    Surgical Center Conservative With Fills

Good to know, I don't want to rush them either. I ended up just getting .2 again. I was actually at 3.7 so now I'm at 3.9. She told me to make an appointment 2 months from now and to cancel it if I dont need it. Well I left and made an appointment a month from now because I think I will need it. I'm just starting back on food after liquids and I think I do feel some restriction. So I will see how this goes, I guess... Good news is I'm down 3 pounds this week ????
  2. So I go in for a fill tomorrow. I am almost exactly 6 months out. This is my 4th fill. What is bothering me is how slow they are progressing me. I have a total of 3.7 CC's in my 14 CC band. I really haven't felt much restriction. I can eat more than the 1 cup I am supposed to be satisfied on (even though I usually don't) and I do not stay full for the four hours I am supposed to stay full for. The doctor put 2 full CC's in at surgery time so my fills have been 1 CC, .5 CC and the last one .2 CC. She said she will continue to put .2 CC's in each time from now on. I am required to come in every month until I am one year out. At this rate it seems that it will take me the whole year just to get to green or close. Isn't this very conservative? I know the dangers of an overfill, but this seems excessive. I wonder if it is because I am still losing some weight? I am down 72 lbs total and they just count the lbs. since surgery which would be 57. So does my weight loss need to stop before they will up it? I am exercising 5 to 6 days a week which is why I am still losing. Even so, I looked at my records and I have only lost 5 lbs in the last 4 weeks. I know any progress is progress, but I feel as though my eating is holding me back from the 10 lbs. a month I would like to see. The lady who does my fills also mentioned the average is 5.3. I will never get there any time soon, and certainly not even within the year after surgery? So should I insist on a bigger fill or try and find a different place for fills? The surgical center is an hour from my home. I have insurance, but still have to pay about $130 per fill with my co payment. Anyone go this slowly or is this normal? Thanks for any answers or experiences!

How long were you off work?

I had mine on a Wednesday and was back to school Monday (I teach 2nd grade). I only had 3 days to work and then it was winter break. Basically I got through it but I was hurting. The worst was sitting down and I had to sit for the Christmas concert. I had warned the kids they had to give gentle hugs, but I was really parnoid about getting bumped in the stomach. I feel like I should have taken those three days off.

What are your favorite exercise videos?

I tried 30 day shred but the video seemed to have a lot of high impact (like jumping jacks). Of course this could be modified and the program may work but I became disinterested in it. I have had success in using Zumba dvds. The exhilaration set comes with some light toning stick (weights) for toning exercises. I really like the toning dvd that came with that set (workout is called ripped). The sticks are light but they sell a little heavier set that is included with the Zumba tone up system. I now have the exhilaration, tone up system, awesome legs and booty (comes with a rizer which is a step), and the incredible slim down. So I am really into it, lol! I like how most of the time the videos show the modified version. Of the ones I have tried of the Zumba sets the incredible slimdown is probably the most high impact (and does HIIT or interval training). All are great workouts. The videos always encourage you to find a live Zumba class in your area, but I have no desire to injure anyone I did see an Aqua Zumba class offered in my area so maybe someday. I am really glad I tried them because even six months ago I couldn't even imagine doing anything remotely like them. I am about 4 1/2 months out from surgery(lap band) and down 58 lbs. I feel a lot stronger and I actually can do some of the high impact moves even if it is only for 15 seconds. Let us know if you try any other dvds, I'm always looking for variety.

    I'm going to scream....

I agree they are probably just trying to compliment, however that's a little ridiculous. I would comment a fact like well my BMI is .... so I'm still considered obese or overweight or something to that effect. Of course that would be like telling people what you weigh if you are comfortable. I got some comments right after surgery, but not very many anymore (I'm four months out). I've lost 57 lbs so I know there is some difference-but I don't see much. I do get a lot of comments on my clothes like nice spring colors or nice top, but that is the person noticing the weight I think. Anyways I just say thanks and change the subject if it is about my weight and I'm not comfortable. The worst for me is when they stare and obviously look at my body like I am losing weight, but then don't say anything. Talk about awkward ! People get jealous. Fact of life, unfortunately.

    Premier Protein Shakes New Flavor!

I was excited to hear about this. If my Walmart doesn't have them I will have to order (no Sam's close by). I love real banana flavor (think banana bread) but not the artificial flavor (think banana runts) so I hope it is good! I actually prefer the strawberry, and chocolate is okay.
  12. Flintstones Chewable were listed on the paperwork from my surgery center. They are very affordable and very available anywhere. The other supplement recommended was a viactiv calcium chew. Again cheap and available. I do feel your center might be trying to make money off of you if they want you to only buy their vitamins.
