Vitamins
Hello, I had a 12 week required class before I could get a consult with my surgeon (which is when we get a date). In these classes, I learned about pre & post op Vitamins, as well as other important things. So I'll tell you what I am taking now, because I am still pre-op. Please remember, these are based on my blood work results. All my levels were with in a healthy range except my Vitamin D level. Multivitamin **** Must come with zinc, selenium & copper. It also has to have AT LEAST 5,000 units of Vitamin A daily. **If it doesn't have 5,000UI, you should take an extra 25,000 UI of Beta-Carotene twice a week. (I take it every 4 days) B-COMPLEX **** Must contain 30 mg of Vitamin B1 otherwise known as Thiamine daily. Calcium CITRATE **** Men take 1,000mg daily, women over 50 take 1,200mg daily & women under 50 take 1,000mg daily. Do not take more than 600mg at one time or it will be wasted. So I take one serving twice a day. Vitamin D **** 2,000 UI daily. My levels were a little low, so I got a prescription for a higher dose that I take once a week as well as my 2,000 daily. So.... To break it down. 8am - 2 calcium citrate 4pm - 1 Multivitamin, 1 B-Complex, 1 Vitamin D, 1 Biotin & 1 Fish-Oil *Every forth day - 1 Beta-Carotene 25,000UI *If it's Sunday - 1 prescribed Vitamin D * I take Biotin & Fish-Oil on my own. 8pm - 2 Calcium Citrate My doctor told me to take Calcium on its own because it absorbs everything. For POST-Op ...I have a "super" Multivitamin ready for after surgery. It has Calcium in it already. It's called: Post Bariatric Surgery All-In-One Multivitamin & Mineral Supplement Tropical Citrus Flavor Chewables Made by Bariatric Choice I'm supposed to take 4 a day throughout the day. Plus a B-12 every few days. I am considering just getting a shot once a week for after surgery. I'm sorry it's such a long reply but when I was looking for these answers, I didn't get anything. And i was also overwhelmed because I wanted to get it right. Now that I have an idea, I thought I'd share what I've learned. Good luck and I hope I've helped at least a tiny bit. ????

What NSV do you hope for post op?
I have a few that I am happy about being able to do soon. *** Sitting on a chair without my arms folded in front of me to hide my flubbers. *** Being comfortable enough to wear a bathing suit to the beach. *** Not being so insecure that I need a jacket everywhere I go to hide my body. *** My back, ankle and knee not hurting anymore. *** Taking a crazy amount of pictures at places I go to. I'm tired of being ashamed of my appearance... Good luck to everyone!

My location is definitely wherever the soonest date comes. I hope it's harbor city since it's down the street but I have to go back to work August 3rd, so I have no choice but where ever is soonest. I get to see my choice of surgeons next class. I can't wait. And I definitely can't wait to hear about your journey! @@almond_jay Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app

That's great @@almond_jay . I can't wait to hear when your surgery date is. That is so exciting. As for me, I'm still waiting to finish options. I have 2 classes left. Well, I have 3 because I missed class 9. But that make up class is the Monday before my final class on Thursday. So I will graduate with all classes completed by my last class. I have a Question for you if you don't mind. The final quiz (#4) they told us that it would be collected. Is that true? I mean I've done 100% on all the other ones, but they never collected them. Are they really going to collect quiz 4? Is it as easy as the rest of them? I'm not worried, but she did make it seem like it was more important than the rest, and we wouldn't graduate of we didn't pass. Just curious. Thanks for these information. 14Pk Of Syntrax Nectar Samples For $14 (Free Shipping)
HELLOOO!!! I just wanted to update as of today 3/28/2016, they are still selling the sampler for 16.99 (shipping included). I just called the number and didn't think it would work, but it did. YEY. They said it was only a one time buy for the variety pack. After that we have to buy a jar. But it is worth to try all the flavors and check which one you like the best. The number is still 1.866.333..7403 EX 803 They asked where I heard of it and I said BariatricPal and they knew about the site. lol

