  1. Hi Kendra, yes, congratulations for getting through and surviving your major health issues! Hope you are approved for surgery, and that it happens soon. As for waiting, I was there myself. I was supposed to be operated last July 2015, but the pre-op tests showed I had Graves disease ( very hyper-thyroid), so I had to come back once my thyroid was stabilised. This situation made me wait 9 months, and I was finally sleeved early March 2016. Still, better wait than possibly die on the operating table due to thyroid storm ..... As for the "worst" time, for me it was the first 2 weeks post op, on the liquid only phase. I was hungry a lot and sick of fluids only, but I persevered. I also got really bad acid reflux, and this got better weeks later on a different script. Nexium was the only drug that helped me. Now, 6 months later I weaned myself of Nexium very slowly, and so far so good: no more reflux. So, all the best for you. Hope all goes well for you
  2. Today I hopped on my scales, and I am now 22 Ib (10 kg) away from my stretch goal! So, I am still losing weight, yay Bit slower now, but still losing!
  3. @@novemberkilo Best of luck for tomorrow! Hope all goes well for you It is great that your op is early in the morning! My admission was at 2 pm, and I didn't get operated on till 7 pm. At least the pre-med drugs I was given, put me to sleep, so the wait didn't seem that long ..... All the best!
  4. Yes, here's to bulges getting smaller and smaller, and then disappearing! Here's to the shrinking us !!!
  5. Too funny! Keep them coming
  6. @@Inner Surfer Girl This is a wonderful and enjoyable NSV. Very happy for you Congratulations!

    Money .....
  8. @@proudgrammy 3rd time LUCKY, as the saying goes. May everything go well for you with fantastic results! You deserve it
  9. I had a lump or 2, one was reasonably noticeable. Can't remember how long they took to disappear, but they did adventurually. I also had to brace my abdomen whenever I needed to cough or sneeze. Any sudden movements would be painful for me, early post op. You just had a major surgery, so it will take time to heal. However, as Lisa said, if you have any concerns, call your surgeon. Good luck.
  10. I started suffering from panic attacks years ago. The only drug that helps me is Klonopin (Rivotril) as it works well for me and I don't get side-effects. Depression runs in my family, so I have been struggling with it on and off for decades. I am currently on Effexor, after a long break from it. It is helping me, and as Wellbutrin, it does not increase appetite. I find that ongoing major stress often ends in depression for me. It is like my body and brain need a rest from upsetting events that go on for a long time. @@britt_lewis2011 In the past my hyper-thyroid disease made my metabolism very high and quick, so any binges I had, I didn't pay the price for them. In the past 2 years, my thyroid disease did a 180 degree turn, and I developed diabolical cravings for sweet and fatty foods. So I put on 90Ibs from 2014-2016. After being sleeved in early March 2016, chocolate made me ill, but I can eat ice-cream .... and melted cheese. At least now it does not happen often. And I mainly ate more at some nights, when my thyroid disease kept me up awake till 5-6 am, and I was hungry, as dinner was long time ago then. Good luck to you, I hope you feel better soon!
  11. I had a week off Thyroxine, re-started it today on 50mcg. Still feel hot, started to sleep bit better. Headaches are less frequent, and not as nasty. My blood pressure is still doing cart-wheels, so I have to remain on Beta Blockers for a while yet .... My hyper-thyroid state made me feel very tired. Have about 24 Ibs to lose for my stretch goal. Hopefully then I can remain on a stable dose without any nasty side-effects.
  12. @@Feekenstein Best of luck with your surgery today! See you on the other side
  13. @@healthylife4evr I don't know the answer to this, as tolerating different foods post op is very personal, and it varies. I started adding a teaspoon of sesame oil about 4 months post op, and it has been fine. I use olive oil spray for cooking, and I have been fine with this too. Have a rest from olive oil for now, and try it every few weeks, perhaps, and see how you go.
