  2. My NUT documented what I told her I was doing but I also had to turn in proof that I was actually doing it. My surgeon's office sends everyone to the cardiac clinic but I felt out of place sp I did it through my gym (made it more fun). I got my Aetna approval on Friday and i am super excited. Try not to let it stress you....I HATE the scale!!! Sent from my SM-G530T using the BariatricPal App
  3. Your plan should mention something about weight gain. My plan required an exercise program with documentation. Sent from my SM-G530T using the BariatricPal App

  7. Hi 1excited,Where are you in the process? My paperwork was submitted on Feb. 11 so I should hear any day now. Wow, two little ones and your father, sounds like you are surrounded with blessings and responsibilities. I cared for my parents when my son was little, so I know. Good luck with everything, @@uberbuffaloegal as you know little ones plus caring for someone is a challenge but as you said it is both a blessing and responsibility. My paperwork was submitted February 19 BUT the insurance coordinator did not send in any of my clinical notes. The insurance company contacted her and she still did not send it in. I called my insurance company a week later and they explained what was going on. I called her and she lied and said they refused to give her the fax number. I called and they were like that is not true and here is the fax number. She also said she called them twuce , which also was not true. So my paperwork just sat for a week because she sucks. I called today and it is being reviewed. I have aetna. Who is your provider?Hi 1excited,I have BCBSTX, I was denied by Aetna in 2013, my gp had my height wrong by 4 inches, so it showed that my bmi was under 40 in the last 2 years. The lady that handled the appeals at my dr. Office was in a terrible car accident and my appeal was not timely or correct. I can't be mad, poor dear, and the lady trying to do it had no clue. I have severe sleep apnea. But don't worry I know lots who had no Trouble with Aetna. So now 2 years on I have BCBSTX and I am trying again, still no word as of today. Any word on ur end? Did they send the notes? I am in Socal, OC, where r u? Goodluck Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App @@uberbuffaloegal you will not believe this BUT they did it AGAIN. This time they only sent in 60 days instead of 90 days and once again totally blew it off when the insurance called!! The surgeon got them to send it in so I am still waiting Have you heard anything back yet? Sent from my SM-G530T using the BariatricPal App

  10. I am also a stay at home mom with two kids (1 and 2) I also care for my father who lives with us. My husband plans on taking a week off.
  11. I considered changing 2 months in. I called the new surgeon's office and they told me all they would need is all the notes from the current doctor I am seeing. It would have been fairly easy. I think the only thing Aetna looks for is 3 consecutive months.
  12. @@tbella67 can you find another surgeon?
  13. did you Aetna overturn your denial?
  14. My doctor said no because it is about accountability. My gym had to give me logs that prove I was there and I did the free training sessions. I could have used the program that works with the hospital, but their hours of operation really did not work with my schedule. Talk to your surgeon and insurance company. Good luck.
  15. How long did you end up waiting
  16. I have aetna and I was required to participate in an exercise program. They submitted the exercise records with my packet. In fact my doctor's refused to submit without it because they said it explicitly says exercise program
  17. found out the insurance coordinator in the office did not send in the clinic notes and when the insurance company reached out she STILL did not send it. So my paperwork just sat there for a week!!! I possibly could have had an answer by now.
  18. @@gettinmylifeback I was super suprised to see Moncks Corner....that is my hometown!!! HHHHEEEYYY!!
  19. @@Dara0420 I am in Frederick. I actually left Gaithersburg about 2 years ago.
  20. hey!! My paperwork was just submitted; however, the insurance coordinator is a total slacker and it did not actually get into the nurse's hands for actual review until I got involved yesterday. I was supposed to get sleeved in September 2014 however prior to submittal I found out I was pregnant. How Las things been post-op?
  21. if we did not move to Frederick I would have definitely went back to that office
  22. @@2bsleeved26 my paperwork has been submitted and I am awaiting approval. My surgeon is Dr. Osbourne, but I started the process in 2014 with Dr. Cooke (her office is next to Shady Grove Hospital) but 3 months in I found out I was pregnant. Who did you go with?
  23. I checked in early morning, had the sleeve around l0 a.m., slept, walked, had a leak test and was home by 4 p.m. No problems, no pain, just thankful not to be in the hospital catching staphylococcus or MRSA. WOW that was fast. I was told no way will I be coming home same day. What hospital did you have your surgery?A big hospital in Jacksonville, FL. If there are complications of course you have to stay. We were told ahead of time, in the hospital and out the same day. I was in the grocery store two days later, reading labels on food.WOW!!! You are a trooper!!!! That is the type of recovery I want!!!!!! I am at the wrong hospital..lol. We're you able to eat actual food two days later?
  24. $)@@ychani I have aetna as well (I am waiting to hear back). Did you hear back yet, how long did it finally take?Yep I did hear from them (on Feb 9th), on the 13 out of 14 they were to respond back. And I was schedule for the 18th of feb for surg. I was hoping it would be sooner. Tuesday would be day 7. I am going to call on Tuesday with my fingers and toes crossed
