleever (hopefully) on day 3 of my liquid diet -and I have two kids with Autism- I regret not having a food funeral & I love hiking! I'm happily married and looking forward to a healthy lifestyle in the near future. I want to thank y'all who have been so kind to respond to my many questions- great support here!! ***oh that should say problem with preop surgery labs!!! Scared of Pre-op diet

Okay I mentioned this is in a previous posts but someone said crystal light and sugar free hard candies really helped keeping your mouth busy. I'm on day 3. I've had a few tiny slips- like a bite of broccoli and tomato. I'm not a broth person but I went to a restaurant got a clear broth Soup and strained it (my surgeon was okay with this) the flavor and warmth was really satisfying. So maybe I'll be doing that once a day. It was incredible how my body responded. I obsessively think about food which really isn't like me. But..... I don't know how much weight if any I've lost but I can tell my body is detoxing Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. I would love to hear from people and if they had symptoms on preop diet. Currently I'm 3 days in - surgery scheduled for the 25th. Obviously I'm hungry but today is better - but I feel like I'm sweating and urinating more than I usually do- of course that could just be that I'm nervous about a huge life change thank you so much Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    how much can I lose?

It strange for me too. I'd like to loose 150 but now with sleeve two weeks away I started to really read online that by not using the traditional bypass I may stand to loose less - (on average) People loose 80-100 pounds. My doctor suggested the sleeve and I didn't really push - although now I wish I really would of pressed for more reasons why/why not. I have seen men loose more on the sleeve however. My cousin was 400 pounds (over a bit) now he weighs 210- shockingly he doesn't even have loose skin but he's 24. Best of luck Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
