  1. Or am I pushing it? I have been struggling with my weight for as long as I can remember but it has been almost a year since I was told that I'm going to lose the weight (prophecy.) I'm actively researching WLS and am praying asking if this is what i should be doing and my appointment with my PCP is in 2 days. I haven't really gotten an answer but I want to be correct in my decisions. What should I do? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. So am I! But it seems in a post earlier she said the leak stopped. So that's always good. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  5. Thank you all for the encouragement! I have my appointment in two days and will let you guys know how it all goes. I definitely want this. I guess I'm just nervous because the only person who is supportive is my twin sister. My mom yelled at me, we got into a big argument over it and my other sister thinks I'm just joking around. But I've been fluctuating all my life and want to have a some what steady weight and be more confident in myself! Wish me luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Nope, I mean the pain just started so it's nothing that my doctor has written down. I don't know if it would look good if she writes it down the day I mention WLS. Diabetes run in the family but Thank God I don't have it and no high blood pressure or sleep apnea. My old doctor did mention PCOS but was formally diagnosed. I don't know if that counts as a condition. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Oh no! Sorry to hear. That's what I'm afraid of :/ I don't think I have a condition to be approved. I guess I should start looking up other ways if I were to be denied. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Thanks I didn't think of it like that. Especially since what I've read Medicaid may not approve me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Thank you, I've realized that because on CytoSports sent me a sample. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I was wondering how do I mention WLS to my doctor? When it comes to important things like this I always freeze up and stammer. I don't want to sound uninformed and I don't want to hear her tell me I shouldn't consider it. How did you tell your PCP? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I will be taking off a week. But it depends on how everyone heals and if there's any complications. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  13. I guess it different for everyone. Just asked because I'm getting my wisdom teeth taking out and it will be about 2 hours or more. And so I was wondering if it would be long or less. I know it's two different surgeries but it's the first of what seems to be many..
  14. Do you know of a website I can visit to check? I heard of the 6 months of you have a BMI of 40 or less. But I'm over 40 close to 50 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. Isn't it said that with WLS you are expected to lose 60% to 90% of excess weight? But you seeking to lose 25 pounds? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I heard if you have Medicaid and you fit under a certain criteria, you can be approved rather quickly. I have a doctor appointment this Monday and I'm going to suggest WLS because after being this overweight for this long I'm fed up and ready for a positive change forever. I have friends that joke and say if I have Medicaid then I'll get approve for surgery the following day but I'm not sure if there's some truth to that. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Good for you!! Congrats I know it's different for everyone but should I even see a gynecologist? I have my doctor appointment for Thursday because I'm tired of not having my period. But my doctor appointment is Monday. I heard that if you have Medicaid you usually get approve for surgery Quickly. I don't know how true that is. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. In looking forward to loving myself and body. I look forward to being more confident, being able to jog/run. Going to the amusement park and not being scared to know the belt won't fit. Being able to go through a turnstile. Going up the stairs and not breathing heavily. Being able to stand on my feet for a long period of time. Ah!! NO more pain!! Wearing anything I want. Not buying clothes 2 size to big to hide lumps. Loving the gym again. Jumping rope. Going on walks. Just being in control of my life again!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  20. Just wanted to know if you guys have any websites that offer free samples. I e tried the sample forums on here but the seem outdated. Plus the companies on the websites aren't offering any samples right now. Would appreciate some suggestions! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  21. Swimming! Swimming is the best all around exercise as far as I am concerned. I swim laps, do Water aerobics, use water weights, work my abs (crunches, etc.), and stretch. Great idea!! I always wanted to learn. Now I just need to find a good/clean pool that isn't too expensive? Any idea where I should check? I've tried YMCAs but it $300 for 2 sessions! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App The YMCA is $300 for two sessions of what? I used to belong to Y and they did have an initiation fee and a monthly membership fee. Group exercise classes were free. They did charge for swimming lessons. Is that what the $300 dollars is for? I know my Y did have financial assistance available if someone was in need. I currently belong to a Wellness Center associated with our local hospital. I have a discounted membership because I got a referral from my PCP. Their group fitness classes are also free. The swimming lessons also have a fee. I'll have to go in and see, I believe it was for two beginner swimming lessons. Thank you! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  22. Try Noom Coach. It puts your intake in a pie chart. I find myself want to see more green than red. (Which is good for you food vs bad for you food) and congrats on your weight loss!! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  25. My worst date was probably when I met up with this guy from online and we went to the park. Didn't mind that because it was a beautiful day. As we are walking around and chatting he tries to kiss me. Which I reject but then decides he wants to play "hide and seek." I spent the next 30 minutes looking for him. Until I find him in the part of the park is secluded. Jumping over branches and dead tree stumps, I find him fondling himself. YUCK! He precedes to tell me to come over insinuating we were going to have sex. I immediately leave and find my way home. All the way home, I'm receiving creepy messages and very R rated texts. I'm glad he didn't know where I lived and that I was able to block him! Never used online dating since!! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