  14. @@nprcowboy Glad to hear that, and I hope this turns around for you soon! For the better! Have you spoken with your doctor regarding your weight still increasing? As far as I know, Paxil causes weight gain also, although treating major depression has to take priority! As far as I know , Effexor and Wellbutrin don't cause increased appetite and weight-gain. They may not be suitable for you though, I don't know ..... maybe you can ask your doctor about them, anyway. Try to get back to high Protein, low carb eating. Hopefully high protein will keep you satisfied for longer time. Good luck and hope all gets better for you soon.
  15. @@pnt38 I was lower BMI, and I lost 66 Ibs (30 kg) in 6 months. I am 13 Ibs away from my goal, and 24 Ibs away from my stretch goal. Here is a link for this forum's Stall info sub-forum: http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/1102-dont-sweat-the-stall-stuff/ Loads of good info there. You can have some carbs, but in form of fruit and green/white non-starchy veggies. I noticed that whenever I indulged in ice-cream or frozen yoghurt, my weight-loss would stall. Soonest I stopped eating these sugar laden demons, My weight-loss resumed. Good luck!
  16. @@TheRev I was allowed coffee first day post op, and every day since. Just like I was drinking it pre-op. Never had any issues with it, at all! Just pure enjoyment The only difference is that I no longer use Equal sweetener, and substituted Stevia instead. I drink it with milk, hot or iced. I love Gloria Jeans Beans, like Black Knight, Caramel, Hazelnut flavoured beans. In the afternoons I switch to decaf, so I can sleep at night. Oh, and I often drink through a straw, lol So, if you don't get acid reflux with drinking coffee, and having it white/with milk makes it less acidic, then enjoy your true love ......
  17. I had no coffee restrictions. Had my first cup first day post op. Been drinking it daily and never had any issues with it. My surgeon did not want me to have caffeine withdrawals and he preferred me to have my coffee
  18. @@Leather'nLace On MFP, go to Home, then Goals. My NUT gave me suggestion how to fill out the percentages. So, for me, daily calories is 800 Fat 25%, which is 22g Protein 40% which is 80g Carbs 35% which is 70g I never did anything with the Micronutrients box, I checked now, mine are at 0 also (Poly, Mono and Trans fats), but I never get any reds - negatives. So, can't help you. There is a Help button and Community button, perhaps you can find the answers there.
  19. @@Christy5913 Thank you! I actually just had a cut, my hair was longer still. Yes, the weight loss is great. I felt such a frump, and I forgot what I looked like, until I found few more pre-op photos. I am still not at goal, but I hope that by Christmas I will be there. Christy, you look phenomenal, and beautiful. You have such beautiful face and hair, and you have done an amazing great job with your weight-loss! You are an inspiration! So, we can inspire and motivate each other
  20. Purees from day 15 for me. I had 2 weeks on liquids post op, then 2 weeks runny purees, then 2 weeks soft/mushy, then gradual progression onto solids. I was adding stock and yoghurt or sauce to my savoury purees. They had to roll off the spoon easily. To Breakfast purees I was adding runny yoghurt and soft fruit like bit of banana or papaya. I was stewing pears at that stage. Plus I was adding Protein powder to all purees, had an unflavoured high Protein Powder. Still use it in the mornings with my regular yoghurt and grated 1/4 apple, these days.
  21. @@KristenLe Congratulations! Yes, finally although it is only a month from now. I had to wait 9 months because of my hyper thyroid ....... now that was disappointing. Good luck with the pre op diet. The swallow test gave me massive runs afterwards .... And with blood thinners, I had to inject myself both pre-op and then for a week post-op. Anyway, I am looking forward to your journey and the New You! All the best!
  22. Good stuff! Glad all went well
  23. @@LisaMergs Yay, Congrats! You look fabulous! Yes, I know, those bathroom shots are tricky ...... toilet can steal the show ...... Enjoy your new you and your new jeans
  24. @ Do the Brazillian! Great de-forestation with minimal pain And it lasts forever!
  25. Thank you Christy! Your hair and face, and body look beautiful too! Awesome transformation, Woohoo !!!
