    3 Month update and Goal

Does anyone know how to add a ticker to your signature? I went to edit profile, edit signature, added the URL and I get "invalid file" Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong. For now I just copied and pasted the image but I'd like to be able to go back and change my progress.

    Share your NSV's!!!!!!!!!!

I am having a difficult time putting up one of those progress scales you all have, can someone walk me through the process, guess I'm computer illiterate.
  3. That is a very good point SydneyLouWho. I had to pay for my lapband myself and you are right, when thinking in terms of a car 15k is no big deal. I was fortunate enough to be able to pay up front even if I hadn't I would have taken a loan out for this procedure, my health is far more important than a new car.
  4. This website is a godsend! For months I've felt like I was all alone, most people opt for the gastric bypass and didn't think many people considered the banding procedure. My name is Cindy and my surgery date is Feb. 28th. We should all keep this going as long as possible so that we all feel like we're in this together. Thank you everyone that's posted a comment, the more comments I read the better I feel about my decision.

    Mushy Stage Recipies

Thanks for the encouragement kjeter, my first fill is 4/18/08 and am optomistic that when I start the fills my hunger will go away. I will let my doctor know exactly what I've been feeling, hopefully he takes pity and gives me a larger fill.

    Mushy Stage Recipies

I was given the OK to start having chicken and fish Wednesday and although I LOVE being able to eat more than just refried beans and cottage cheese I have to say I wake up hungry. Does anyone have this problem after being allowed to eat solids? Also, I've lost a total of 15 pounds (1st week after surgery) and have not lost anything in 2 weeks. Has anyone experienced this as well?

    First Fill...Soooo Confused...Help.

Can someone that has gotten "fills" explain what the process feels like? How long was the injection, did it hurt much? Can you feel the band being tightened? Any side effects?
  9. Wow 400 Cal how do you do it?

Are you glad you did it?

I'm wondering if those 3+ years after post-banding if you feel this was a good decision? Since banding was approved just 7 years ago in the US I feel those of you that did it years ago are sort of pioneers to those of us that are considering this procedure. My surgery date is Feb. 28th...anyone have any advise????
  11. I'm going in for the surgery in 3 weeks, my doctor has not advised me about a special diet. So I'm wondering, do you start the diet before surgery? Also, how difficult is it to go through the liquid and mushy stage without the help of being banded? I only ask because I haven't been very successful in the past at diets and the thought of going weeks without solids and not having any help (band) is a bit freightning. Can someone that is going through this right now explain how you stick to the liquids?

    For those with BMI 35-40?

I know what you mean, I don't feel like I'm getting support from friends and familiy either. My husband doesn't want me to get the surgery but when we met I weighed 123 pounds and you'd think he'd want to see me the way I was but not so much I guess. So you are not alone RONWIFEY but you have to think this is what is right for you.
  13. My surgery is scheduled 2/28/08 and I'm afraid or not waking up. Did you have these fears? How long were you under? From my understanding they don't start the adjustment until 6 weeks after your surgery yet you have already lost 19 pounds after 4 weeks. Am I missing something here? How have you been able to start losing weight so fast?
