  1. I found my therapist through my insurance company's network. They list specialties for the therapists in the network. I am blessed to find someone that is female and deals with both PTSD and Compulsive Easting disorders. I am pre- surgery ( still waiting) but this work has been extremely beneficial. I hope you are able to find what you need. The Head stuff- definately goes with the body stuff in my case.
  2. During my pre-op journey, I started going to a therapist to figure out why I have allowed myself to get into this situation. ( over 100 lbs over weight with many medical conditions) I have been diagnosed with both PTSD and Compulsive eating disorder. Wondering if there are many peeps out there like me? I believe the surgery will not work for me without therapy. I have been going weekly for 5 months. The connection between the " why" is important to me. Anyone in the same boat? I would love to hear from you.
  3. I hope to be a March sleever. Waiting on insurance approval. I can hardly wait. I realize I have no control over the date, so trying to enjoy the journey. This process is teaching me patience...

  6. Hi, I hope to find out my date soon. I have a tentative date of March 16. for the sleeve. I live in Pinellas County- Tarpon Springs Area. I can't wait... Having surgery at Mease Dunedin
  7. Hi Shelly7, Just saw your post and thought- I am Impatient. Everything has been done. I thought my dr had submitted my file to insurance for pre-authorization. I found out today that the dr office does not submit to insurance for approval until the end of the month prior to the tentative surgery date. I am in a holding pattern. Started this whole process in Sept... I am so ready... Plus I am on the pre-surgery diet.. I am on the pre- surgery diet.. Feeling hungry all the time.. I want to get on with my new life style- this limbo is hard...
  8. I have a tentative date of Feb 17. Waiting on insurance pre-auth. Looking for a buddy as well... It would be good to compare notes on our journey.
  9. Thanks to all that replied. I appreciate your insight. I started watching some of the u-tube video's and they have helped me. I know everyone will have a different experience. On 1/5 I have my final required appointments before the doctor submits for pre-authorization. I expect to have a surgery date late January or Feburary. I am so ready.
  10. Hi, I am new to the site. I have gone through most of the pre-surgery requirements. Last pre op appt is 1/5. After that Dr will submit to insurance for approval. I am excited and scared. I know I want to do this, but scared for the unknown and afraid I may fail once again. Any advice> Your insight is greatly appreciated Marie
