Ok, so in addition to it being my birthday today, its also the 1st day of my pre-op liquid fast! Everyone is bringing me cupcakes but I cannot partake! LOL...but seriously, I'm a bit grumpy today perhaps from not eating, and the caffeine withdrawal headaches are constant! Well, my goal is in sight, my VSG is this coming Monday, June 6! Keep a good thought going for me guys...will keep you updated!

What is 30.30.30 rule?

You must live for yourself...your daughter now has her own life and family. Is she willing to take care of you if you DON'T have the surgery? I'm sure she means well, but if you have prayed to God about this and feel certain its necessary for you, she will come around. People try to manipulate you into doing what THEY want by different means (like not talking to you). If she loves you and is there for you before the surgery, she should be there for you after. Don't give up - you may never get this opportunity. GOD has got you (you're never alone) so go ahead, SEIZE THE DAY!

I have finally been cleared and approved for my sleeve surgery!!! I almost had to call it off (rescheduled 2x) after having a minor stroke earlier this month. My surgeon required clearance from a neurologist and I had to go thru a series of tests because of it (echocardiagram, brain MRI, lung CT scan). WHEW! I'm finally scheduled for June 6 (my birthday is June 3) and I am so ready! One last hoorah this weekend (Memorial Day) although I will still eat smart. Let's go! WOO-HOO

Thanks ProudGrammy....Your words were so timely and came at the perfect moment! My surgeon just told a few minutes ago that my surgery has been postponed until June 6. I am so bummed out! Due to the minor stroke, my surgeon wants me to be cleared by a neurologist and that doctor isn't available to see me before Tues 5/24 (my former surgery date). AGH!!! Yes,, I know God is in control and I have to be patient...I've come this far so I can't quit. I'm just very sad right now...

@@Suga Renique Reborn i know you didn't like the postponement of WLS it was better to find out prob sooner than later how are you feeling now? headaches?? has surgery been rescheduled yet?? like you said earlier.... you, hubby, grand-kids will reap the benefits from your sleeve take care of yourself good luck kathy

This is my last weekend before I begin pre-op diet (only for 3 days before my sleeve surgery, which will be 5/24). I don't want to go overboard, but I will be drinking vino and coffee this weekend, two of my favorite beverages. I know that once I'm sleeved, those will be no-nos, at least for the 1st several months. I am not looking forward to the headaches that will come from caffeine withdrawal and the liquid pre-op fast, but since I'm come this far on my journey....ONWARD AND UPWARD!

Are there any sleevers out there that are singers? I'm having my surgery on 5/24 and I'm wondering what it will do to my voice, since the sleeve surgery is done near the diaphragm (and everyone knows a singer uses their diaphragm- LOL!!). My singing voice is one of the most special gifts I possess and I want to know if my sound will change after being sleeved. Thoughts?

Well my sleeve surgery was moved to 5/24...12 more days before my life changes for good!
