  1. yawning...............yes!! starts about mid afternoon and is almost non stop for awhile -- altho I sleep well at nite. Yawning is not painful for me.........just seems awfully rude when I cannot control it. And...............flatulence. Also starts mid aft. Can be pretty bad and cannot imagine how I am going to control that either. Had lap band 4/23/08. would appreciate any great ideas!!
  2. regular jello........or sugar free?
  3. I do water aerobics in the winter........and you would be surprised that you will probably not be that bothered by the cold. The exercises warm u up............and if you will take a warm shower and blow dry your hair...........will make u comfortable.
  4. where do u buy your papaya tablets?.....................thanx.
  5. I am wondering about a daily vitamin - right now taking Realfood organics by Country Life.......probably a good vitamin, but they are expensive and I am sure there is a Costco, Walmart, Target, etc brand that is just as good -- so any suggestions?
  6. I plan to join you 'younguns"..........(I am 69) - but there seems to be more activity here......... love the suggestion about pineapple juice - will certainly try it. please..........will someone tell me: exactly how does a "sweet spot" feel? I know (after 3 fills and a 4th coming up in a wk)...I eat too much and can eat most anything (most days). But on other days (a very few) -- I choke up after a couple of bites. Why so erratic? I have a lap band friend who can eat very little (she eats a lot of soups and always has). I don't want that much restriction -- but need my appetite curbed more than it is...... so again: what does a sweet spot feel like....act like..."look like".........
  7. HI Jessica...............I, too am from Lenexa and was banded on 4/23/08. I am a LOT older than you are (69)..........but I have done well -- and lost about 1/3 of my projected wt loss so far -- but seem to be plateauing right now........ keep me up to date on your progress -- and good luck!!
  8. thanks for the great reply...............but my biggest problem is being hungry at nite............
  9. ...have had three fills -- but my eating and hunger patterns are pretty erratic. Lost about 1/3 of my needed pounds since 4/23 (28 lbs). am 69 yrs old. Felt like it took me several wks to feel "back to normal" -- but sure notice an uptick in my energy level -- which I really enjoy. Heartburn is history.........blood pressure down........problems w/diarrhea also pretty much gone (unless I indulge in sweets)......... everybody talks about reaching the "sweet spot" for controlled eating -- but have no idea what that is supposed to feel like?????:wink2:
  10. I was banded by Dr Hoehn on 4/23/08. I have had three fills -- but am not sure I understand what the "sweet spot" is supposed to feel like. Somedays I almost feel bulemic (sliming and vomiting).......the next day I can eat almost anything and lots of it!! I have lost 28 lbs -- which is about 1/3 of my needed total wt loss. I have a terrible time trying to control my fast eating and not enuff chewing -- plus I am a non stop drinker of Water and tea -- so never remember to stop drinking prior to, during and after the meal. I constantly worry about my band slipping -- or stretching my pouch. I get a little paranoid about any slight pains..... I am due for another fill in about 2 wks. I see by your surgery date that your are an "ole pro" -- so would appreciate your input..........
  11. ======================================================== I CANNOT figure out how to post a new question - have asked and looked. Surely cannot be as hard as I am making it! I love the salty too.............and can handle about anything. I had surgery 4/23 and lost almost 25 lbs before fill. Fill occurred about 8 days ago -- and I swear I can eat anything that does not run away from me. Do they take pictures of your innards to see if you have stretched or what. Also -- is anyone else very aware of the hardware installed in you. When I bend over or lay on my rt side, I think I can feel it -- but probably just being paranoid. I see I have asked several questions..........so somebody please steer me in the right direction!!
  12. I am puzzled............how do u eat 1,000 calories (day's total) w/ 1/2 cup meals?
  13. I saw (albeit in a nectar ad...) the suggestion to mix: Nectar Lemon Tea w/Crystal Light Peach Tea. Supposedly is delish..........but I haven't tried it. Is there some reason no-one is suggesting smoothies: frozen fruits, plain lo cal yogurt, unsweetened apple juice, whey powder -- run thru the blender for an icy drink. My big problem: makes too much.

  15. I have not heard about it..............but am wondering about nectar Protein powder...... who has tried it and did you like (or not like) it................and why? I was thinking about ordering some online -- but would like some input..............
  16. I think this is going to be a problem for me, too -- especially since I am 69 and skin elasticity would be an issue. Tell me what your research turns up..........................thanks.
  17. migosh............what happens when your body starts screaming for nutrients!!
  18. I love the Vicativ "candy" calcium..........but the guy running the health food store said carbonates can cause kidney stones. Anybody else have an opinion on that?
  19. I am 69....and had my surgery 4/23. Still very very sore - and not that much energy. Struggling to get down enuff proteins. Cannot stand the special drinks..........or the chewable and liquid supplements. Any suggestions? I have lost about 17 lbs -- but right now I am more concerned about getting "back to normal" -- and getting enuff proteins and supplements.
