  1. Congratulations! I'm so happy for you. One thing that is important is to make sure you're mentally prepared. Watch a lot of YouTube videos of people that have experienced this journey. Try to join Facebook groups to have moral support and etc... Did the doctor say that you would have to start a pre-op diet?
  2. Had my surgery on the 11th. I hope everything goes well with you guys! Wishing the best of luck! ????
  3. *Also it does very well depend on your surgeon! Some people have had to go on the pre-op diet for a month, 2 weeks, or even 2 days.
  4. Congratulations! So happy for you. After I got approved it took me about a month to see my doctor. I consulted with him which then he put me on a two week diet. This involved me eating 2 meals (Protein and veggies) and two Protein shakes. After that two week period I had my surgery the very next day. Wish you the best of luck!
  5. I made one of the hugest decisions of my life 4 days ago to have the VSG (which I'm sure many of you did ????) and I'm honestly at a crossroads here. I'm deciding if I regret getting the sleeve or if it's the best thing I've done. I'm sitting here thinking to myself "what the hell have I done to my body?". My stomach is bruised and sore, I'm nauseated and I feel completely out of control of myself and out of the loop. Im emotionally vulnerable and feel very sensitive at times. I'm craving weird things. I'm afraid that I did let food once control my lifestyle because the past few days... Food has been the main thing I think about. I barely can drink anything. The sight of ANYTHING involving Protein makes me sooo queasy! I'm having a very difficult time reaching my Fluid and protein intake. On the other hand, I know that this will be a POSITIVE life changing experience! I try to stay optimistic in regards of the matter but sometimes you have to face the truth. I miss eating food. I didn't realize how much food consumed me but I do miss it. I'm slowly getting over the notion of eating how I use to but it's just hard. It's one of the hardest things I've had to do in my life but nevertheless, I will patiently wait to see that rainbow. I have to say that this site with everyones inquiries has been my lifeline since 3 months before the surgery to 4 days post OP. This site is amazing. The people are uplifting and inspiring. I guess I had to write down everything to truly understand how I am feeling. I know that this will be a tough journey but I am ready for it. Whoever read this, thanks for your attention and good luck on your journey as well. ????
  6. Aww I had mind on Wednesday. How are you feeling?? How was the experience for you? *MINE
  7. Definitely in! I'll start tomorrow, twice a day, and four times a week. Wish you guys the best of luck! ???? Current weight: 243 (11/15) Goal weight: 236 (11/22)
  8. I'm 4 days post-op and I literally can not stomach protein. I feel nauseous at the site of it. I can do green tea or water but I'm having such a hard time getting my proteins in, which is probably why I feel slight dizzy waking up. I just have no idea what to do or how else to get the protein I need.
  9. It's definitely a journey. I'm feeling fatigued due to me not getting as much of protein but oppose to that I'm never hungry. I still crave for foods but I forever feel full. It's just the fact that I'm so use to eating food, it's hard to adjust to this new lifestyle! Are you nervous about your procedure?
  10. Hey! Just looking for newbies to help me throughout this journey. I'm 4 days post op!
  11. I just had mine 4 days ago ????. I'm excited for you guys! Hope everything goes well.
  12. ???? I envy you so much. I'm so ready to get to that stage where I can eat normally and go out with friends while eating without it being awkward.
  13. Omg, someone help me like what the heck is going on! I praise the lord for this surgery but who would of ever thought I would have these many cravings? Whether it's the Hillshire GO MEAT commercial to an Olive Garden commercial! Every little thing looks so good to me. Did anyone else feel like this a week after their surgery? I'm 4 days post op btw!
