  2. I had one or two bouts of nausea but I managed it ok. It DEFINATELY does get better. I'm two weeks post surgery tomorrow and feeling pretty good! Just make sure you keep taking painkillers on a regular basis, that was my downfall. I'd wait till I was sore then I'd take painkillers Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. The day after surgery Adam my surgeon had my canula with my pain meds removed so I could only have tablets Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I was taking panadol, and endone Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. Oh it hurt to cough or breath deeply for about a week for me. I'm waiting at dietician to hopefully progress to mushy food!! I went for a walk yesterday, did about 500metres and I was out of breath. Crazy! Saw my GP last night she said that's expected after surgery. So I'm going back to walk the same lake today and see how far I get this time. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I'm only taking 1 endone at night and that's to help me sleep on my side. But tonight I'm going to try no endone and see how I go Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. Well done! How you feeling today? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App What hospital did you get it done? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  7. I've lost 4.5kg in my first week, which is just under 10 pound? Is that similar to others weight loss? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. I'm not taking endone, haven't since I was discharged on sat. I'm surviving on neurofen and panadol. And I'm eating baby food for my meals, it's so easy, portion controlled. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I was having soup but I found I was eating too much and it was hurting. So got onto the baby food, nurse suggested it as another patient had done it and it's just so much easier! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Nurse thinks I might have developed a lactose intolerance since the surgery so I'm going to cut out the chobani drinking yoghurt and see if that helps Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Yeah pretty good Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I'm struggling with a lot of gas, like you can hear my stomach rumble under a blanket even Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I got sleeved 17th, and explosive diarrhea too until last night. I had a jar of baby custard - it stayed in! And this morning tried chobani drinking yoghurt as its higher in Protein then the rest. That stayed in too! Maybe try some different fluids to see what works for you? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. My notes from hosp say if I hadn't gone in 3 days to use a mild laxative. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Having said that, I'm stuggling with all my liquids now, since I've actually gone. Nothin is staying in. And woke up with bad bloating this morning Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. My stomach or intestines, not sure which, has been rumbling ever since. Not a hungry rumble. Maybe all the gas from the surgery? It's got to come out? I'm going for a walk this arvo, half a k or so, to see how I go. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App But I swear I've lost 2 kilos after that effort Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. Well sorry for the TMI in advance, but I have finally been able to do a number 2! Had surgery Thursday, today is Sunday and I've just been feeling bloated, gassy and blah. I didn't want to go down the laxative track but I was warned this could happen due to the meds they give you. Can I just say, best relief ever! I feel much more brighter! And too all you people who say www gross, well shit happens! But the reality is, this will happen to most of us. I thought I would be immune to it, but no such luck. So when it does happen, hip hip hooray! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. So it's now Sunday and I'm doing well IMO. I am on panadol but nothing stronger. Can't sleep on my side, I am too uncomfortable, but did get a solid night sleep. Had half an Optifast shake for Breakfast, I'll have the other half in an hour or so. I had 3/4 of a cup of tomato soup for lunch earlier and tolerated that ok. I got a half cup out to measure, and filled it 2/3 with the soup, poured into coffee cup, then 2/3 with Water and mixed together then heated up. Drank with a teaspoon and took my time. Was delicious. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I'm sipping water easily, I'm drinking over a litre a day, I'm so conscious of getting dehydrated and getting sick so trying really hard to make the effort to drink up Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I asked my dietician, if I could increase my vegetables intake because I was so hungry. She said yes as long as I stuck to the list of approved veggies. So I would have a cup and a half of vegies at lunch, then save my Soup or shake till arvo tea and that helped but it still is hard Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Also in case they forget to tell you, the blue dye they put down your throat to check for leaks, after your surgery, while your still under, comes out when you go to pee! Got the fright of my life this morning! Lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. Hey! Struggles with the pain when I first woke up in recovery but they got onto it straight away. My mouth was so incredibly dry by the time I was allowed to finally sip Water last night. I'm sore today, and got reflux but they have ordered stuff for that just waiting for it to arrive. I'm incredibly tired without a doubt. Part of that would be the pain relief and part of that would be the constant toilet trips every night for last 2 weeks due to drinking 3 liters a day lol. All worth it though, surgeon was really pleased with how I went. I've done a few laps today around the ward Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. My surgery is today! I go under at 1pm. I asked hospital how long surgery takes roughly, nurse said an hour and a half. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. Lack of fluids can affect blood pressure and cause dizziness so make sure you stay hydrated. Perhaps some electrolytes? I had to have an infusion last year that make my blood pressure drop and get dizzy and nurses kept barking at me to drink lol. It did help though Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. She's a big girl, maybe she's looking for inspiration I'm not sure. I found it very strange and off putting. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. I was going to join a sleeve Facebook group, till one of the only people I told I was having the op to, said she's in a secret sleeve group. She hasn't had the surgery, she's not going to have the surgery, so I'm like what the hell are you doing there then? That's why I like this group, we remain anonymous if we so wish. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. So today has been a DISASTER! I'm having my surgery next week, and for a multitude of reasons I fell off the bandwagon today. I had ham with my salad for lunch then I had a bread roll with vegemite earlier and some clix biscuits and then I was so hungry still and I opened fridge and grabbed about 20 Cadbury choc coated fruit & nut then realized if I was going to be naughty I was better off having an Optifast shake because I actually quite like them and it would have been more filling. So now I feel like complete shit and a failure and stressing that it's going to affect my surgery big time. Sigh. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. Hi guys! Having my surgery in just over a week, March 17th, with Dr Skidmore. Getting a bit nervous now, not of the surgery, more the learning of how much to eat, what to eat etc? I've lost 13kg since start of December but plenty more to go. I'm on 2 weeks Optifast diet. I really enjoy the shakes, not so much the Soup so I've canned that. I'm eating veggies at lunch then holding off for my shake for an hour or two, it's more of an arvo treat that way. Plus my stomach curdles at the thought of hot & cold food at same time. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. Good luck to all of us! Can I ask what meds you are on? I'm on Lemtrada and due to have my 2nd year dose 6 weeks after surgery. But nervous about it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
