Breakfast ideas.
It depends on what stage you are in. I am in the "normal" food stage and I drink protein shakes or have yogurt or have a crust less breakfast quiche.

Probably normal pain but need reinforcement
I would definitely call your doctor especially because it was getting better and now it is getting worse. It could be nothing but if it is something the longer you wait the worse it could get.

Eating out
When in doubt I choose Mexican and get fajitas then I can pick out the meat and eat some of the veggies and bypass the rest.

Amount of food.
Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Measure & weigh your food and stick to the portion your doctor prescribed.

Newbie
You will read this a lot but your tastes are going to change, foods that you used to love (greasy burgers, take out, even some "healthy" foods) may taste weird or off to you. I LOVED sweets pre-surgery and now I can take or leave them. Things with lots of carbs or sugar actually make me sick to my stomach. Due to Ketosis Water tasted sweet after surgery and I had a lot of trouble getting my fluids in luckily this changed and I can now drink water which I loved before surgery.

Alcohol
I am almost three months out and I "had" an amaretto sour before brunch the other day. I only drank 1/4 of an inch of the drink and I was snockered and couldn't finish it. For me right now the occasional indulgence is fine, "one" drink is not going to make a huge difference in my weight loss. I also plan and/or make sure I have the calories available for the day if I am going to drink.

How long was your hospital stay?
My hospital stay was 3 days, 1 day for surgery, 2 recuperating. I took 2 weeks off (1 week for surgery and then 1 week recuperating.) How much time you take off really depends on your job. I have a desk job in a small office where I don't have to lift or walk very far to get what I need.

What OTC products do I need to bring with me to Tijuana?
For me Gas-X strips, chapstick and extra bandages. When they discharge you, they don't send you home with extra. After your first discharge shower, there is no one but you to replace a bandage if needed.

So confused! Newbie here..help :/
There are affordable self pay Dr.'s in Texas, Mexico and Las Vegas, My recommendation is do your research. For me I knew that I wanted my after surgery are to be hospital based vs a hotel or a recovery center. Do you want post nutrition care through the surgeon/booker or do you want to find your own dietician or nutritionist? Do you need it financed or can you pay all up front? I wanted hospital after care and I can call or email the nutritionist if I need to. I also had to pay up front CC or Cashier's check. I knew all this up front and this is o.k. with me. Like I said you need to know what you want from your experience and then find a surgeon that can meet those expectations otherwise you will not feel good about surgery in another country. My surgery went great and the surgeon, hospital staff and stay was amazing, it was the best decision I've ever made.

Why didn't I know how bad it's gotten?
Instead of "borrowing" a seat belt extender if your surgery is far away and you travel a lot you can always buy one. http://www.amazon.co...r/dp/B001KVW6EQ They are around $20 or so, depends on what type you buy. I purchased one 2 years ago so i wouldn't have to ask for one anymore. Luckily I don't need it anymore and I will hand it down to my sister.

Belly Button Lump by incision
The lumps in my incisions are the disposable stitches. Almost 2 months out and I still have lumps they can last up to 6 months or more depending on the person. I also read, do not rub them if they hurt it can delay your healing process. You should be concerned if the incision has: swelling. increased redness around the wound. pus or bleeding from the wound. the wound feeling warm. an unpleasant smell from the wound. increasing pain. a high temperature (fever) of 38°C (100.4°F) or above. swollen glands.

Anyone ever thought:"I can do this on my own, I don't need the sugery"
I am only two months post-op but I definitely had this feeling when I lost 24lbs during the pre-op diet. What made me go through it is the many times I lost 20-30lbs and then put it right back on when I quit the diet. My surgery was the way to stop the yo-yo diet cycle, I am now down 56lbs, have a lot more energy and feel great. Not one regret for me.

Is anyone's goal weight higher than the BMI chart weight?
My goal weight is 180 and I am 5'9". When I was 150 a LONG time ago I looked good but my Dr. was very concerned that I was too thin. My body shape has lots of muscle so the180 weight will allow me to keep my muscle and still be thin but according to BMI I will be overweight.
-
Why is everything sweet?
Everything was sweet to me too, for me that went away about week 3 of post op. I was able to use the broth packets out of ramen noodles. The flavors are stronger and weren't as sweet add your unflavored protein powder to them.

Why am I so cold!?
Pretty much, from all the vlogs and blogs I've read get used to the cold until you reach your goal and your weight stabilizes. The weight loss throws everything out of wack for awhile. I have been freezing since surgery too, it is normal.

change of policy Angeles Hospital in Mexico?
I went to Hospital Angeles in February 2016 & they took my credit card so not too sure where the cash policy is coming in. They told me I could pay with a cashier's check a credit card or a debit card.

Packing List for Mexico VSG
I would add a light (cotton) robe to the list for when you are walking the halls. I too received compression stockings from the hospital as well.

Fatigue/dizziness/lightheaded
It might be dehydration or low blood sugar, how is your fluid intake? At one week out it was a challange for me. Can you add pedialyte to your water; they have flavor packet you can add to your juice or water.

Vent: I'm in LAST place in the weight loss challenge! Really?
I don't know all of your program but you might be gaining muscle and losing fat. Have you measured yourself? My old job we did "biggest loser contests" and found out after the first one that it was unfair for the folks who where working out vs someone who just quit drinking beer. We used some of the entry fee money to hire a personnel trainer to weigh us, measure & do the pinch test to get body fat percentage and then used all three numbers to declare a winner.
