  1. I had my second fill today. I think he said I'm a 2cc. I was pretty good today, eating softly, if you know what I mean. I haven't felt hungry at all today. Hope it stays that way. I told my husband that all junk food much be removed, at once.
  2. I feel better about having another fill. It's hard to get rid of all of the bad foods at my house. We do eat healthy foods too, but my husbands a snacker and big eater. Of course he's the skinny one. But I think he would understand, if I had to toss the junk food. It's funny, but even after posting last night, I was more motivated. Guess it just helps to write it down. Thanks to everyone for you input.
  3. I was banded on 9-9-05; without a fill. I lost about 10 lbs pre-op and 40 lbs. after. Another 50 lbs to lose before reaching my goal. My first fill on 3-15-06 helped me lose another 3 lbs. I keep gaining and losing those 3 lbs. though. I can eat anything and larger portions than I should. I’m afraid my “pouch” will stretch, if I’m not careful. I’m making poor food choices too. I did notice that if I get involved in conversation while eating meat and not chewing well, it does stick…OUCH! Having difficulty right now, staying motivated. I keep telling myself, that I have come this far and I have to keep going. Does it sound like I need a fill?
  4. Welcome! I had my surgery on Thursday Sep-22-05 at the Peoria IL Methodist Hospital. Dr Thomas Rossi is my surgeon. I have lost 19# to date. Lost 10.5# prior to surgery on the clear liquid diet. That was probably due to the liquid diet and similar bathroom visits; if 'ya know what I mean. I was able to have a "last meal", where I could eat anything I wanted for that one meal. It was heaven! The staff advised that the last meal should not be done the night before, so I waited 'til day 5. Too scared to cheat because they said something like the reason for the pre surgical diet is to soften the liver. I think the doctor has to move it in some way during the surgery. I only had a headache once and it wasn't that bad so I didn't take anything. The instructions that were given to me stated, the only pain reliever to use was Tylenol. Good luck! I know you can do it!
  5. The recipe for black bean soup sounds easy and yummy. I was banded on 9-22-05. Do you think I can eat this soup at this point or should I wait? I'm really getting bored with the "full liquid" diet; especially after being on the 10 day clear liquid diet before surgery.
  6. Thank you for the welcome. Yes, it will be nice to have a place to ask questions and share experiences.
  7. Hi Pam, I'm from Moline IL. I had to go to Peoria because none of the doctors in the Quad Cities will do lap band yet. I think you were brave, going out of the country for your surgery. I was scared enough having it done in the US.
  8. Hi, I had my surgery on Thursday Sep-9-05 at the Peoria IL Methodist Hospital. Dr Thomas Rossi is my surgeon. I lost 10.5# prior to surgery on the clear liquid diet. I would like to lose another 100#. I'm healing quite nicely and probably should go back to work Wednesday or Thursday. I just want to make sure that I have this eating schedule down since at my place of employment, I have to account for every minute away from my desk. Merry
