  1. L2L: Oh No!!! I don't wish it on anyone! Too tight does not mean more weight loss! I've learned that for sure. You will find you'll just eat around it...shakes, mushies, etc. I did lose 2 pounds while on vacation, but trust me...it wasn't because I tried! I had at least 2 Starbucks Fraps a day, plenty of alcohol and lots of yummy food!! The only thing I can say for myself is that we walked and hiked everyday!!!! My clothes are looser despite my attempt to sabotage my weight loss! It's okay though...I went into it with no plans of losing ANY weight so the way I see it, I WON!! LOL Okay, sorry...back to you. I hope you can get in today. I think just the slightest unfill would do wonders for me, so I'm sure you'd feel the same too. It's been a while since your fill, so I'd venture to say that any swelling should be gone by now. How much do you have in your band? ~Carol
  2. Yeah, no kidding!!! Lizalee you are doing wonderful!
  3. Hi Karly! Yeah, I know...it did seem as though everything stopped. I think L2L was on vacation too last month. I only have one week left and then it's back to reality. I'm thoroughly enjoying myself though. The days are going way too fast (as does any vacation). I don't want to go home, but I know it will end soon enough. **sigh** Talk to ya soon! Great job on the 41 lb loss! WOW! ~C
  4. Okay I have to jump in on this one! I hate bugs too! We lived in Florida for a short time and the flying palmetto bugs really do 'chase' you. That freaked me out! Now I live in Ohio and we have locusts. EWWWWW! That is the creepiest thing when they leave their crunchy shell attached to the trees! ~C
  5. Hi everybody! Just checking in...how is everyone doing? How was your holiday??? I'm doing fine...on vacation so I am actually GREAT! I'm doing a ton of walking/hiking and thoroughly enjoying myself! I am noticing that my NEW clothes are getting baggy...that is so exciting. I used to love clothes and shopping until I got fat. I'm having a good time getting smaller sizes, but I know I won't let loose until I can shop anywhere again! LOL Look out!! ~Carol
  6. Well it's been a few weeks everyone...how was your July 4th? Anyone losing now that we've had fills? How is everyone feeling? I am feeling a little better. I am learning to live with this restriction. It's weird, but I'm making the best of it. I am currently on vacation in Colorado, so we've done a ton of hiking, but also a ton of eating bad stuff! Lots of Starbucks...we don't have one where we live in Ohio (can ya believe that?????). So if I don't lose any over the next few weeks, I won't be too surprised. Shame on me. Hopefully I'm just cancelling each one out! My DH and DD are saying that they are beginning to notice a difference. They say my face is thinning, and my DD says I don't have a double chin now! LOL I still feel like I'm not getting anywhere, but I will admit that my NEW jeans are feeling big. Haven't weighed since I got here a week ago, so I'll be very curious to find out if I've made any progress when I get back! Talk to me!!!! ~Carol
  7. Hi Heather, I can't make it this time...I'll be on vacation!!! WOO HOO! I will miss you all and be thinking of you! ~Carol
  8. Hi all! I'm here. Just reading and checking out the conversations on here everyday. I'm doing fine. Not much has happened or changed so I'm just kinda hanging out. My band is really tight and I'm still not losing and I'm frustrated so I don't know what else to say. *cry* I'm leaving for vacation in a few days and I'm totally excited to get away! I'm sure I'll be checking in while away too though. Can't imagine not taking the laptop! LOL ~C
  9. Good morning girls! Karly- Thanks so much for your reply! You are too cute! I know that at some point things will start moving again, but it really is odd that the weight doesn't just fall off. I mean, we are eating a fraction of the food we used to! Weird. L2L- Oh honey! I feel for you. My scar from my port (for chemo) is on my chest just above my right breast. It was really raised and puckered like you are describing. After I finished chemo last year I begged for the port to be removed (it really bugged me) and when they took it out they did a scar revision. It will always be a large scar and the weight of a breast will naturally 'pull' on it, but it looks so much better now. The scar revision was great...it looked like a fat earthworm (the old scar)!! He did it in the office too! Girl I feel for ya...you've had amazing weight loss, but some roadblocks along the way. Gwenn- I too have heard that many are tight in the morning. I think it must have something to do with lying down all night and the stomach being pushed up or something. What do I know??? LOL L2L I am having ticker troubles. I tried to make a new one like yours and the darn thing won't reflect my weight loss. I just can't seem to figure it out! ~C
  10. LJM, I gotta hand it to ya...I don't know if I could've demonstrated that strength! LOL I love cheesecake. Kudos to you! ~Carol
  11. Wow Karly! 41 lbs is amazing!! Good for you! oh...and I know it was YUK! Sorry for all the details! ~C
  12. That is strange. I am starting to be able to eat lunch now. Breakfast is still liquids only and still uncomfortable. Must go really slow! I am learning to deal with this though. Guess the "behavior modification" is working! LOL ~Carol
  13. I just got my wii fit and I love it so far! What a fun way to exercise! I know some people are skeptical, but the way I see it is this: ANYTHING that gets you up and off the couch is worth it! I really like the hula hooping and the ski slalom! So far, anyway! ~Carol
  14. Hey! Okay, today I got the strangest feeling in my chest and throat. I finished eating lunch and I felt like I had a big burp in there. Everytime I 'burped' these little baby burps would come out and they came with fluid. I just couldn't get a good burp to move the air/food. It started to feel like I would vomit, so I made a bee line to the bathroom for a just in case. I decided I needed to get back to work and I just couldn't get any change to happen. I leaned over the toilet and out came this big ball of slime!!!!! EEWWWWW! It was so weird. I felt better in my throat and chest, but now my throat is sore. Has been ever since. I hope to God I didn't hurt anything by doing that. Sorry for the details! BTW: Too tight sucks as bad as no fill. Just sayin'. ~Carol
  15. Howdy y'all! Just checkin' in... how is everyone? I'm doing better. My fill is still pretty tight, but I am getting used to it. I'm not losing any more though this way. Funny, you'd think I would. Hope everyone is doing well! ~carol
  16. Loreal makes a great eye make-up remover. They are owned by Lancome (I've heard anyway) and it's the same stuff just way cheaper! It lasts forever and conditions and all that too! ~C
