She's Come Undone
I also read this book several years ago. Wally Lamb is a wonderful author. It's too bad he's only written 2 novels. The other novel is entitled I Know This Much Is True, which is also a great read. Completely different subject, but very good nonetheless. He did write a collection of stories from women in York Correctional Institution, but it's just not the same.

Overdue FUN THREAD!!!
LOL...I think I'll always have big boobs, so I guess I'm stuck with JMS-style bras. I tried on a very cute 38D bra the other day and, although it fit perfectly, it just didn't have the support needed for my big boobies.

What is the outcome?
I was a self-pay patient and I don't know much about Medicaid, but from what I understand, they do pay for the surgery as long as you have it done at a Medicaid approved hospital. Check with your local surgeon and their insurance department/people may have some better answers for you. You may also wish to contact Medicaid and ask them directly. Good luck.

What is the outcome?
There is no valve, or other object, outside of your body. The band, the tubing, and the port are all inside of your body. Someone is giving you false information about the port, which is what is accessed when fills are done. It's typically placed under the skin, between the fat and the muscle. A syringe, which contains saline, is inserted into the port. Your doctor will determine how much saline is required at the time of each fill. As far as the outcome of the surgery, most people have good results. Remember, it is a weight loss tool that should be used properly. This is a great place for research. I hope this answers your questions. Good luck.

Yes, Andrea Bocelli is an opera-style singer. He's blind and has a beautiful voice.

American Idol
I was rather shocked myself. Ryan split them up into groups of 3 - Elliott, Kellie & Katharine and then Chris, Paris & Ace......then asked Taylor to stand next to the group he thought was safe. He stood by Elliott, Kellie & Katharine and then Ryan confirmed that his guess was correct.

American Idol
Chris, Paris and Ace were in the bottom 3. Ace went home tonight.....thank GOD!! He drove me nutso.

Messed up Body Image!
I've also always had self-confidence and never had a body image issue. I think what I was struggling with was actually SEEING a difference in my body. Like I said in the other thread, it wasn't until I purchased smaller size clothing that I actually saw a difference. I can definitely tell a difference when I look at my progress pictures.

Gone for Good Club - April 2006
Hey shackdog!! Welcome to bandland and the Gone For Good Club!! Diane - I also went through something similar when I was first starting to lose weight. People would say something and then I would go home, look in the mirror, and wonder what they were smoking. I couldn't see a difference. Of course, this all happened when I was still wearing my size 22/24 clothes. I hadn't purchased new ones so I couldn't see what all of the fuss was about. After I made my first purchase of smaller size clothing, I definitely noticed a difference. My family in Oregon asks me all of the time if my body shape has changed, but it hasn't. I'm smaller, yes, but the shape remains the same. It's kind of weird to look in the mirror and still see the same shape, just a smaller version of it. I'm not complaining, mind you...I like my curves. I do wish that my belly would get smaller quicker than the rest of me. I think if it were gone, I would go down another size. Oh well...I'm patient. I've lived with a big body this long...what's another 6 months or so? Good luck everyone!!

C 202 (- 72 total, - 0 this week) I'm ok with this. Like Gurly, I lost a significant amount last week, so I'm not discouraged.

American Idol
My 3 favorites: 1) Katharine 2) Taylor 3) Elliott My guess for the bottom 3: 1) Kellie 2) Ace 3) Elliott (unfortunately, but he doesn't have a good fan base)

So - what's your status?
Thanks, Cynthia. Your prince charming will show up when you least expect it. That's what happened with me. By the way, the dress is from David's Bridal (http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=1204&prodgroup=134) and, even though I was wearing a size 22/24 back then, the dress is actually a size 18. Their size 22 was too big!! The saleswoman left the dressing room saying she was going to look for a size 20, came back with the 18...I laughed, of course....anyway, I joked and said "If this size 18 fits, I'm buying it!!" I had already loved the dress and planned on buying it anyway, but that gave me even more incentive. Back then though, they only sold the dress with the ivory accent color...now, they have multiple color choices.
