  1. I am right there with you but only a few days post op. I hope this isn't something that lasts forever Hope you feel better!
  2. Hello All, I had surgery on Monday, 2/22. Everything went well. My only "ugh" about the whole thing is the gas build up in my abdomen, chest, shoulders, and neck. While in the hospital I did just about 10,000 steps between the day of surgery and the next day to keep the gas moving (I brought my Fitbit). Now I am home and still pacing our hallways but I cannot get comfortable. How long should I expect these gas pains to last?
  3. hi there! I am 3 days post op and have serious gas build up in my chest in shoulders. I was discharged from the hospital yesterday. While in the hospital I did over 10,000 steps by walking the halls night and day and that helped. Is this normal to still feel this pain?
  4. i think that's a good idea. I am only two days post-op and can not even fathom going back to work anytime soon! They will wait for you and they will want you back healthy and focused! Plus you are more important thank any job! Good luck!

  8. Hi Andi's Mom! I am having surgery on 2/22. Very excited! Just ready to do this already! I am a bit nervous as many on here said they did a pre-op diet....my surgeon only requires no food the day before and no liquids beginning at midnight the day before. What about you? 9. Wow! That was a pretty close approval to your surgery! When did they submit the paperwork? Good luck!!!They submitted it 1/21 and I called the last few days and they kept saying it's pending. Well this morning I called and asked for the reviewing department and I spoke with an individual and explained to him that I'm due to have surgery on 2/1 and he told me he was going to expedite it. Stated that I should hear something by the end of day today. Well I heard back within 4 hours. The wait is finally over.that is awesome! Congratulations! Wishing you a smooth surgery and speedy recovery!
  10. I have BCBS but I don't think it's technically a claim but rather an approval so it most likely won't show up. I feel your pain with the wait! I am with you! Hang in there!
  11. 2/22/16! Waiting on insurance! The wait is killing me! ????
  12. Wow! That was a pretty close approval to your surgery! When did they submit the paperwork? Good luck!!!

  15. It sounds like you need more time for sure! I would say a desk job it would be ok after a month but you are always on the move! Take care of yourself and stay out as long as you can! Good luck!
  16. Definitely let's stay in touch! It will be great afterwards to touch base to make sure what we're feeling is "normal"! Good luck to you!

  18. Just received my surgery date today! 2/22! Putting through insurance next week! Excited but all of a sudden nervous! Anxious about the insurance approval, the surgery itself, and life afterwards but my excitement certainly outweighs the worries. Would be great to find a few people going through it around the same time! ????
  19. Thank you James! Congrats to you for your success!
  20. Hello again! One more question... I have a desk job but the job itself is pretty stressful (65+ hours/week) and often requires travel. When would you suggest going back to the actual office after surgery? (I do have the ability to work from home for a while afterwards.) My biggest fear is having an "accident" at work or in the middle of a presentation! Thanks for any advice you can provide!
  21. Hello All, I am new to the group. I have gone through all of my appointments and classes, just trying to lose 6 more lbs before they will give me a surgery date. Hopefully I will get a date by next week. Anyhow, after reading a few posts I am concerned with how many people said they did not lose significant weight early on. With everything I have read it sounds as though the beginning is when you have your biggest losses. Has this been the case for you? Or are you struggling still to lose weight? Thanks in advance!
  22. Good luck! Sending positive thoughts your way! Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life!
  23. Hello - when did you begin the whole process? I am going to my first appointment Friday and I am wondering how long it takes before they set a survey date? PS good luck with your surgery! It's the beginning of the rest of your life!
  24. Sorry I am new to this forum! I didn't realize you had responded! Sorry you are not feeling well sending well wishes your way!
