  9. What were their requirements for approval? Is south the same as north do you think?
  10. I have Tricare North and I knowctheychave recently approved the sleeve. Wondering if anyone else out there also has Tricare and is getting the sleeve. I am at my half way mark. I just had my 3rd visit and psych clearance today. Hoping for a May surgery. Does anyone know what all is needed for them to clear you for surgery?

  15. Hi Lindsey. I saw my nutritionist day 1 of my first visit. I see her each time I go. I ha to to for 6 months of visits tho. I'm going thru Allegheny Health Network facility in Pittsburgh Pa and I do have Tricare North. You will need an endoscope, ekg, treadmill test for your heart, sleep study, all your gyne updated and full bloodwork done. Welcome to the site and good luck to you. I'm 3 months in. Half way. My apt is on Jan 7th for my next one. Il looking at April/May for my surgery. Good luck! If you have any questions you can always contact me!
  16. Hello MommyT01!!! Welcome! I have not went to any information meetings although I may go to one this month. I'd love to sit and listen to what others have to say. How about you? Have you went to any yet? I am going to my 3rd visit Jan 7th with the physician assistant, NUT and now the psychologist at this visit. I'm half way!!! 3 more visits after this! Monday I'm having an endoscopy and next week I have a second sleep study to do since they discovered I have apnea???? What area in Pittsburgh are you from? And where will you be having your surgery?
  17. Hi. Thanks for writing back so quickly. I'm always curious where folks are from. I think it's kinda kinda neat to think of locations. I will be done at West Penn as well. Who did your surgery? I will be done by Dr Eid. April/May. How are you doing at this point? How was your overall experience?
  18. Bek Gal I'm so impressed with how well your doing! I can understand wanting the other tastes by now! I'm sure your going alittle nuts by now! Just imagine how good things will taste! Even simple things! I'm proud of you. Keep it up!
  19. Hi Adeisha, Welcome to the club of sleevers! I too have to go through 6 months of visits and not gain any weight. I'm not quite sure what would happen truthfully. I do know there are some insurances say that they will not allow the procedure if you gain but I'm not sure if they're talking 20 pounds or 4 like your saying. This is a good question! I am actually going to my next visit on the 7th. I will ask. Where are you from by the way?!?
  20. Hi all! I'm with Tricare North and I'm also getting the sleeve. I was told it is now an approved procedure and we are going through the process of what I need to get done to have it! Make sure you call directly since not everyone may be informed and website information may not be updated correctly. Good luck everyone!~Dawn~
  21. I can't figure out how you can put so much into you so early and meet those magic numbers. I mean the ounces of fluids and proteins required daily is a lot and that space just is so small. I can see it being a bit of a struggle. Are you using any hair vitamins since I've heard you lose your hair from this? I know eating a lot of proteins help and I've also heard biotin helps also. I had surgery last year and lost a bunch from the meds and trauma of the surgery. Ya I'm not sure if doing all that waking was so good for ya. Glad your recouped with a nap!???? How ya doing with sleep positions?
