  1. Congrats to everyone on their journey. I'm having my surgery in April I have a 6 month supervised nutrition appointments. I'm also from Hilliard Ohio having surgery at Riverside.
  2. Congrats to you! Anytime you want to chat just message me. I didn't know you have to have a pap?? I had my twins almost 3yrs ago and me and my husband decided it was best for me to get my remaining tube tied. I'm kind of torn about my surgery. I can have mine come March but we go on our annual family vacation in July. My family says wait and have it done the week we get back. My hubby says why wait get it done. My surgery won't be done laparoscopic so healing time 6 weeks for me. Anywho I'm not sure if I want to wait until after vacation at this point. Congrats on you for being smoke free.
  3. I'm 3 months into my 6 month supervised nutritionist appointments. Next step upper GI. Anyone having surgery in 2016??
  4. Congrats to you on your journey! I just found out it's only a 6 month wait instead of 9 months. I'm so excited.
  5. My mom has kept her weight off since her surgery.
  6. My highest weight is 376 but as of today I'm down 5 pounds since I seen my pcp two weeks ago. I see the nutritionist next month for the first time.
  7. For me I battled weight my whole life I tried every diet under the sun. In 1999 my mom had gastric bypass went from 400lb to 150lb she's been such an inspiration to me. I have spinal stenosis and degenerative disc disease which over the years has gotten worse. My surgeons can't do any surgery to repair anything until I lose a good amount of weight. I also have 2 yr old twins I need to keep up with. I want to enjoy life again. I want to be able to go to the zoo and not be in so much pain with the weight I'm carrying around.
  8. What was your turning point when you knew surgery was the answer? Also what was your highest weight?
  9. Does he specify whey isolate or are concentrates allowed? He didn't specify. I will have to ask him though.
  10. My Starbucks is so good at being creative when I say surprise me. I will have to tell them I need something low calorie. I do love the refreshers though those are so yummy.
  11. I think I'm going to try out the chocolate flavor first since I crave chocolate the most.
  12. When I talked with my surgeon at the seminar. He said he likes all his patients in the program before surgery to be on protein shakes. Preferably the whey brand 2x daily with a sensible dinner lots of veggies and fruits.
  13. What kind of milk do u use in the protein shakes?
  14. Any recommendations on shakes I should try?
  15. I drink 10oz one to three times daily of coffee. Also tea but stopped drinking that completely.
  16. I'm way over then! Right now I'm at 1200 calories. Any suggestions on foods that are high sources of protein?
  17. . Thanks so much for all this info. I see the nutritionist in Oct for my 1st appointment. I have gone to the seminars and met with the insurance coordinator. My surgeon requires 5 months in his program no matter what insurance requires which I think is a great thing. Theirs so much to learn. For me it's the sweets that have become my weakness. I have cut myself off off my go to treat which is ice cream. I will allow myself for now low fat ice cream once a week. Sweet tea was always a big weak spot too. I haven't had that in a week. I think for me eating 3x a day is going to be a big change. I have twins so my life is fast paced I'm lucky if I get to drink my coffee hot let alone 3 meals a day. I keeping telling myself one day at a time I have several months to adjust.
  18. Wow! Your regimen gave a lot more insight. I hope I become disciplined during my pre op phase so it's not so hard after. I still have a long ways to go and find these forums are a great source of information.
  19. I'm interested in both before and after I'm new to the journey.
  20. If you don't mind sharing what your daily diet is like now. Thanks!
  21. Hi! Good luck on your journey. I'm starting on my journey as well. My surgery won't be until June 2016.
  22. I've never had a white mocha before. Sounds yummy! I also just stick to the same quad Carmel macchiato with extra carmel. Then I found a mom and pop coffee shop that makes these frozen buckeye frappés OMG pure heaven.
  23. Today I went to chick-fill-A ordered a chicken salad with a diet lemonade. I love their lemonade I can drink a 32oz oz like nothing. The diet lemonade is a no go for me. I just can't stand the taste of what they used in it.
  24. Through this whole process what was the hardest thing for you?
