I was banded in Mexico. I am seeing a fill Dr in Charlotte NC and I am happy with him but it is a 4 hour drive for me. I would like to know if anyone knows of any Dr in South Carolina that will take on patients banded in Mexico. Thanks

ok you all, i had my surgery feb 2008. i just found out today that my band has slipped. i was completely obstructed not even a drop was going down. i had my surgery in mexico and i live in sc. the local bariatric doctor here in sc did an emergency unfill on me but he will not do my surgery to fix the band because i had my surgery in mexico. does anyone know of any doctors here in the states that will touch a banded patient from mexico? if anyone can help please.

hello how are you? i live here in beautiful beaufort. i got banded in feb and loving it.

the pain is only there when i eat. should i get an unfill or will it go away? does the pain mean that my band might of slipped? i am just really concerned. thanks

I had my 2nd fill last week. i was overfilled and had to get an unfill 2 days after the fill. was feeling fine for a couple of days and now i am having pain in my right side. has anyone had this problem? also where i get my fills done is 4 hours away from my home. there is a dr here in my town that does the lapband and fills but will not see me because i went out of the country for my lapband. if i go to the emergency room does he have to see me? thanks

I went to the doctor today. I had x-rays done and everything was good. The Dr took .3cc out of my band today. What a relief I can actually swallow again. That was the most awful thing that I have ever been through an overfill.

I was banded Feb 29 2008. I have lost a total of 66 pounds including preop.

Should I have discomfort in my abdomen?

I just got a fill yesterday. This is my 2nd fill since surgery. The dr had a hard time finding my port. The 1st fill there was no problem 1.6cc. After alot of pain and 30 min, he finally got it. He put .6cc in my band. For dinner last night I had 1/2 cup of chicken broth and I was full. There was no problem with it going down. This morning I am so tight that I cannot even eat Jello but I can drink crystal light slowly. My concern is am I just swollen after the fill and it is going to go down in 48 hours or am I to full from my fill? Please give me some advice or same situations.:rolleyes2: Thanks

well i had surgery in mexico with no complications. i even drank the water and i am still alive.

i dont know about the insurance because i am self pay.

I use fill centers usa in South Carolina. The doctor that I see is awesome. I have no complaints.

I had my surgery in Mexico on Feb 29. I had no proplems and everyone was extremely nice. I just had my first fill done here in the states with no problem.

Hello to all the South Carolina bandsters. I live in Beaufort,SC. I was banded on Feb 29,2008. I have lost 30 pounds and cant wait until my 1st fill.

I had my lapband done feb 29. I have alot of restriction but I have not had my 1st fill. I have lost 29 pounds but I gained 3 pounds this week.

:thumbup: I just went from full liquids to soft food this week and I gained 3 pounds this week. What did I do wrong? Is this normal? Has it happened to anyone else? :confused2:

i was banded on feb 29 and i have lost 26 lbs (15 lbs preop) as of today. i am so excited to actually say that i have lost weight.

I was just banded by Dr. Lopez on Feb 29. I was so nervous about leaving the states to have surgery. I want to say that I would recommend Dr Lopez to anyone that wanted to have the lap band. It was an awesome experience. The hospital was so clean, the staff was so nice and spoke decent english, and the surgery went great. Dr Lopez came to my room 3 times after the surgery to check and see how I was doing. I got home yesterday on Sunday. I am a little sore but feel great. I am glad I can say that I am now a bandster. I lost 15 pounds on my preop diet and I have lost 2 pounds since surgery.:biggrin2:

i am on the liver shrinking diet now. my surgery date is feb 29. it is hard getting started but i am going to do it.

my surgery date is feb 29 with dr lopez. i have done alot of research and i have found good and bad on all the doctors. that is how things work.you have good with bad in everything.syylvia is my coordinator and she is awesome. so sorry about your complications.

i am in the process of getting all my paperwork and appt. to be banded by dr.lopez. how was your experience?