@@almond_jay ... That's great, I don't see why it wouldn't count. As long as you complete your 12 classes, I guess. Keep me posted on your future appointments and surgery date. I'm so eager to know. I'm at 14 pounds with 2 weeks left after tomorrow. I hope I can get 6 more pounds before I graduate, I've been at 14 pounds for 2 weeks so I don't think I'll make it. But I'm hoping.. Crazy diets
A long time ago, i tried the 48 hour Hollywood diet. UGH You drink some nasty juice all day and nothing else. Worst diet ever, but i was young. I think i was 18 or 19. So young and so gullible. A few years ago I tried the lemonade diet. To cleanse myself. I stopped because I got a terrible rash on my face. Hahahaha ...memories!

Bypass vs. Sleeve
They do something that MAKES YOU HUNGRY???? REALLY???no! Don't know where you got that information.@spicyfrog had typed that ^^^^^ up there. I'm wondering what Spicyfrog means... No no no, what she said was, they move around your nerves so you don't feel hungry. She said it differently, but that's what she meant. I don't know how true that is, BTW. I'm just clarifying the misunderstanding.

Very First Weigh-In
I forgot to update. @@jane13 ... I ended up being exactly 5'5". Lol .. Also, I asked the nurse and she said they go by my referral weight. So, even if I had lost weight then, it would have been okay. But I am glad I waited till my official weigh in..

@@almond_jay I was focused on primier too but I wanted to get something that I could use after surgery. Stick to the same brand, you know? My Options teacher said not to use protein made from concentrate. She said all protein has to be made from isolate and that is what I've been looking for. I bought Isoflex chocolate and peanut butter. It's not all that. Then again, I only enjoy strawberry in any protein. I will try that one before I give up on the brand. It has 27 grams of protein per scoop. 1g of carbs, 0g sugar and 0g Fat.. I think I will definitely try Nectar. I remember they showed us a sample of it. Thanks for letting me know it's okay. Lol. I was scared to try it. Any way.. I just bought the move controller for my PS3 and the Just dance 4 game. Excellent workout. My little brother (he's 10, I'm 33) has it in the Wii U and I loved it so much. I can't wait to dance. It even calculates your calories. Walking was cool until the weather was in the mid 90's.. I was NOT excited about that. Now I'm getting back to working out.

@@almond_jay That's the exact same thing I said about my birthday... stupid birthday.. Lol Yeah, they told me I'd only be able to eat an ounce. I'm okay with that as long as I take my Vitamins. If they told me that I could only eat that much more, then I would be scared. Because I'd starve.. But after surgery, it will feel like it's way too much. I look forward to not being hungry all the time. I've actually been off of work since August because of a shoulder injury. My disability insurance only covers 1 year of off work pay. So ready or not, I have to go back to work at the end of July. I hope I will have my surgery sometime in May. That will give me a good 2 months to fully recover before going back. I work for USPS, so it requires a lot of movement. If I wasnt already off, I'd probably take 2 months off only because my job is hard manual labor. What about you? How long do you think you will be off? How about Protein? Did you find anything that doesn't taste gross? I'm still looking.. It's hard.

Hahaha @almond_jay .. I was just thinking of doing this same thing last night, but I feel asleep with my phone in hand. I was so tired. We pulled a monopoly all nighter. You know how that can get. Anyway, I am half way through Options. WooHoo! I fell off the wagon because I celebrated my 33 birthday and didn't care. My family saw it as, enjoy your last birthday before your life changes forever. I'm back on today but it took me a while to come back. I am still down 8 pounds. At least I still have that. I asked my brother to let me have his old Wii to workout with. I find the Just Dance games to be very fun. My goal is to lose 15 lbs before I graduate Options. Tell me, what all should I expect in my next 6 classes? I am so excited to start learning about post-op stuff, like Vitamins and what not. How much have you lost? I am so excited to be back in action. I felt terrible eating cakes. Lol
