Any January 7th sleevers? Would love to connect!
What are you all using as protein shakes??? I like the pre-made premier protein chocolate shakes--I have the powder form & mix it w/ milk, but I can't drink it--too sweet & thick. I have a cream of chicken protein soup that's nice & savory.

Day 5: miserable
Yes, I was alarmed by the lack of movement in the first 5 days, as well. A peri colace and adding miralax to a protein shake twice a day did the trick for me.

@@Tiffany94 my surgeon said it's even very common to gain weight from the internal swelling & all of the IV fluids at the beginning. You are doing great--hang in there! Bigger number drops are coming!

Way to go @@cpervan! Sorry about the nausea. That sounds terrible. My doc prescribed 4mg of zofran & it does the trick for me. I've only gotten nauseous when I take too many vitamins too close together & it's an AWFUL feeling.

Hair loss?
Weird question--has anyone asked their surgeon about propecia?? I've had a family member that's had wonderful results taking a pill a day--it helps hold on to the hair you have left--but only the brand name. Studies are showing that the generic version isn't working the same. My surgeon says no for me b/c I already have rather low blood pressure, but I'm SO curious as to if propecia could stop that telogen hair shedding phase that happens with rapid weight loss & physical trauma. I really wish I could take it & see!

Will anything ever taste good again?
@@OutsideMatchInside I just ordered some of the Syntrax yesterday. Is strawberry or strawberry kiwi the flavor that you recommended?? Thanks!

Any January 7th sleevers? Would love to connect!
I had my sleeve procedure on January 7th & things have gone quite well. I haven't been to a support meeting since my procedure--they keep getting cancelled due to inclement weather. I've lost 27lbs so far (including the 2 week liquid diet prior to surgery) & am excited to wake up every day. It's amazing what a little hope will do in your life! The weather is pretty cold, so I've been walking the length of the house figure 8 style (lol!) for 15-20 min twice a day. Getting a little bored w/ the premier protein shakes, but am thankful to have one I like! Also making some liquified vegetable soup w/ protein powder. So far, so good!

Stomach growling?
Wow, I've never heard that. Thank you!

Drinks that are not carbonated?
I'm 2 weeks post-sleeve & water tastes really weird. I've never been a crystal light fan, but I LOVE the sweet tea flavor--not sweet tea with lemon, but just sweet tea flavor.

Pain/Discomfort/Recovery: C-Section vs. Gastric Sleeve?
C-section was much more difficult than the sleeve for me. The most uncomfortable part of the sleeve process for me was the JP drain that I had for the 1st week.

Stomach growling?
I'm 15days post-sleeve & my stomach growls & feels empty, EVEN during & after drinking my protein shake. I hear so many people say they have to remind themselves to eat, but I feel hungry! Am I the only hungry one??

January or February 2016 Sleevers?
I also did the mani/pedi thing the day before my surgery 2 weeks ago. When I had my pre-op meeting at the hospital w/ nurse & anesthesiologist the afternoon before my procedure, they said no nail polish! They said polish interferes with an accurate HR monitor reading or oxygen saturation reading (can't remember)--the thingy they clip onto your finger. My compromise was to remove gel polish from one finger & one toe (sometimes they clip that thing onto a toe! Well, 2 weeks later & my mani/pedi still looks great...except for the one bare finger & toe, LOL!

Will anything ever taste good again?
I'm 2 weeks post sleeve and am mostly having premier protein shakes and a creamed of chicken protein soup when I'm feeling like something "savory." Every yogurt tastes very artificial and the puréed soup that I've made with protein powder (I like UnJury chicken soup protein powder) & liquified just tastes kind of terrible. Now I prayed that sugar would taste terrible to me post-op b/c I love sweets, but savory vegetable purées taste quite bad too. Has anyone else had this problem?? Does it ever go away??

Night Sweats?
I'm 2 weeks post-sleeve and also had night sweats throughout my 1st week, but they stopped in the 2nd week.
