Hello! I'm almost 2 months post op, had the sleeve surgery on November 20, 2015. I'm 56 years old and had been yo yo dieting since I was 10 years old. My highest weight was 570 pounds! a few years ago I managed to lose 200 pounds but then, as usual, I spent the next 2 years putting it back on again. I finally decided that weight loss surgery was my last hope. I had considered it through the years but neither my husband nor my daughter were supportive. They were afraid for me to have surgery. This time I "put my foot down" and told them this was what I wanted/needed to do and they were going to have to get behind me on this. They did. During the pre op process I lost 95 pounds and the day of surgery I weighed 475. Nearly two months now and I weigh 440. So 35 pounds down..I expected I would lose much more than that but I'm doing my best, following all the advice of my nutritionist and so I will take the loss as it comes. I'm on here just looking for support from others that are experiencing the same things as I am. Mostly its been pretty easy but there are times when I just want to eat and I have to do all sorts of things to distract me from the cravings. My stomach may have changed but I expect I'll have to fight the emotional cravings to over eat for the rest of my life.
