Rough Visit
Hans good to vent when you are upset, we just need to not eat when we are upset. Did you gain 41 lbs? I went to my PCP for my letter of support, I left with my tail tucked between my legs. I really like him and was so excited for him to hear my plan for WLS. We became very distant and talked about how people regain the weight, ext. He gave me the letter it was one sentence long, stating my BMI and comorbidities. Wow..... I was mad for days until I sat and really thought about it, he has tried to help me loose weight and each time I have not been very successful. I think he thinks I won't be able to stay with it.... short we need to take charge of our own destiny.. Be honest with your psych appointment and hop on board with loosing those pounds so you can get that pass through for your WLS... Best of Luck

Bariatric Realities
Thank you for caring enough to write about the issues without the trademarked evidenced based studies which are as your said hard to conduct when it comes to emotionally based issues. Any of us who are obese have those issues just by the nature of being obese and how the world views us. Cant "weight" for the next article!

The journey begins
Most of the blogs I have read on Bariatric Pal start with a surgery date or actual surgery itself, I am starting now. My first appointment is April 14th to see the weight loss clinic and get my process started. For me it started the day I said to myself now it the time to do this and the day I had the courage to ask my family to support me in doing so. I still am in awe that my children all thought it was an amazing idea, I knew my husband would he has been through 35 years of my obesity, never complaining alway encouraging. We have had to all work and sacrifice to save as I am a private pay, they are an amazing group of young people. I should have enough money to schedule surgery in late May or early June. I will try to share as openly as I can with you all, in the hopes it will help my success and perhaps someone else who is looking for support and friendship.................. until tomorrow.... drink water and sleep well

First appointment April
Hi ladies, I thought I replied to this post but I think it went to cyber space. I am so excited for us. I spent the day looking at Protein options, preop diets, bought a scale, set up a journey book and checked out fitness centers. For the first time in my life 53 years of being overweight I am doing this for me. Having you as support is going to be wonderful. For dazimom my last name is Bourassa so I feel like we are meant to be friends. Let me know how you are doing!
