  1. I finished my 6 months supervised diet last week. Passed psych evaluation and PCP called to say letter with his concurrence was faxed to surgeon. PCP is NOT a fan of WLS so that was a nail bitter. I have Cigna and have no idea if they will approve. Fingers crossed. Cigna denied my band removal at first. It is inspiring to hear that others have jumped through the hoops and eventually been approved.
  2. Love hate relationship. Lost 100 pounds and kept it off but vomiting every day for 10 years was not fun. I had mine for 11 1/2 years before having it removed in Dec 15
  3. I wish that I were as smart and proactive as you. I had my band for 11 1/2 years and never k ew what I could eat day to day. I went to high calorie liquids for pleasure. I still managed to maintain. A 100 pound loss but need to lose 100 more. Sounds like we were banded around same time.
  4. I'm not looking forward to asking my PCP for a letter. He has already stated the band was a fad and now the sleeve. I had band removed in December and have maintained 100 pound weight loss. Need to lose another 100 so trying sleeve. This was when dr imparted his view. Hoping he approves me will know next week. If not I will seek another dr.
  5. Wow - theft? In my office and I'm sure a lot of others you can use internet, fax and copier for personal use as long as it is not excessive. Theft - that is harsh. I was trying to set up a surgical appointment and the coordinator sent me another persons presurgery instructions instead. I called the office immediately and spoke with the person that sent the instructions and let them know what happened. She was apologetic and told me that she took it seriously and would review procedures so this did not happen again. I was satisfied.
  6. I was 359 at my heaviest. Had band 12 years ago lost 126 pounds then gained and lost I had band removed in Dec 15 and had maintained 100 pound weight loss. I had problems with my band burin am still pleased that I am not 100 pounds heavier than I am now. Still have another 100+ to go (hope to get sleeve next month) but still no regrets with my surgery and I am going for another one. Like someone else said - pleased that my life is easier than when I mess 100 pounds heavier. I don't like to watch My 600 pound life as it is so depressing. The show does allow me to see where I do not want to be.
  7. Synthoid pill is very small and round pill. No problems taking them with the band. I do not have sleeve yet.
  8. I'm so sorry for the diagnosis. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 1997 and had my thyroid removed. I also did not need to have any further treatments except Synthroid. You have done very well with your WL so far. This may be a bump in the road. I hope you have a good support network or use this place as a support. Please keep us updated.
