  1. Here is my before and after picture. I had gastric sleeve surgery May 4, 2016 and the picture on the left is from April 17, 2016, I weighed 310. The right is Oct. 20, 2016 and my weight is 208. I've lost a total of 102 pounds in just under 6 months! Even though I went into this with the goal of being successful, I never dreamed I could have been this successful! This journey had taught me so much about myself, that I am courageous and strong, that I can do things that I once thought were impossible. Last summer I went to Yosemite National Park with my family, and sat on a bench while they hiked around, I even cried because I felt so pathetic! This past summer we went to Smokey Mountain National Park, and not only did I hike but I hiked up some pretty steep paths!! So many things have become better having dropped 100 pounds. I am so happy I made the decision to have the sleeve, it truly is the best thing I have ever done for myself!!
  2. I have a question that hopefully someone can answer. I had gastric sleeve on May 4 and ever since then It hurts to swallow. It's not super painful just uncomfortable. Even if I just take a sip of Water. My question is what has changed about my esophagus? I don't understand why my esophagus is acting so differently. Any help? Blah

I feel the same way. My mom keeps telling me she sees a difference but I don't. I've lost 44 pounds, shouldn't that be noticeable? But what I think is happening is that is all fat that was all around my organs. So now my goal is to ramp up my walking and hopefully I'll see more changes. Good luck! 5. I am currently in the postop purée phase, and my doc said WENDYS chili is ok. So tonight was a busy night and I bought a small chili and it puréed really nice and tasted great. I could only eat a little less than a quarter cup but it was a welcome change from tuna, eggs and yogurt. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Anyone get sleeved in May?

I had my surgery on May 4th. I am still on a full liquid diet, which is mainly yogurt, cottage cheese and creamed soup. I miss sitting with my husband and kids at dinner. I have just been staying away since it is hard. I'm feeling like this was a big mistake. I hope I feel "normal" once I can eat again. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  7. I just came home from the hospital yesterday my surgery was on Wednesday. I am hurting everywhere. The day after surgery I was feeling great but the day I came home and today have been really rough. My hips and legs hurt so bad I'm in tears when I try to get up from sitting or walk. Anyone else have a similar experience? And if so, what did you do to ease some of the pain? I have to admit, right now I'm thinking what the heck did i do to myself? 9. I am currently on the 2 week pre-op diet, and hungry all of the time. I have a question for all of you who are post-op, are you hungry all of the time or has the smaller stomach reduced your appetite also? I feel like half the battle is conquering the hunger right now.
