Travel a few months following surgery
Thank you SKCanada for asking this question. I just had surgery Dec. 30th and will be traveling from Alaska to Italy in March. I was wondering the same thing! Does anyone know what custom's restrictions are for bringing supplements and Snacks abroad?

Patience is a virtue...... (pshh)
The process for me was about 8 months. But my insurance company required 6 months of visits with my primary care physician. I began in April ish and I'm scheduled for Dec 30th. It is a long process and kind of a waiting game towards the end. Try to be patient, you'll get there

Medication/Pills during the first few weeks
Hi There, Did anyone have a hard time swallowing pills after the initial surgery? I've been told that you can't "gulp" beverages after the surgery but I'm worried I will have a difficult time taking my regularly prescribed medication. Especially right after the surgery and weeks to come. Any advice?

Liquid diet preop ?
my doctor requires a high Protein, super low carb diet for two weeks prior to surgery and a liquid diet a few days before. today I started the high protein diet. I feel super lucky that I don't have to do a liquid diet for longer than that. Any word from your doctor dlh16?

Finally! One step closer ~ any advice?
I just got word today that my insurance company approved my surgery! I guess my insurance company is notorious for denying so I'm super relived. Now I am waiting to hear from scheduling to find out when I will finally be going under the knife. It's been a long road getting here and I know there's more to come but I'm happy that I'm now closer to my goal. Now I need to prepare for the special pre-surgery diet. My doc requires a high Protein, low carb diet two weeks before had and liquid diet three days prior to surgery. Anyone have any advice about how I should prepare? Thank you!

Waiting for Insurance
Hi There, I'm new to this site and am very excited that I've found this outlet. I live in a remote part of Alaska and do not have access to regular support group meetings. Online is the only option I have at this time. I would love it if someone in my area started a support group and would really like to connect with people in my area of the world. I have just completed my final test and am waiting for my surgeon to submit my claim to insurance. This has all been quite the process. I live about 6 hours away from my surgeon and had to go through a six months of tests and appointments. I am very excited to be so close and cannot wait until I can finally take the leap. If anyone has any advice or suggestions, please feel free to do so. Thank you! Brandy
