  1. Thanks everyone! Love hearing from people who have gone through this as opposed to just medical options ????
  2. How long after surgery were you comfortable/allowed to drive again?
  3. I have been watching videos from people who have had the gastric sleeve on YouTube, and there is one girl on there who I really like. She has also started another channel for low carb cooking. It's Laura's vsg tube in case anyone else would like to follow her. She's funny, down to earth, honest and very helpful.
  4. Would love to connect with you! I actually struggled to get my bmi to 35 to be approved for surgery. I had struggled with a bmi of 32-34 for years. I just feel so awful all the time. No diet or woke out routine has worked except for maybe 5 pounds. So frustrating. Right now I'm around 197 and I'm 5'3" tall. I'm 41... We have 5 kids, ages 21,19,16,11,&3. I want to be an healthy and active as possible for our little one. I'm nervous about the lifetime changes but I'm hoping after feeling and looking much better it will be a compromise I don't mind making ????. I live in nc...
  5. I have been concerned about joining a fb group due to the fact I don't want others to see I have joined a group relating to gastric surgery. Does is show up or can people search groups and see who the members are? There are many reasons I have chosen to keep this between only my husband and I... Some of which are probably very similar to many others who are doing the same
  6. My sleeve is set for November 10... One week away. Trying to get all the supplements and groceries now.
  7. Thanks guys. I'm sure I'll have more questions along the way. Nice to have a place I can get suggestions from people in the same boat. ????
  8. Are there reasons why hot chocolate or teas would be something to stay away from?
  9. My surgery date is also the 10th... My dear sweet grandmother's birthday and i feel she will be there with me in spirit, but my nerves are setting in for sure.
  10. My sleeve surgery is set for 11/10... I'm nervous but excited. I'm worried about the upcoming thanksgiving gorge fest that happens every year at my parent's house. There will be mashed potatoes but I'm thinking I may not even be able to eat that. When you hear "you can't eat that" does that mean because it into dietary or is it because it could hurt the surgery? Are there foods that could possibly rupture the surgical site? (I'm also not thrilled about forever giving up Sprite, but i am thrilled about hopefully seeing a size 6 again)
