  1. At my last fill, the nurse said i must have pulled all the stiches b/c my port was just "floating"... called the Dr's office and the nurse said it wasn't a big deal and wouldn't cause any damage. But i agree, it is a bit painful at inopportune times! I have a drs. appointment in a few weeks to figure out what to do. My last fill when they noticed it wasn't pleasant at all!
  2. Hey Jeni! You can do it! i found a non-fat greek yogurt at Central Market (i live in texas, but i know whole foods or other specialty stores carry it... you can probably google too) called Fage. I mix a tiny bit of honey or even sugar free jelly in it. It has 20 grams of protein per 1 cup serving... so 10 if you only eat 1/2 cup. I have found that it helps me make it to lunch. also, from my adkins days, i have returned to the fat free ricotta for a bit of sweet, and good source of calcium and protein. Just some ideas. i ate 4 hersey's kisses today, so i too am feeling guilty. it's amazing, i know better, i just couldn't say no. tomorrow will be a better day!
  3. my steri-strips caused a horrible rash... had to get a steriod shot today and start a round of steriod pills.... side effect is weight gain - oh no! but i'll do anything to stop the itching! i thought about posting pics, but it was so disgusting. After reading all the posts, it sounds like a reaction is not that abnormal. Keep up the good work... i keep thinking what fun this fall will be!
  4. I was banded on 1/24, and the first few days, my stomach growled and i felt hungry. I think my stomach shrunk, because after the first few days, this stopped... that or my shoulder hurt so bad, that was all i could focus on. Now my steri-strips itch so bad, that's all i can focus on! But enough about me! I did find that eating creamy liquid soups helped. Central Market has some great, premade options like black bean (if the refrig section) or carrot ginger and butternut squash on the shelf. I am sure the extra protein in these is what helps. Good luck!!
  5. JLM - i had my surgery on Thursday, 1/24 and went back to work the following wednesday. Good luck!
  6. Rakes4321 - i was banded on 1-24 and feel the same way! how can 1/2 cup of pureed sweet potato w/ milk to make it soupy make me feel so crummy? Are we eating too fast? argh!
  7. drank coffee on day four... no issues! yeah!
  8. Hey all - i was banded on Jan 24th... day four was much better, but i'm already looking forward to day 5!
