  2. Yes they are, or at least my nutrionist says so
  3. Ahh so it is a common thing lol. Just thought maybe it was my surgeon. I'll check out that site cause I'm stumped as what to say other than I need it bad lol.
  4. Anyone else surgeon have them write a personal letter as to why you need the surgery ? It's to be submitted with my insurance packet as well.
  5. Thanks guys [emoji4] I think I'm going to go ahead and buy a sampler of all the flavors.
  6. Right now I'm drinking Atkins shakes, but my nutrionist thinks I should try another protein shake after my surgery. Has any tried the Syntrax Nectar before ? If so any flavor recommendations? Sorry in advance if this has been discussed before
  7. I have Carefirst BCBS Maryland as well, hoping I get an approval as fast as you did [emoji16], congrats!!!

  11. So yesterday I went to see my surgeon for one of my required visits and to my surprise the nurse mentioned that if I get my physch eval, 2 workout sessions done, they will be ready to submit my paperwork to ins for approval. She wants me to be scheduled for May !! I'm so excited as I wasn't expecting to have my 7 visits done until July,. The prospect of it being so close is making nervous but excited also [emoji4]
  12. Thanks ladies. When i initially decided to start this journey I told myself I would not let the scale dictate me , like it has done in the past. I will stick to weighing in only when meeting with my surgeon, and going even harder with the meal prepping and exercising.
  13. I went to my first consult last month, and Tuesday I have my second appointment. I have been sticking to the meal plan my surgeon office recommended. I weighed myself a few times and saw a loss, but Saturday I got on it showed a loss of 20 pounds ????. I knew this couldn't be right! Turns out I have a defective scale. I went to my follow up sleep study appointment and had the ma weigh me, I'm the same exact weight as I was a month ago. And yes I am tracking my food and doing light exercise. I just needed to vent, I'm feeling very discouraged right now and I'm only 1 month in ????. Anyone have any advice ?
  14. They did explain during my initial consult, but it was a bit overwhelming taking in all of that information. Thank you for your response. I will definitely follow up with my insurance
  15. I have a question for anyone that has had experience with Carefirst BCBS. I am currently enrolled in a PPO plan. The doctor that I am using is out of network. My in network and out of network deductibles ( oon deductible is $3200) will not be combined. If I don't meet my out of network by deductible by the time I am due to have surgery, will I be responsible for paying the surgeon the $3200 upfront? Or how exactly does it work? Any response is welcomed
