Excess Skin: And the Emotional, Thick Skinned Woman
This is exactly how I felt too. I've lost 60 lbs and am pretty happy. Would like to lose 40 more but thought maybe 20 would be better and help keep me from having super saggy skin.

My 600 Pound Life: 2016 Season
My insurance is the same way, my tummy tuck will have to be performed by my WLS because I also have a hernia which is used as the reason for the surgery. I wouldn't have him fix the girls and would rather pay out of pocket for that.

Who do you want to be after?
I want to wear a sheath dress, pencil skirt and a button down shirt (not together of course). And never have to shop at a plus sized store again. I am close but still need to wear a 14W in pants.

Staying on track when you're under the weather
I've been sick too and have been sticking with Protein shakes and bars and trying to get extra water/Powerade. I am struggling with taking medication. I took some mucinex D and a cough medicine the other night and it produced severe abdominal pain; I almost went to the ER. Now I am trying to stick to sudafed and my humidifier at night for the cough. I've also upped by Vitamin D too. I am worried about getting an upper respiratory infection and needing an antibiotic. I am not exercising because my personal trainer told me your body can't heal itself efficiently from a workout and a cold and said to rest to allow it to heal itself from the cold first. Hope you feel better.

What’s Your Attitude Towards Carbs?
I try to stick with the better carbs but every couple of days eat a small amount of bread or crackers. I found this seems to confuse my body and the scales seems to move again. I stay away from trigger carbs such as Pasta and don't feel good if I eat any pizza even though I could probably eat half of a piece. I know if I limit myself entirely I am setting myself up for failure and really want to be successful at this for the long term.

Why we fail to continue succeeding:
I never thought about it on the food side, I was thinking on the exercise side because that is what my old trainer always had me do (just 2 more reps or minutes of <<insert exercise>>). I love your ideas, keep them coming!

Hair Loss & Using Permanent Color
I asked my hair stylist about this at my last appt since she had WLS and is familiar with the process and she said I could continue since my hair is very healthy. She was excited I would lose hair because I have a lot of it and appointments take awhile. She said the bad thing will be the new hair because it will be short and virgin untreated hair (no volume and unruly). I have longish hair and she said I may want to cut it shorter to let the new hair catch up. I take Biotin but I still lose a ton of hair, my ponytail is about half the size it used to be. Small price to pay IMO.

LOOK LOOK LOOK! I'M IN THE TWO'S

Why we fail to continue succeeding:
Great post and I LOVE the 1% increase and making it a mindset. I really wish I could remind myself to be happy with the 1% increase, instead I have an all or nothing which gets me into trouble. Hope you have a wonderful Holiday!

I took it before bed and nothing but some rumbling. I'll take some more this weekend since I will be home in case the volcano erupts.

How long before MOM will start to work? I don't want it to start working while I am at the office as I want the privacy. I am literally starting to feel desperate and I have 10 days before I leave to go out of the country. My dr wants this resolved before then because the traveling will compound the issue (she is recommending traveling with a suppository ). I am scared of MOM after this thread.

No Sex? WTF

Does burping mean my pouch is full?
Me too and it's the dead of winter so it can't be allergies. I have a 3 mos check up tomorrow so I was going to ask the Dr.

people not educating themselves
I really think they don't have enough self awareness of their actions and then have the surgery and realize this is real. I saw people in our pre-op nutritional classes sitting in their cars eating fast food breakfasts and drinking vats of soda or iced coffees. It blew my mind to think people are surgically altering their body to lose weight but not putting in the effort at all. Probably the same people asking what to eat and drink.

there is no thing like a good poop. I won't even weigh myself until I've had a good poop. Never heard of smooth move tea but I'll have to hunt that down.

Just learned my surgeon doesn't give pain meds after surgery!
I agree with Catwoman7, I took 2 pain pills when I got home and I probably could have taken tylenol. In fact, I routinely tried to get them to give me less pain meds in the hospital because they made me so sleepy and itchy and I had to take Benedryl for the itchiness which caused me to be more sleepy. Could you get your PCP to give you pain meds should you need them?

Traveling out of the country
thank you for the advise. I wasn't aware those existed.
