  1. Bypass doll.....My plan combined the puréed stage with the dental soft food stage....so I was on clear liquids the first week, puréed/soft dental weeks 2&3 then weeks 4&5 GI soft foods, now at week 6 I'm on regular foods and the only things that change from now on is the amount of food I eat ...I think until I eventually reach 1 cup [emoji3]
  2. I'm 6 weeks post op and have had the feelings of regrets and bouts of crying many many times!! The thing that bothered me most was the lack of energy to do simple tasks like taking a shower! All that is much better now [emoji3] I'm just entering the regular foods stage now and I have to admit it is Scarey trying new foods hoping not to dump! Then there is the scale...I dropped weight off super fast the first week...then I stalled for a week and a half...that was very hard on my mental well being....I thought...what the heck did I do to myself!!!??? I cried a lot during that period [emoji53] The pounds still aren't coming off at a rate I'm happy with but the inches are coming off...I'm finding bones!! [emoji12]. It will get better....we just have to focus on the long term results...How can we not lose weight in the long run??
  3. Yes ....I cried and had regrets for the first few weeks! I'm 6 weeks post op today and feeling much better! We got this!! [emoji3][emoji106]
  4. My plan says crackers are ok as long as they are paired with protein. I too like tuna, chicken and egg salad on crackers.
  5. Sorry you are going through this....I feel for smokers going through WLS...Not only do they have to give up the comfort of food but also cigarettes....oh and if you are a social drinker...triple whammy! I'm fortunate in that I neither drink nor smoke....never have [emoji3]
  6. Djmohr , Thank you for the advice. I'm glad to know that not everyone dumps. I was under the impression that you will dumb if you eat these certain foods. I plan on staying away from those foods for awhile [emoji3] Don't want to lose my "window" of losing!
  7. Good luck Threetimesacharm! I'm hoping it will be easier to find something at most restaurants once I can eat raw veggies. I laugh at my Nutritionist...she says see if they will let you order off the kids menu. Have you looked at the foods on the kids menu? Not exactly bariatric friendly! [emoji12]
  8. I have this horrible fear of eating out and dumping in public places. Does anyone else have this fear? I am 4.5 weeks post op and have not experienced dumping syndrome yet. I hate having this fear! Will I get past this? I don't want to live in fear of going places for the rest of my life [emoji53]. What do you do when you travel? My son lives a 10 hr drive away from us and we usually make this trip 4 times a year. Then while visiting him it always involves site seeing, eating out and always on the go....As of right now I feel like I'm not going to enjoy this anymore [emoji53]. One of the reasons for having this surgery is so I can enjoy physical activities while visiting him. Thanks for any input [emoji4]
  9. If they are the New Whey protein shots...I thought they were disgusting, but other people have liked them. I only tried the fruit punch flavor [emoji12]
  10. Called the Drs office today....nothing to be alarmed about...She thinks I strained too much.....heating pad and Tylenol for a few days [emoji2]
  11. Would be nice if this come with a troubleshooting manual! [emoji12]
  12. I had an episode yesterday morning where I all of the sudden broke into a cold sweat and started to feel like I was going to throw up. Now my pouch is not feeling well still this morning. It is tender if I press on my stomache ....I don't think it was dumping because I had the same thing for breakfast that I've been having every morning for the past week...a protein shake. Could I just have a bug? It's not a sharp pain...just kind of a dull ache...full feeling. Tomorrow will be week 3 post op. Just curious if anyone has experienced this and wondering if I should call my Drs office....Thanks for any advice given [emoji4]
  13. Yay!! Congrats! ????????????
  14. I called BCBS and my stuff is still in review ???? at least I know they received it on January 13th so that's good to know ????...Waiting when you are so close stinks!
  15. Isn't it funny how there are so many different opinions...especially from our bariatric teams ????
  16. CHMD.....how exciting! Best of luck to you!!
  17. CHMD...thank you for the info! Do you have a surgery date yet? Learningtolive.....I hope everything goes perfectly for you!
  18. Good question! Some of those supplements are quite disgusting ????
  19. Thank you so much for your juju ????....I hear you on the good old USPS taking forever! Once I have an actual date then I will start to get nervous I'm sure...but right now I'm excited and anxious!
  20. Had my last appointment with my Surgeon on Tuesday 1/12/16.....I have completed all my required steps per my insurance ????. Waiting is so stressful! My surgeon was very pleased with my progress and ready to move forward...that made me happy! I was told it will probably be around the end of February beginning of March...I was hoping for mid February but that's ok....I just want to get this new chapter in my life started!
  21. My bariatric nurse said these are ok to use ....she gave me a tip also...she said replace part of the water in sugar free jello mix with a tube of the new whey protein ????
  22. Rking ...wooohooo!! Our Walmart only carries the fruit punch so I may have to order some online and try it....thanks for the review!
  23. Not sure what to pack...I'm thinking about wearing my pajamas to the hospital and back home because they are loose fitting and I won't have to pack too much. My binder says bring a robe and slippers, toiletries, ect.
  24. The Isopure are disgusting! If I had to drink those I don't think I could go through with the surgery ☹️. I found the New Whey protein shots at Walmart. They aren't good by no means but I can choke it down. They are kind of thick too like a jello that isn't set up yet. I see so many reviews online about how good the Nectar powders are too...I've tried a few and so far the only on that is tolerable to me is the Strawberry Mousse mixed with skim milk....tastes like a week strawberry qwick. By far my favorite liquid protein (not clear) is the chocolate Premier protein shakes.
