  1. Basically you should wait. Alcohol can cause ulcers in your new stomach. So maybe 4 oz won't "kill you" at three months but neither will a cheat food. Testing your limits with foods you should avoid and alcohol will more than likely cause you issues. Discomfort or dumping or worse a bleeding ulcer. It's best to let your new stomach heal for a year and then reintroduce alcohol. You are choosing this surgery to be a better you, just wait.
  2. exactly... They have nothing to gain by giving you bad information their job is to help you. If you have high BP or are diabetic those things contribute to reasons to have the surgery when insurance just says being fat isn't enough. I have no health problems (YET) that's why I have to keep my BMI over 40. But it's clear I will soon if I don't do something fast. Talk to your dr.
  3. It all depends on your dr and insurance. I can't lose more than 20 lbs. But I should lose about 15.. Go figure
  4. Good luck with time flying... I have my pre op class on Nov13 at that point I will have completed everything and that's all o have left to do other than the pre op for surgery with the surgeon. I'm so ready and time is just dragging by. ????
  5. im not on a restricted diet yet. I'm trying to cut carbs and stop drinking while I eat. I can't lose more than 20 lbs or my bmi won't be high enough. I'm looking forward to the pre op diet cause that will mean surgery is soon!
  6. Thanks guys that is all really helpful. I think I am only going to take 3 days off work plus the weekend so 5 total. I have a desk job so I am hoping to be able to make it thru 8 hour days without feeling toooooo week. I'm confident I can handle it. I'm am really ready to do this. I'm working hard on changing my eating habits I didn't realize they were so bad.
  7. when are you having surgery?
  8. Wow that is really interesting. Very useful as well. I want to be on the go all the time and I am I have three kids and I work and I go to school I'm 13 months away from my bachelors. I'm 41, I don't think I have mental issues but some people may disagree (haha) I want to not worry about my weight getting in my way anymore. Recently I went to New York for a week and walked 10 miles a day. In boots with a heel, I wanted to do so so so much more but just couldn't I was worn out by 730/800 almost every night. I'm 5'1 so ideally my weight should be 120 ish... I don't know how I feel about that, I happen to love my curves and loved them best when I was 150. Currently I weight 240 and my curves are hiding. I think I'm rambling... I'm just ready for this change can't wait to be posting after pics. ????
  9. I haven't had surgery yet! Im set for early December. I'm just looking forward to energy and want to know the best way to get it!
  10. . How is pre op dieting going for you?
  11. How long after surgery did it take you to feel great, full of energy? I feel so tired and lethargic all the time now. I'm looking forward to energy!
  12. What are your emotions like right now. I know the waiting is driving me crazy. I am ready, more than ready. I actually struggling with dieting and I don't know why. I'm not eating a ton of food and I have a few days where I'm solidly sticking to my diet. Then I want sushi. I haven't been given an official plan to follow just don't lose more than 20 if I do my bmi won't be high enough and gain nothing or my insurance won't approve. I havent gained but I'm not loosing either. I was hoping to lose 15 before surgery, but I have 46 days I can do it!!!
  13. I had my psych evaluation today that went well... It's getting close
