3 Month Sleeve Update and Half Way There!
You will get there! This early in the game, you still probably have a ton of IV Fluid in you. In the early days I hardly stood on the scale! I recommend you get the Fitbit, changed everything for me! I got it as a gift once, was offended and gave it away. But after seeing how it motivated my husband I gave it another try and it has been the most motivational thing ever. I'm accountable to myself and I can see my progress. When well enough, consider getting one and good luck on your journey!

Actually you start now because it starts in your mind, but when is your Sleeve date? Sending you the best wishes!I start the dreaded liquid diet this week and my surgery date is February 23rd !!!!!!!

3 Month Band to Sleeve Update and Half Way There!
Today marks 3 months since I was re-born into this brave new world! And since that day, I cannot even begin to enumerate the exponential feelings of wellness and hopefulness that have begun to saturate my life. My goodness, I knew I needed help, but I had no idea how much of an addict to food I really was, and how every aspect of my life was somehow either tied around food, or mitigated by food, most of the time in negative nonsensical self-harming ways! Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined, or even supposed in my defeated mind, that I could come so far in so little time! But here I stand, 3 months later, half way there, 54lb’s lighter, working out north of 1 hour every day (no excuses and I love it, and actually look forward to it!), no longer prediabetic, experiencing wellness, dancing around with my kiddos with giddy abandonment, full of energy, wanting to take pictures again, with a renewed sense of self-worth, with a focused mind, doing a double take at that lady in the mirror, being more in control and feeling so positive about most of my food choices. Friends, there is a brand new energy that I oscillate with these days, and there is an inner joy about me that I forgot I was even capable of experiencing. I have spent today with a heart full of gratitude to God, I think that is most of what I feel today. Grateful that I have been rescued from what was not only a miserable, but a horribly unhealthy, sunken life. That I came through surgery and could see the faces of my kiddos again! For the amazing friendships I have made along the way on Bariatric Pals, without whom this journey would have been an infinitely lonelier one. You know who you are…thank you!!! All this…and I’m only half way there!!! I’m more motivated and pumped than ever before. So I wanted to share this with you, thank you all for your love, encourage you in your journey (especially if you were like me, so torn about the decision to do or not to do!) and invite you to let me know where you are in your journey, your thoughts and laments around 3 months, or before or after! Just a collective pause to savor the goodness J Sending you Sunshine! Ellie

To Tell or Not to Tell?
Good for you @@StephanieA ! I would tell your boss you need to have Surgery and it's personal so you really are not comfortable discussing it, but you know he/she will understand and you thank them in advance for their support

To Tell or Not to Tell?
@@Gethealthy2016 I totally understand where you're coming from with work In a way, work can be just as challenging as home because you spend more of your waking hours at work than anywhere else. My personal advice to you is to tell as few people as possible until you're comfortable and confident in the fact that you want to share because once you sure you could never take it back and right now your focus needs to be on you, getting yourself ready, getting your mind ready etc, not responding to other people's fears, questions, reservations, inquisitiveness, Etc But whatever path you choose I wish you the best of luck, you will do awesome and ultimately your weight-loss will bring you to a place where you're happier than ever before! Smiling down at your future babies, knowing you did everything possible to make sure that they have a healthy mama ) Blessings and love

Anyone Irritable?
Amid irritability, you guys are cracking me up (in an "it's funny cuz I understand" type of way! A special shout out to the one who is irritable even before surgery, I hear you!! Indeed I can totally relate to all of it. And like I said, my doctors office has reassured me that fat and adipose tissue store hormones which are dumped into the bloodstream upon the processing of said fat. So basically, as long as I'm loosing fat, I'm a walking, talking hormone cocktail. To mitigate this, I try to work on the Organ between my two ears. I'm fighting back and choosing to see myself as a hybrid human, with an optimized stomach size designed to get me to my goal weight. Fantasizing about reaching my goal weight combined with exercise like walking has gone a long way to keep me focused on why I did this and get the endorphins to work for me. I also often revisit the long list of reasons that I wrote down for going through with his surgery. No matter how frustrated I feel, reading through that list refocuses me every time. I don't want to go back...ever! And that is why I had to do something permanent because left to my own vices, time and time again I have ultimately returned to a morbidly obese State. So to all my brothers and sisters in the sleeve, I hold out a proverbial cup of protein shake and toast to our sleeves "May our irritability melt in light of the happiness our great weight loss results will surely bring us"!!!

Sleeved and Going on a Cruise!
Wow! Congratulations with not gaining! it would seem that would be very hard to do. My weight fluctuates daily and I can def tell on the scale if I've not made the best choices the day before.

Sleeved and Going on a Cruise!
I love going on cruises...I love everything about cruising, and if you are like me...you probably know that the food is one of the best parts of cruising. Well, we have a cruise coming up in a few months, and I am extremely tormented about it! I know I will need to face lots of food at some point in my life, but I also know I'll need some serious strategies to be able to resist some of my favorite deserts for example. By then I will be over half way towards my goal, but not there yet. and I am wondering how I will coup with 7 days on the high seas with all that yummy goodness. A part of me things, no problem, I can do this, while another part is wondering, is this not like an alcoholic leaving mid AA program to go to an All You Can drink Winery? So my question is...are there any cruise lovers out there that have sailed since being sleeved, and if you have any advise for how to coup with the temptation. I would sure appreciate it if you shared your experience.

Anyone Irritable?
@@JamieLogical you are absolutely right! I have noticed that irritability manifests itself worse at hunger times. Maybe that's my body's new way of saying feed me? Very insightful! Maybe I need to eat more regularly. I love the way your Ticker breaks out your weight loss by month! Very encouraging to see that like me some months are better than others and it's all normal and all good and all eventually adds up to a good chunk of weight lost! Bravo!

Anyone Irritable?
WOW @@lauraellen80, you have lost a ton of weight, so obviously you know what you are doing here! Thank you for the advise and reassurance! I saw a therapist before surgery, but felt like he could not relate and I quickly realized that for me...BPals is awesome therapy. You veterans at this know what you are doing and are going through it, so there is no one else that can quite understand and reassure like you do. So thank you! Just knowing it happens and it's normal helps a lot! Good luck!

Anyone Irritable?
Thanks for the response and congratulations on your REMARKABLE loss! WOW, that's amazing what you have achieved. That's how I feel sometimes, a total "B" and I can see myself from the side and I can't seem to stop myself from snapping. But being aware of it and knowing I am not alone helps take the edge off.