  17. Haven't posted in a long time...Hi everybody!
  18. Thanks you guys! I was pretty upset when he said that to me. I think if he had said it nicely and maybe explained it or something it wouldn't have stung so much, but I felt like it was a slam. You know, rude. I think he was impatient about the fills rather than it being me. I think he is eager to get his patients to restriction so he won't have to be bothered. He is not getting any extra from me at this time because I'm under the 90 day "umbrella" from surgery. Hmmmm. Today I was able to eat food for lunch, so maybe things are loosening up. I don't know. I will keep trying. How are you guys doing? I feel like it's been all about me!! ~Carol
  19. Hey girls! I'm here! Sorry...I've been really busy at work. My fill is still too tight! I talked to the doctor yesterday and he told me this is "BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION"!!!! He said "this will teach you to chew well". Okay, I get that, but come on! So he will not unfill me. I am to learn to live with this. I don't like being this tight. I really had hoped that the band would loosen a little by now, but it hasn't. I guess we'll have to see how things go. Haven't lost any weight though being this tight. ~C
  20. Welcome! I am in Findlay! I did not get banded by Dr Curry, but hear great things about him! Would love to chat sometime. Hard to meet others nearby! ~Carol
  21. Hi everyone! I got word from the doctor today. Guess what??? His nurse tells me that he is not concerned and that I should eat soft food and call if I get hungry. Hmph. I am disappointed with this response, but there is nothing I can do. I will keep drinking breakfast and stick to soft stuff for now. Others are telling me that it may loosen after a few weeks. I hope I do...just a little though. I am enjoying having some restriction, but this is weird and a little uncomfortable. So no unfill for me. L2L: Good luck tomorrow. I know everything will be fine. Sorry you have to have incisional pain again, darnit! ~C
  22. No, not at the school. He would stay at the Academy. That is right by you, right? Btw: He'd most definitely bike with you! ~C
  23. Hey Peeps! I got word from the doctor's office today that "He is not concerned. Just eat soft food and call if you get hungry". Serious? So I guess I'll wait it out and see if things loosen up a bit over the following week. I am drinking protein smoothies for breakfast, but I am gonna have to really watch my calories since I'm drinking them more often than eating them this week. It's good to be tight, but this is weird. Feels funny, and makes me nervous. I don't want to hurt anything. J: I don't know for sure about the C-bus thing. And yes, my DD would be a consideration. One minute she's all about being a gypsy, and the next she is all about her friends. We'll see. DH may be hanging out by your place of employment until we decide what to do. He can stay there for free. ~C
  24. I have a 4 cc band and have 2 cc in it so far now. I actually would like a little taken out. Maybe just like .25 cc. I just want to eat an egg for breakfast! LOL I really think this is too tight. It's uncomfortable enough for me to worry at every meal. I am so scared to stretch the pouch above the band, ya know? Leslie...if I'm not on tomorrow, I want you to know I'm thinking of you for Friday! I'm glad you are finally getting this taken care of. You are doing so good and this is just gonna make all the difference! ~Carol
  25. Hi Everyone! J: Yes, there is the HHH (Hancock Horizontal Hundred) coming in September. It's a fun ride...no hills! (sorry J). You can do 32, 64 or 100 miles. Other than that I'm not sure. We have Bike to the Bay in a few weeks (for MS) but that starts in Maumee, Ohio. I can check to see if there are any others coming up that I haven't mentioned. Guess what?....possibility of moving to C-bus! Lots of details to work out, but it may happen. DH may transfer there. On a completely different note than bycyling... I got another fill on Friday. I am so tight in the mornings that I can't eat breakfast. Even drinking is uncomfortable. It stays like this until well into the afternoon. By evening I can eat 1/2 cup, but am pretty hungry by then and find myself eating more often and it must be soft foods (ie, sliders). I called the doctor's office yesterday and the nurse did not seem surprised nor concerned. Is this how most of you are? I have read that many are tighter in the am vs. pm, but shouldn't I be able to eat something? I am drinking a lot of protein shakes to get by. Thanks for your input...anyone! ~Carol
