  1. I only told my husband. the first 8 weeks were hard, I was so tired and could barely eat anything! But I made it and 14 weeks out I am down 40lbs and super happy
  2. Find your heating pad stat or buy another one. I had that random pain for over a week and remember how painful it was. I also used the pain meds my dr sent me home with.
  3. i feel for you, I went through that and i had a rough 6 weeks,it was very very painful. I had to resort to the Glycerin suppositories!
  4. Congrats!! What a huge achievement !
  5. I had a BMI of 31 when I had mine done. I don't regret it. I have dieted all my life and it is a struggle, every year I have watched more weight stay then what I set out to lose. I am only 2.5 months in, I have lost 33lbs. My sleep apnea is gone and I am hopefully going off my high blood pressure meds! I feel so much better. There is a Facebook group for low Bmi!
  6. The squatty potty has been a lifesaver ...
  7. I weigh in every am!! Keeps me motivated.
  8. No I do the low calorie ones. I buy the small bottles.
  9. No! I take vitamin b-12 every day and the first 2 weeks I was super exhausted! Heating pad and my couch were my best friend ( i went back to work 5 days after surgery) drinking the gatoraids helps with my electrolytes and ensuring I don't get dehydrated. I read about that on this site from many people. I do it everyday and so far so good. I felt like crap when I didn't take enough protien or tried to eat something way too soon! Don't be in a hurry!
  10. You can do this! And your relationship with food doesnt end it just changes. I am literally obsessed with Pinterest and finding something new to make. i am 6 weeks out so relatively new and I was so worried about how i was going to survive without what I used to eat. It literally has been a piece of cake !! I can not stress enough to drink all of your Water and get your protien in. I also make sure i drink 10oz of gatoraid a day. there were a few days i didnt do this and i paid for it the next day. Best of luck on your journey!
  11. i was afraid to try cottage cheese and now i love love it! I like it with some fruit or some tomatoes or just plain !
  12. I started cleaning out our food pantry and figuring out what I wasn't going to be eating... I also organized my closet by size
  13. Hang in there ! I remember feeling exhausted. Take it day by day get your water and protien in!! Are you taking b12?
  14. I got mine done and the only person that knows is my husband, makes it a little hard when I need advice but I have used this site a ton! People have tons of opinions... I just chose to not listen to any of them!
  15. I use pinterest, they have tons of great ideas!! my favorite is the crab crake!
  16. Goodluck! I remember having it all become overwhelming at the last minute like holy heck im really doing this! No amount of reading or research cant tell you how to deal with that! fingers crossed it all goes smoothly.
  17. How i got obese.. I was normal size growing up, 3 kids later, fulltime job, stress, kid's activities, my love of snacks I just ended up where i am.. every year the scale would go higher and every year i said i would do something..now i finally have!
  18. I am at 3 weeks today. I have had a moment where i smelled what my family was having for dinner and i felt a little hungry but I just drink water and i am all good. Drinking water takes away any hunger pains.
  19. 1. Complications - I experienced none. I have had some pain on and off on my left side but that normally has happened after I have overdone it. I had surgery on the 7th and was back to work on the 12th... i have been really tired but have taken it easy and spent weekends on the couch. 2. Clean and Safe? - Yes. Hospitals and clinics in Mexico are clean and safe. I had no complaints, there was always a nurse with me or a dr, they were constantly cleaning the clinic. I had a nurse assigned just to me and great care. i was move to their recovery house. There i also had amazing care. The dr came and checked me out and there was a dr that spent the night in the recovery house if i needed anything. 3. How did you convince your family? - I didn't. The only person that knows i did this was my husband. He wasnt thrilled but i just did it. I needed to make a change and this is for myself. 4. General Experience - i would recommend Long Term VSG to any of my friends and i have no regrets. Painful um YES! my stomach was killing me when i woke up.. but they give you painkillers. Having the drain pulled out is a blessing and a curse, super painful when pulled out but it stopped a lot of the pain i was feeling from having it in, once it was out. I am exhausted easy but i am also barely eating. I do get all my Protein and Water in and that is key if you dont you will be hurting. I also am not rushing foods.. i ate plenty to get me here.. I am on day 21 and counting!! Goodluck
  20. I'm on day 16, water and protein are my best friend, but I am exhausted and need to make sure I take it easy. I still have some shoulder pain in my left arm and feel pains in my abdomen but not to a point I need more than a Tylenol. I hope you call you dr
  21. I was there earlier this week, I have now done things I never thought I would...... I am also now taking a fiber tablet everyday. goodluck I'm rooting for ya!!!
  22. I'm totally going to 2nd this! This is my current situation and worst nightmare! My body is on strike !
  23. I was sleeved on 1/7 so far so good. I literally never feel hungry. I walk around with my water bottle to make sure I'm getting my liquids in! I'm excited to be taking this journey.
